  1. when my sails are parallel to the wind I tack, it is at that moment the wind stops propelling you forward, and instead in reverse, I do this to maintain enough speed to increase the effectiveness of my rudder through the turn as well as my sails.

On behalf of the United Provinces, I do hereby make it more so public knowledge than it already was that the Great Britain Nation and us, the great United Provinces, have an official Trade agreement and Non-Aggression pact in response to the recent Pirate and French coalition. While some rogues from both sides may have attacked another nation's ships, this is forgiven in light of being a mere fraction of the players from both nations agreeing to stay neutral and to let each other carry on their way. This was discussed to be appropriate due to the threat of annihilation from other national and scoundrel enemies beyond our own waters. This is all that has been agreed. Godspeed, OneEyedSnake

  7. But really, instead of changing the system, perhaps smaller clans in larger nations should migrate to smaller nations... It would balance some things out, make gameplay more interesting for everyone, youd get more marks, the smaller nations wouldnt be steamrolled so easy... Just putting it out there

  9. what server are you on? Us Dutch in PVP Global have flipped several Port Battles after the PB mechanic change, in fact we as a super small nation love it. Our cohesion and teamwork have lead to us doing well. Thats what it comes down to, teamwork.

  13. Why do the forts not shoot in port battles to fully cover cap circles? In most port battles the circles are hardly covered, why is this the case? It does not make sense that the cap circles are outside of the forts' defensive zone of control. You build forts to defend important things. not the fish in the sea.

  16. Well Tacticus, British are a large nation, pretty easy play if thats what looking for. However if you are looking for a bit more of a challenge, with a community of players much smaller than Britian that are dedicated to teamwork you might consider going to Verenigde Provincien, us Dutchies. We dont have a lot in either playerbase or land, but we are expanding, and the more experienced players the better. My fleet is KM, although, we work as a nation and not as individual clans. If you do decide to go this path there are a few things I must inform you on. It isnt easy, its a grind for a while until our borders are expanded, but the community is absolutely fantastic; I will PM you our Teamspeak info so you can see how we run a bit if you'd like. With such a helpful and kind community comes trust and the ability to work towards the same goals. What youd be doing for us if you joined us would be giving us more numbers, which is what the whole nation needs right now, which would help our grind go faster and get us into pvp more successfully.

I like that idea, but you seem to have only played large nations. at that point until the game population came up there would be no point in have Dutch, Spanish or Swedes or arguably even the Danes in global server. Our whole nation is a quarter of the size of most GB and US clans, which kind of ruins it for these nations. Not going to lie, i get tired of everyone complaining about the current state of the game without trying other smaller nations and truly understand a rough start, no coal, no gold or silver, none within 30 minutes sail, was 2 hours, thank god that was fixed, gold and silver 3 hours away at minimal, but some super sized nation takes your only option of it away and tells you they will give it to you, if you buy it from them. k wtf. that isnt "giving." But anyways, that aside. Like I always say, the game needs to be based around the current population, I love your idea Norfolk, and I have suggested the same, back when the game was 1k+ players on PVP2, but as of right now, I fear it would only frustrate a good portion of players enough to quit. Or they will all just go GB or Pirate, and youll only have 2 nations anyways.
  20. With this those, nations did historically have trade agreements for open port access between two nations to trade. With the alliance rework it would be fabulous to have trade agreements, non aggression pacts, alliances, etc. as all individual options for national members to choose from. This way agreements made over TS can then have a real mechanic in game. These things also should be updated daily, and when the opposing side over rules the other, then it is flipped to off or on. Certain mechanics, such a trade agreement would be disabled by a game mechanic if say the nations were rivals or were at war. Same with obviously the non aggression pact.
  21. What percentage does hostility in regions go down by per maintenance?
