You know how lh will work in the future?

If you choose to use alts, good for you, since the admin said that DLC are there for people who don't have much time to play for different rl issue, tgen there are also other things that  could be make under a DLC.

Read my first post.

So if you like to find short way, trick, bugs, glitch, fair is  your choice, mine is to ask for more regular ones.

You asked for a DLC to expand WH, Dock, and Building spots. I said there already is one.

You asked for a DLC to expand LH beyond what your craft level allows. I said admin has stated LH will be overhauled and decoupled from craft level, which addresses this concern.

Not sure what else you are looking for here?

Dumb question but do the DLC ships come with all the necessary crew?  I'm currently ranked captain so my 380 crew limit I assumed would mean the 3rd rate was essentially worthless to me.

Greetings, DLC provides a ship itself that you can redeem once a day with desired frames and planking. Guns, upgrades and crew are not included in DLC

Correct.  You need to rank up to get enough crew to man a larger ship. Crew is not part of the DLC.

"That's what I thought so why is everyone complaining so much. It's not like a newb can pay and win. They're still going to have to grind for hours before they can purchase the DLC.  And if they weren't replaceable then how likely would many people be to risk their ships."

Read the whole thread and it will be crystal clear, we don't need to restate this case over and over and over, its there if you cared to look for it.

Soon the sea will full of DLC ships with more ship coming even she OP or UP.  It is not problem if DLC ship OP or not, it's the easy to replace so many people will buy and sail DLC ship.

The Redoutable is popular because she is a 3rd rate, sweet post for every content, she is fast, have good fire power, so it fun to sail her.... the same reason for 1st rate dont use much besides PB. Most of people like to sail 5th, 4th and 3rd rate.

I don't believe that 1st rate DLC will be more popular than 3rd rate DLC even though 1st rate is much stronger.

My concern is we have too few other DLCs besides the ship. There are many things that can be added as DLC, such as a trade hall. It allows you to check the price of goods, the quantity of goods or tasks in other port without you having to visit them. Or you can pay money for AI to escort your cargo ships. For example, pay 5 million to have 5 1st rate ships escort my fleet of 3 Indiaman for a limited time, so I will not worry about ganking while transfer improtant goods.

Or DLC allow to dye the sails, or put badges on it. Like black sail with skull symbol on it.

 **** that old promise.

  • First it was given when we only promised 10 ships and 3 maps, we could afford 10 ships and 3 new maps, but community wants more and somebody will have to pay for it.
  • Second i grew older and no longer have time to grind, these ships are for the older me. Younger me can still grind and have even better ships.
  • Third, Do you want new content and post about it? Would you agree to code them for free? No. I cant find free programmers unfortunately.

+ Some people already consider that we have already broke all promises.  We were bashed on the bases of linguistics (even on youtube) for keeping the promise when we introduced a promised 4th rate. Why endure hate for keeping promises?  Or trying to change the promises (release wipe).

And yes. No more promises, we burnt hard on the wipe and 4th rate debacle, and were left with no emotions.

PS. The post you linked does not contain any confirmation of your statement, we were talking about old discussions there.

There are more ways to monetize a game and its development and make it viable on long term.

If you focus only on DLC ship at higher price you'll loose the people who can't afford it that level of commitment. I can spend money on games... But there if you're following the WoT or WoWs model. Prices are becoming outrageous. If we are at $50 for a 3rd rate what will it be for the new victory? In addition to that for those games people kind of know that their "investment" will last for some time (a few years). And I am not sure if that we can have the same warranty from your company.

Then what about those who are ready to pay for extra docs, extra ports or extra whatever (you know options that gives you the benefits of an alt without having to buy one and use sandbox stuff)?

You could continue making new ships for free for all but have them financed by those DLC I'm suggesting.

just to be clear.. we have not made decision on first rate DLCs  and might not add it. We just want to keep options open and are carefully looking at the Redoutable effect on the game. Thats why classic victory which is currently in development could be just a gift ship.   We will let everyone know in advance. there is a decent chance it might not happen.

Rotterdam, the trader warship, will be sold quite nicely instead. With the improvements to trading, many would welcome a ship able to truly defend itself.

Adding a first rate, such a powerful ship as DLC, will be detrimental to the game in the long term.

the Redoutable effect on the game

I'm not sure this is the right thread to post this, but I'd like to give my 2c on this particular point.

I don't think it's pay to win; Redout is a fine ship, but can certainly be reasonably beaten by other 3rd rates and 2nd rates in its class. Rather, there is now no role for 5th rates on the open world. The role of 4th rate is diminished to tagger, and the minimum you can bring for OW pvp is now a Wasa (and you should probably have something a little bigger). New/inexperienced players are still bringing Trincs to coast defense against Redouts, because it is all they can afford to lose, and they make little to no impact besides feeding kills and taking up BR.

Can a good captain in a 4th or 5h beat a Redout? Of course! But the margin of error grows ever slimmer the bigger the target ship is. Frankly, it just feels bad to be forced into larger and larger ships for casual OW pvp. On top of that, you can never cap a redout, so there is no chance of you getting a sweet ship off your enemy. Nor are you decreasing the power of your opponent, they will just redeem another tomorrow.

I honestly wouldn't know what change to make to address the situation, but adding more and bigger DLC ships will certainly make it worse.

I bought the Redoutable and I sail it very often. I like the DLC idea of making things easier if you pay for it. I also think if the income you get from those ships motivates the development to develop the game, its fine for me. Thats the reason why I bought nearly all DLCs.

Nevertheless I see an imbalance at the moment.

It is good to make things easier when paying real money for stuff but I think it should not be to hard to stay competative if you do not. I think you solved a part of the problem by increasing the wooden chest drops and by adding them to the PvP mission awards, but the way seasoned woods can be produced is to hard in my eyes. Especially for those who have no good access to Privateer fleets it is a hard grind enough seasoned woods to craft a ship that is competative with the seasoned wood redeemed Redoutable (even with bad bonusses). With a first rate as an DLC or - as you call it- imported ship - this imbalance will increase. To reduce it, the access to seasoned woods should be increase, especially by cheaper production cost. Labour contracts are - in my personal opinion - much to expensive, tools drop to rare.

Administrator, I and many players would like to know if you plan to develop more Spanish ships in the game. It would be great if there is an answer.

I would like to see the victory with balconies as a refit dlc. Working as the paint dlc changing the appearance of the existing Vic once every day. This way it's just cosmetic and the Vic still has to be crafted.

But I would truly love to see the combat Indiaman as ship dlc. A merchant ship is missing for ship dlcs
