The amount of thoughts per hour of 'why do I still play this shitty game'. Currently the amount is very high as you have to throughlive at least one real life hour of pve to get a PB the next day. Your way will result in sailing afk to the port and then sit in an empty battle till port is flipped so I can sail afk back. No defender would be able to create counterfleet in the time you propose.

As long as pve or being afk is involved in rvr I disagree. Rvr needs to be the product of a pvp fight or no fight at all (so defenders need to show up). If defenders can defend ports by simply boredom the attackers to death its not a solution to what we have right now m

We had PvP and conquest everywhere not because of a shitty tow/teleport system but because of 2500 players on one server. With smaller numbers you need to bring the players closer together to get the same experience.

On paper that might seem like it. The problem you don't see is the distribution of those players around the map. Let's say in nation US you have a few guys that like to fight, but those players keep in their area. As GB player you would need to sail all the way to their territory to maybe get them into a battle. But if those players are already in another battle, GB player sailed all the way up for the nothing. Less nations means more players per nation and and therefore more players at the same area. And therefore the amount of pvp you get in hostile territory to be increased.

Another scream for merging the nations for more fun in rvr. Brits can't do proper rvr due to low pvp player numbers and high carebaer numbers. Dutch are simply unwilling to rvr. Russia can't rvr due to low numbers. France don't do rvr due to their peaceful day team and monopole night team. US, never heard of any significant rvr activity. Pirates: everyone left the sinking boat, is now a seal nation. I just forgot the existence of Poland. Leaves only 4 nations with rvr potential: Spain only does when next to capital Denmark with two medium sized teams that don't play together Sweden the old server police that dies through boredom in rvr and no potential to grow in any direction and Prussia the new winning team Would we merge the dead nations we would end with 5 nations that could do rvr. And yes, I favor a clan based game instead of nations but that's not gonna happen.

Introduce specific good that drops in one or two ports that is needed to craft them. New important port created - everyone happy.

Mah dudes, if found the solution and it fits perfectly in the current gamedevelopment of repeating already tested stuff: The Alliance-System! Two blocks fighting each other and somewhere between the dead of boredom pirate nation.

Because no Russian ever done that... Right, every trader sailed one hour more just to not take the shortest way possible... Towing is no exploit and never will be. Putting ports to timers to take away the possibility to give players content and therefor fun on the other hand...

Please keep in mind that this in worst case leads to less pvp to save ports. I would suggest combat marks.
