Fact check - this happened over 6 months ago

Not really.

Most of Pvp player buy ship ( wasa/bellona/christian/buc/ ect ect). And i don't even speak about seasonned crafted ship

Every day i sell easily 10 permit, they don't buy it for nothing no?

And not all player play dlc ship just for play low coast ship , personally if i play redoutable is not to have less lost , but just for play this ship ( cause all ship of the game are differente )

Doubs lost value => Pvp player can't buy crafted ship to crafter for doubs => Pvp player play only dlc ship => Crafter sstop sell ship = > You cry too

Crafted ships  will also lose in price and will become much cheaper.

May happen.

But depends on what player sells for and what player pays for.

Cheap or expensive depends on the free market.

If cheaper means a player will start selling a  1 million 5th rate for 250k ... Sure.

But I do not believe it.

Now the real will be the new doubloon. After all these years, you have not yet realized that only two forms of wealth are needed that distinguish between economic (real or doubloons) and meritorious or influential (medals or permits)?.

Now the reals will be scarce when the price of the doubloon falls against the real.

Good change indeed. Ships crafted from regular woods in combi with port bonuses (and rng) will be quite decent. So, crafters can engage into a bit more active rng crafting and the market will receive a decent flow of relatively inexpensive ships. Ships with good rng and S woods will be more expensive, thus allowing crafters to run a successful business.

As for additional cost in reals, is that really needed? Do not forget that any ship would require modules and to getting good ones require some effort and money.

This is a step in the right direction at least.  Now let's get rid of permits and make shipcrafting dependent on various trade goods around the map as it was when the L'Ocean was first introduced (remember it needed french wine).  Make trading great (necessary) again.

Again something nobody asked for lol

Then change the rewards you get from PVP and loot from ships!!!

The few dubs u need for Shipyard and stuff are not hard to farm so why would I loot doublons from a ship? Why would I loot dubs if i need reals to build new ships!!

Again a mature change to an already released game!! @admin when do u guys realise that we are not in Beta anymore?

The systém was working just fine. Traders made money by trading, crafters could buy dubs/combat medals/permit then craft ship and make profit, pvp was high risk with good reward. Id like to see how you will want to promote risk in pvp now. Pvp chest with loot almost same like in gold chest and few combat medals ?? Lol

Doubloons in shipbuilding will be removed.
Please avoid overspending as ship blueprints will change this week

The cost progression will be based on power that patch and will only require reals (pieces of eight)

Idk what u plan for the futur by removing doubs for craft  @admin, but this is one of the biggest mistake you can make...

If you add next new utilty for doubs later ( something make doubs have to be used a lot) , why not.

But actually the probleme is simple.

You have 3 type of way to farm money in the game:

Trade =Trade with goods

Craft ship = Sell ship

Pvp/Pve = Doubs and combat medal reward , Doubs is the real money maker

Doubs in craft was a way to kick of them out of the game , and making doubs value pretty stable.

If you kick of this syteme , doubs value will fall a lot, Pvp/Pve player will lost a good way to have money for buy upgrade/ship.

If you can't make good value out of you pvp/pve farming , buy a good ship with doubs  will not be intersting for the crafter cause he don't need anymore doubs for craft ship.

Less ship will be sold, crafted economy will fall.

And risk in pvp..., more good ship will just sleep in dock for a lot of player , and spamming redoutable

Perhaps all you doubloon hoarders will still have value, as the  means to pull woods from port-based clan missions might remain?  Perhaps this will be the mechanism to get the new woods?  I don't know, I'm just speculating of course.

Perhaps there are more than 3 ways to farm money, or  other methods are just sub-categories of 3 basic ways.

Trade with other players = PvP Trade

  • Sell; Resources, Notes, Blueprints, Upgrades*, Books, Cannons, Reals, Doubloons, Repairs by order.  PvP trade.

Trade by Contract in Ports

  • Buy: Resources, Notes, Blueprints, Upgrades*, Books, Cannons, Reals, Doubloons, Repairs and sell at a higher price by contract.  May involve transport.

Delivery missions

  • High yield of Reals when  Doubloon reward is sold - 1/2 million + Reals for 1 TBRig full of Cargo
  • Boring and grindy

Shop Trades

  • Buy port shop Goods at a low price, transport them, and then sell them at a high price.
  • Boring and grindy

Cannons and Repairs PvP Trade

  • Make/buy  Repairs and.or Cannons and sell them by placing contracts, or by trade to players
  • These are the only craftable PvP trade items left
    * Upgrades can be be quazi-crafted, but some ingedients must be bought or obtained by chance.

Ship Sales

  1. Buy cheap ships, transport them to capital, or shipbuilding port, and sell them in auction for higher price.
  2. Capture ships, and sell them by auction.
  3. Craft ships and sell them
  4. Hire a shipwright to craft ships and sell them

PvP/PvE

  • whatever ....

When i say 3 type its for simple answer. You just want explain something everyone understand already....

Trade with good = Book , canon , upgrade , trade item, chest , wood

Craft ship= I speak about the real sell of ship , cap and sell a ship is like sell a goods

Pvp/pve = Reals drope , upgrade , ship capped , doublon , chest mission

Can we at least get some reasoning for this change? Or is any major mechanic/part of the game just down to be changed at a moments notice at the whim of the devs? After people farm thousands of wood chest for port upgrades, 1 year later you're going to make it so the upgrades don't need wood chests too? So nice to waste all the time of the most dedicated players.

If doubloon prices are too high, it would be 100 times better to add more doubloons as rewards. Why not make port raids actually viable? the community asked for those rewards to be made much higher since their introduction and you didn't want to listen. Why not double doubloon rewards from pvp? The community also asked for some doubloons to be automatically given as loot into the ship hold/money chest on a pvp kill which could even double the pvp rewards. Why not add trade missions that reward a trader that moves x goods from port a to port b with 10 000 doubloons? Which guess what, it was also suggested by the community months ago. Why not add doubloon rewards to kill missions/hunt missions/pvp missions?

You do things like this and then wonder why your game keeps getting bad reviews.
