New Feature Proposals - DLC


Question

Please propose your ideas on new DLC additions in the following way.

  • 1 Post = 1 Proposal.
    • Players will vote on 1 proposals only. Multiple proposals will mix different subjects and confuse.
    • Multitiered or multi subject proposals will be removed.
  • Keep the proposals on the topic subjects
  • Do not comment. The thread is for proposals only
  • If you want to improve on other people proposals contact them so they can update the post. 
  • Best proposals will be brought up by the system based on likes and we will comment on them once in a while. Proposals which dont get community attention will be ignored and will sink to the bottom.

Venice Arsenal Ships DLC

Maybe is not a good idea to increase the number of nation in game, but could be nice to put also some ship made in the Venice Arsenal.

These seems cools and were used also from different country if we look to history

A true 2nd rate 90-gun ship-of-the-line like Dutch (and later french) Chattam (1799):

Currently existing 2nd rates are either no 90-gun ships (chasers didn't count in the old classification system) or historically inaccurately buffed (like the 42pd on Le Bucentaure) and actually 3rd rates. Or both.

Hence there's a gap between the 550/600 BR '2nd rates' and the Victory.

Please improve the paint schemes in 'Painter' DLC. More than half of the paint jobs are extremely drab and depressing. There is nothing for Admiral de Ruyter... and only 3 for Indefatigable all of which are extremely uninspiring. It would be nice to see some gold leaf and colourful detail on the sterns and figureheads on at least some of the paint schemes, and more elegant colour in general, in keeping with the spirit of the Baroque period.

This could be a reduced size warehouse with just 20 slots to allow storage of repairs and upgrades for the clan officers to withdraw similar to other clan warehouses.

Yes! Yes!
And maybe in National Voice pack DLC or another one with sea shanty? When you are in OW or after sunk all enemy in battle you can hear you crew singing shanty like in some Ubisoft game. Of course you should be able to disable this dlc in game for streamers and copyrights.

Offer DLS European Shipbuilders. This DLS will Add to the game personal improve the shipyard on 3 branches out of 5 {More will make unnecessary craft cities, less will Wake useless}, the improvement will be carried out according to the rules of pumping cities.

Bonuses, personal the port and the shipyard should not be used together.

DLC pack with the old user interface.

Yes, the old blue interface with white/grey text, and no icons or decorative features.

The old UI was fast and very easy to manage, especially if you were a crafter.

DLC Idea: Captains collection/ Bridge Crew collection

  • some captain/ captain, helmsman, boatswain to place between paint and port bonuses boxes in the ship  equipement window, like we use to do with paints
  • you can see famous captain could have special  animaton like looking in a spyglass, using a sextant, smoking a pipe, a pirate with a parrot over the shoulder, a pirate without an hand and a monkey over the head, a pirate with ahook, the command officer of Master and Commander and so on
  • you can see them on battle window greeting you with the hand at the beginning of the battle or making you the o7 when you sink

Imported Ship Sales Tax (a permit)

A minimal real money transaction (over Steam or a code bought directly from GL), which allows to sell "imported ships" (DLC redeemed) to other players.

I understand DLC ships cannot be sold in game as it would curb GL's sale of DLC if such ships would be available freely. But sometimes you really want to give such ships to your friends, alts or just sell them off because your 3-4 slots for them are full with gold/purple ones you consider too precious to break up. As result the DLC becomes unused by you until you lose one of these.

Now if we could pay a little price in real money to devs and thereby one ship sale becomes legal, we all win from the situation. Devs earn something, we sell a ship, client receives a ship he desires (it may trigger in him the wish to buy the DLC if he likes it very much).

Steps:

- player buys in shop/steam/Gamelabs site a permit for one ship transaction (price depends on devs' calculation so it won't interfere with DLC sales, in such ways, that price turns out to be profitable in relation to a few less expected DLC sales. For example 1 Euro.)

- player finds person who wants to buy an already redeemed ship from him.

- either seller or buyer use an 'imported ship sales tax' token in game (trade window will ask for the token to be applied once the ship is from DLC) and the ship becomes transferable, ingame price however is not touched by the permit and needs to be defined between them just like in any other transaction. The one using the token should expect a better price for him though because he had to buy the permit.

- traded DLC ship regains non-tradable status after transaction took place. If it is to be traded again, it needs another ship transaction permit.

Sell future DLC ships as packages of 10 at a low price (10 Victories for like 3-5$).

Good for the devs, they will have permanent income from the Victory-lovers.

Good for the game, the ships won't  (most likely) be used as a way to get cheap seasoned wood and won't become the all-around-meta-ship.
