Friedus Posted August 8, 2018 Share Posted August 8, 2018 @King of Crowns looks like you had fun against Spain so had we Portbattel: Spain joined quite late, coming from south with their main fleet, while view bellonas and a mortar brig joined west. By that time Sweden had allready positioned them selfes and where ready to attack the attacker. Swedisch lighter ships did a great job by sinking a bellona and a mortar brig and swedish L'Oceans managed to focus down three of the enemy ones and nearly sank two more. Spanish Mortar Brig did a great Job by shooting us, but had to run, after some requins managed to break thru. Battel was over after only 30 mins an 20 mins of fighting. PS: how do i get rid of the King of Crowns? Spain then lost some more ships, because of the open world attack of sweden. It was a nice bettel and Spain is very welcome to come back. Spain commander - Jags // Pirates - Christendom & King of Crowns Minor mortar bring mishap there at the start and a weird boarding bug where I couldn't pull the herc, dunno why. #workingasintended. Main fleet went in with the big D and sunk a few of them. Unfortunately we capped all the circles and ended the battle too early. Batman Posted August 9, 2018 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Turneffe end result - British Victory I don't really know how to describe this battle, maybe @Jorge or @Graf Bernadotte want to give a PoV from the Spanish side. Britain joined SW with good wind. By that time Spain only had half the BR filled, but after a few minutes in battle five more Spanish first rates joined. Yet, the Spanish Lineships moved back to the port, probably to regroup. One of the British Mortars sailed around the Island along the east coast to join the battle in a northern position, escorted by a Herc and a Requin. The main fight was happening around the central A circle, where Britain was able to keep the Spanish fleet in the leeward position the whole time. For some reason neither side was able to get a killing strike on heavily damaged ships and Spain only started moving back into the circle when the Brits already had 800+ points collected. I moved away from the main line, to destroy the last tower. By then Spain had also sent their two Bellonas away to sink @Spitfire83, who joined the battle with the main fleet, but was successfully protected by @Aquillas. We went in with a not give a shit fleet with teak wo speed fit vics. If the spanish tried to fight they would have melted us. Everytime they wanted to sail into circle we charged them. The 1 thing you can expect from people that don't understand the wind is they will turn downwind the second they need to fight. I was putting the last cannon balls to a Russian, to make sure we atleast got at kill. When I just was dead. Wut the fuck happend there, went trugh my head. Annoyed I died and the Russian might have survived. Hit tab. All 5 danes dead. 6 of the enemy dead. 3 danes captured, think all dead enemy ship captured, all without any boardings. The GB guy had fireshiped and blowen us all up. I was two seconds away from completing the brace command when he went pop (pretty sharpish like) and I was 'captured'. Not sure how 'captured' works as all of the Danes were dead or captured too! So my carefully crafted Mercury, which crew shocks at a Hercules sneeze, was wiped by another DLC diamond supposedly in our fleet. Wtf indeed! I have a feeling NAVOC will not be approaching KINGS for Captain MDDonnergott's assistance during the transfer window; unless it is to push him out of it!
