The ships sink so fast in here, that even without an extra tack you can't loot them many times. It is not about not doing what you need to, it is about the stupidly limited time until they sink. You might be able to brush off loosing a few thousand dubs, but for a few of us every few hundred counts.

It will keep players in frigates longer, not create gameplay for them. -

This would also give us commerce raiders more meaning and use. -
Idea on boosting overall trade and PVP
Cathal Brugha replied to tantony's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I already upvoted it, but unfortunately with the stupid number of votes thing, real changes get ignored or downvoted just because, or because clans don't want competition, and the silly 'popular' things that don't rock the boat are the only ones to get attention. -
Idea on boosting overall trade and PVP
Cathal Brugha replied to tantony's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I would just say, not sailing the ships yourself is the risk you are taking by using ai convoy. I still would like an answer from @admin as to why they think the grind must be so high in this game. -
HMS Trincomalee
Cathal Brugha replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
True, but I never have got seasoned wood from breaking ships so it is still useless for that I would pay for a Diana dlc, I really like that ship. But devs making Trinc dlc, a ship that has been in the game for a long time, and claiming it is worth $40-50? No. They are just pulling a fast one. Besides, my post was primarily about the ship, not whether it is a good gift or worthy of being dlc. Just my point of view of the ship itself. -
HMS Trincomalee
Cathal Brugha replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
The Trinc is only a meh frigate. It feels like a very heavy medium frigate. Turn rate is slow, turn radius is large, acceleration is slow. It only carries 18 pdrs compared to the Diana's or Endymion's 24pdrs. The best part of it is the hull strength, which is higher for a medium frig. and the 4 bow chasers. It sails like a heavy frigate, with only the punch and strength of a medium, so the other mediums out maneuver it, the heavies out gun/fight it. -
Ship slot DLC expansion

There are never enough slots. More need to be added. -
Tiburon. 0% tax and prices are in general lower than LaNav. If you place a reasonable contract there it will probably be fulfilled

La Navasse is where you get ripped off, it just is the major meeting point so there are many things available. But the prices are better anywhere else.

New Feature Proposals - Trading, Crafting, Economy
Cathal Brugha replied to admin's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
seasoned wood revised. Remove seasoning wood. All ships are by default built of seasoned wood. Ships can be selected at crafting to instead be built out of green wood, at a reduced cost of crafting materials amount, LH, and doubs if applicable. Green wood ships would be less srong and slower. Rational: Seasoned wood was not a special secret only available to a few, it was the standard for ship building, and almost any other woodworking. The 'green wood' ships would represent those ships hastily built, either for building speed or by corrupt shipyards not using the proper materials, including not using all the fasteners required. -
Interesting, but unable to use. To change nation I would need to lose all my hard earned buildings, I am not doing that grind again. It wouldn't make a difference since I am on the PvE server but, Nooo, must be locked or useless, ie. need to shut down everything, because pVp MiGhT AbUsE iT.

De Ruyter as an event ship?
Cathal Brugha replied to Navalus Magnus's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Also, what? If people gave good reviews you would give them more things? People were ecstatic that the De Rutyer was going to be added as craftable, and now you say 'well if you gave good reviews you might have got it but now you won't'? What a slap in the face for your player base. -
De Ruyter as an event ship?
Cathal Brugha replied to Navalus Magnus's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
How are you supposed to craft Implacable when it is locked behind a rare permit that doesn't show up? Are you saying we should give you a good review because you supposedly added it, even though i never get to craft one? There are many people asking for many things, and some things are asked for repeatedly by most people, but instead we get things not many or no one asked for and then you tell us to give you good reviews and you "might" consider something we actually want? I AM glad that there is a decent age of sail game out there, (this one), but it would be really nice if it seemed like you cared about the people more. As it is, you don't answer questions, and when you do respond many times it is quite antagonistic. How about something like a periodic Q&A where you answer the most asked and/or recent questions? How about some sort of response regarding PvE and small ship content? I think the RvR and clan endgame content is overwhelming everything else to the point that new players I am trying to get in the game don't want to join because it looks like a high rank clan clash of titans and the rest is just grind to get 'there'. Even PvE server seems to be dominated by clans, port battles, port bonuses, and the like.
