  1. There are no contracts like 'I need a good ship for pve, please craft me'. Currently there is simply no market so nobody sells.
  2. The new player experience is shit, have you ever checked what kind of broken ships are for sale in the capitals? After that the cannon prices... Starting that game without a proper clan economy or 5 alts and a lot of planning and afk sailing? Just not possible to play this game casually. And don't come with 'you can cap a 5th', it's already hard for experienced players to cap a 5th rate with a brig, how should a new player do that without getting sunk and even if, he only captures a shitty frig you can't level with... Those FAQs are just the tip of the iceberg!
  3. The biggest drawback of raising the repair costs is the amount of reps you have to take with you on a bigger campaign. While small privateers like Z4YS never really go out in bigger ships than a 5th rate, you see the heavy drawbacks of the current repairsystem with the amount of revengefleets when you go out with a group. The more you take with you, the slower you get, the more damage you have to tank, the more you have to repair. Especially with the new gamemechanic where repairs in sunken ships simply disappear and the amount of boarding in fleet battles pretty much is nonexistant because of determined defender you cant really collect more repairs inside a battle. This suggestion is again a onesided view on a subject to make the life of small privateers easier to sink 'heavily and specialised equipped ships'.
  4. Would the GA clan just play as much pvp in OW as its member does here in the forums....
  5. That is happening anyways. A clan-based game would be much more fluid than the old east and west blocks we had.
  6. Imho the only protection the capital zones give is not reinforcement fleets but the forever open battles. Calling reinforcements is actually quite stupid as they block slots for your overkill of coastguard that will come to rescue you for the 0 to 1 pvp marks they get for killing the hunters. Rather than having AI reinforcements we could think about an emergency distress call in nation chat via 'Clerk' with the exact position for the battle like 'British player got attacked 2k south of KPR. Attacker has 225 BR'. As this would give all the necessary intel the coastguard needs to come to help new players. To the current reinforcement fleets... They break immersion, are stupid as hell, can't repair and for hunters easy to immobilize (chain, demasting).
  7. This would still suck for every nation that has no 24/7 PB fleet ready - every nation except France. France would gain huge advantages of this.
  8. I am not a friend of wipe announcements of any kind. They change the playstyle of players because of mostly rumours and a 'it doesn't matter anymore'-mood.
  9. I agree and disagree. The problem of this 'open development' in this case is that its just partly open. We don't know what will come in the next patch for real, we hear the most times just ideas that COULD be in the next patch but are most of the times are just not thinked through yet. At the same time the big goal for what Naval Action should become as finale product has changed a few times what made a big part of the community rage quit at one of the goalchanges. Just remember, at the EA-release naval action was not tagged as 'Hardcore' then the big hardcore patch came in and we had a decline in players by half within a few weeks. But yeah, you will always face haters but at the same time you will also hear real critics that you as a dev should listen to eventhough it may be phrased harsh. You cant just build a good game with a bunch of 'yes'-sayers.
  10. That bug is ingame since two years or so. Never got fixed.
  11. Did the break start when the bully-alliance took north inlet or was that just my imagination seeing his name in the battle?
  12. Cooldown timer of 48 hours. Exploit it, but only every 3 days.
  13. We exploited the game so you can take something from us that we didnt got the legit way? Wait what?
  14. This is just the tip of an iceberg of the exploitability of this current port-owner mechanics. Would a clan like DNP, VLTRA, WO or HRE switch from one day to another to another nation and do the very same thing HAVOC did here, they have the possibilty to destroy a whole nation within a week.
  15. IMHO the 'problem' is the result of 5ths speed slowed down too much. Nobody will use a 5th that is just 0.5kn faster than a SOL with lots more of guns and crew.
  16. Did that, tried it. Sailed around the whole map, 2 real game days with just one trader battle. Not worth it.
  17. With the new chainsystem implemented and taken part in some real pvp, yes, real pvp, no noobbashing at florida, my impression is that basespeed matters. If you are fast, you will get away from everything, so as expected, fir fir meta, here we go again! For bigger engagements we end up with mastthicknesses of SOLs of 1st and 2nd rate too heavy to snipe those masts. So you cant chain them, you cant demast them... Pretty much unsinkable when you are in a 3rd or smaller. I am really searching for ways to kill floating battteries 1st rates right now when you are not in a 1st yourself, but cant find any. Determined defender made boarding pretty useless, chaining is no more, demasting is nearly impossible and sinking them... yeah sure^^
