Well i wasn't asking if there were any polish players left and what they are up to. I was wondering why the other nations decided to take their only ports. (something happened....)

Ask them mate. Anyway we were half dead nation because few different factors: game mechanics, our nature, personal issues, low population and zergs of other nations.

Think Sweden took terre de bas Just because of the Tools. Maybe swedes build their sheds there now ...

US attacked Cano Macareo. Dutch asked polish to Set Timer on the remaining port, polish refuses or no officer of the Port owner Clan was online for days ... so dutch took the Port, but offered to give it Back If polish set a Timer on it ...

The impossible nations have only truly worked with Russia due to the numbers who joined  at the start and since they became top dog. The rest were unable to get a foothold.

A nation with no base and not enough players will always struggle and many non native speakers will not risk joining due to expected language difficulties ( French and Spanish nations have experience with this also)

Even if they had 1 unconquerable port, they would still be sitting inside it getting slapped every time they try and go fishing.

Not really - when game was released in 2016 in early stage we manage gather 160 polish players in PFK as a dutch (one clan) plus there was another good bunch of them in other nations. If we can united when Commonwealth of Poland arrived on Caribbean we can be easy second or third power here. But at this time we had only 40 or so captains ready to fight. Rest or choose other nations, never been interested or stopped playing. Game mechanics, level of difficulty and language barrier was reason to other nationalities never joined our ranks.

Implementing poland wasnt the best decision. Atleast germans and russians far excede polish population so its not that bad. What admin probably didnt thought about is that germans are not very national focused anymore so most dont care jf they can play as germany/prussia or not. (I know prussia != Germany)

In past we had idea something called: "Revolutionary Chart" a very expensive item allow hardcore nation proclaim independence and take over one port as a capital. But this was never implemented - maybe this will help a bit. But now from big polish playerbase we have few there and few there...

due to patriotic fervour

  • US players dont play as US?
  • Spanish not playing as spanish?
  • French not playing as french?
  • Brits not playing as Brits?

Yeah sure.

Now imagine Germans would actual have some patriotic fervour. Russia would get such a big competitor. But like @rediii said -  Germans aint like that

What would be a valid guess and could have lead to balanced teams are blue, red , white, black teams

@admin made the mistake of adding several nations to please some players.

While it was a nice gesture on paper such decision has been among the worst ones. It has splitted a tiny playerbase into 11 factions, murder the historical attenticity of the tittle with no gameplay gain (it was nice, inmersive and historical, to fight against the British Navy but now Russia is the zerg (wtf)), increase the potential loss of players in the case of the fall of those nations and contributed to the lack of balance among nations due to patriotic fervour (all russians going to russia, the most visible example).

Has the game really lost historical authenticity because we have 11 nations instead of 8 and because Britain is no longer the strongest nation in the game?

You noticed, however, that ships from three centurys sail the sea at the same time, but that the start map no longer has anything to do with a historical background, where pirates drive the largest battleships and where a front line system prevents that fleets can attack any city on the map ..... nothing but absolutely nothing to do with historical authenticity?

@Intrepido
From which history book do you have your knowledge of the Caribbean of the 18th and 19th centuries?

P.S.I would bet with them that if there was a Chinese nation or an Ottoman / Barabresque nation, it would bring the game more players than it would cost players.
