  1. I recommend you playing some clicker games like clicker heroes or http://www.decisionproblem.com/paperclips/ . For all the others out there every unnecessary click is a waste of gametime that decreases the amount of time you could do some more fun stuff... like playing in naval battles or be on OW. Only because we might get rid of intermediate materials does not mean that ships will become less worthy.
  2. I am still wondering why we dont have any game mechanic that let us use npc traders to transport our stuff from a to b. instead we need alt accounts to afk sail for hours. Earlier we had at least a transport mechanic that let us transport goods from one free town to another, helped a lot against afk sailing.
  3. Sadly that only solves half the problem. Spaniards with parisians can still teleport to mariel. But still, would solves exploits like back when you were russians and used teleport from carta to barranquilla to revengefleet a swedish PB fleet.
  4. It's intended to be a debug-tool for when you end up at the end of the map and can't get out anymore. That is why we still have it.
  5. Because the teleport still contains legacy code from back when PBs only happened at county capitals. That is why teleport brings you to the nearest deep water port that is not a county capital.
  6. The sternraking damage model is absolutely fine as it is right now. Make it stronger and you won't enjoy SOL battles anymore.
  7. It's heavy desync. Happens a lot, nothing new.
  8. No, you are guessing. Same guessing would be to say that they will be a premium dlc buyable for 30$ next month.
  9. Nobody really knows why we dont have them anymore... Such a shame!
  10. could you post the not shrinked link, would love to watch it. This link is an Error404.
  11. Back when I played I talked with many players and recruited a few new guys in that time for a clan. The trick is to send them the link to one of the youtube videos 'how to pass tutorial'. Everyone can pass it with a plan how to.
  12. No they are not. Vets built up their own economy or have a clan guy doing it for them. New players dont have their own economy build up yet, that is why they cry so loud when vets kill them. For them everything is expensive and nearly impossible to get. Just look how mighty mo did the first days. He was helped by lots of vets just to get over this phase of game.
  13. Sorry, but, are you kind of slow? I will, just for you, repeat my suggestion. The problem: A new player joins the game. Passes tutorial and grinds in basic cutter a little bit of money. Now he wants to buy a ship to progress in his leveling effort. His crew count is 400. So he is looking not for a shallow water ship but a frig. Frigs he finds on the market are fir/fir or comparable. Vets tell him not to use those kind of ships as they are not tanky enough to grind in, so called trash. The current way: He has to build up his economy to get the ship of his wishes. It's hard, its painfull and no fun for a guy who wants 'Naval Action', not afk-trading simulator. The solution: A contract system, so he can put it: 'I need a trinc with teak and white oak planking. I pay 600k. ' Should it get fullfilled, he has a proper ship for the money he offered, if not, price was too low or nobody willing to fullfill because of reasons. Pro: -Get more new guys out to OW with proper ships they wanted to have. -New market for crafters as they build on order not on wild guessing and hoping it will get bought. -Economy-realism: No real shipyard builds ships in hoping to sell ships but on ordering contract. Con: -Lazy guys will have problems to sell trash ships to players. What exactly is not a new player experience in this case?
  14. No, it's not. What purpose would contracts have for me if I can build up my own for rescource prices and actually can keep the good ones?
  15. Its not my intention to buy cheap ships. My intention is to get proper ships at all without having to build up my own eco! It's simply unnecessary complicated to get a proper ship in a game that is intended to be a sailingship game. Fir-fir-ships rather sink in pve missions. And its rather frustating to sink and loose all stuff in the first grinding phase there is, when you don't have the money to simply replace your ship. I can build my own 25 first rate fleet whenever I would like to, I have all the stuff together, just no ship slots left. As stated before I have my alts... So keep your mouth shut if you just throw out wild accusses that don't belong here.
  16. Because why not? Unlock first rates sounds like a good thing and aim for every new player. Back when you sailed with your basic cutter next to those huge first rates... I guess most of us thought the same way. But you are unwilling to see above your horizon, both of you, you are not 'most of us.' So enjoy your last 400 players.
  17. Progress. Some players play games to reach end level/endboss as fast as possible.
  18. Thinking that your own oppinion is worth more than mine is just plain wrong. I intended to level up as fast as possible, you just play brigs. Two different things. Equally worth an expression. I end it here. I stopped playing this game. Playerbase is currently below 400 and at a point of no return.
  19. I tried to find an oak oak ship or comparable for below 750k. Not a thing that would be 'meta'. But yeah, have fun with your thousands of newcomers we don't have. I told you a reason we dont have new players and you are just picking out the reasons why I am wrong and you are so much better than I am. Not helpfull.
  20. Yeah, does it make the situation any better to not know how you get farmed by your own nationcrafters and after that outside in OW by every other nation?
  21. The contract should be like you open a ship note, you choose the wood and planking, the rest is up to the seller. A higher specialised contract system for choosing how many perm slots or trim I see rather optional than really needed.
  22. Yeah sorry for the shorted answers, on mobile i dont write walls of texts. This problem I expierienced myself, I have lots of alts and a working eco, but I really wanted to give it a try and play the game as a newb would do. So I started in a brand new nation (It's called beginner friendly in the opening screen...) and completed the tutorial. I sailed around and checked for storeships but the best thing I could find was a npc-frigate, no playermade ship was usefull for the price it was asked for. At this point I was so upset and stopped my new-expierience-project, because I got stuck. The current problem is for new players to get stuck eventually when they dont want to build up their own economy. Pretty much a SOLO-economy is not working. 5 building slots, of whom you need 2 for cannons and shipyard-buildings. So 3 free for rescources, too bad we have more than 3 rescources. EU-traders are a hidden feature and limited to use as the rescourcecosts are pretty high compared to an ethan doe-player, who has at least 12 eco alts and can sell first rates for dumping prices. So what can you do when you start the game, eventually reach 400 crew and see that the ports only sell oak crew space renomees or at a highest an oak essex? pretty much nothing. You have to buy what somebody put on the market - trash or to prices I wouldnt even start to think of buying a 5th rate for 2 millions. You get stuck at this point. Especially when you get farmed by trying to get the level on this kind of trash ship. Even with the current 'you can cap 5th rates'-system... With 400 crew you can sail 4th rates. But you don't get them anywhere, so you get stuck at latest here. Currently its a rarety to see proper ships on the market. Everyone actively playing this game produces ships for himself or his clanmates, no market involved. If something goes to the market its trash or 'not good enough for selfconsumption'. But still I would say that every active player has capacities to produce more cheap ships than he crafts right now. So why not use these capacites to sell for a coin or two? And this guys is the real reason, you dont see new players in this game, if not helped by vets you get stuck - and you quit. So why not implemend a contract system as suggested before? 'I need a teak/wo trinc and have half a mill, would somebody be so kind and craft it?' - ezpz.
