I simply need that in our guild thread. Gotta love it.

History
The Danish Dog, also known as the Apollo of dogs, is a giant breed. The Danish is Danish in origin, not Danish. It is thought that the breed has been around for more than 400 years. Danish Doggen are descended from mastiff-like dogs that were bred by Danish nobility to protect estates and hunt wild boar.

In the 18th century, the Great Danes were prestigious guardians of estates and carriages. They were also popular with the higher class for sports, because few other dogs could drop a wild boar.

The Danish who looked more like we know today were developed in the 19th century. In 1880 the Germans prohibited the name "Great Dane" and called the breed "Deutsche Dogge", which means German mastiff; however, the breed is still called Great Dane in English-speaking countries.

These dogs are primarily pets and, despite their size, have become popular among city dwellers they love to help protect against robbers.
