  1. As Hethwill said, crews will flock to successful Captains, so make crews free to Pirates. Yes to the 500 crew limit, but perhaps its a per ship limit, allowing a fleet?
  2. 1. love it. 2. Bombs are too modern. Stick with ball. 3. They can 4. This is a game play issue that has been discussed in depth. Limiting ammo means sailing home a lot! No fun. 5. No Sh!t. 6. As per 4. 7. Already discussed in depth. 8. Its big enough! 9. As per 7.
  3. Perhaps all players should be required to drink 3 ounces of rum every day at 11am...you know, for immersion purposes. Then prayers...Pyrates may gamble
  4. A port changed hands a short time ago when I was offline for a few days. My outpost and warehouse are still there. Business as usual for me, except its now an enemy port. Don't even need a smugglers flag as they opened it for all.
  5. That's the one aft and usually the biggest most prominent (The Brits don't actually use their Union Jack, but the Naval Ensign). I would like to see a clan Flag/pennant on the fore mast (if I can't have a logo on the sail...just a little one....25% of the sail area)
  6. There is a portion of the players who would have the ships looking like "Von Richtofen's Flying Circus" if allowed. Have to be careful here.
  7. Right now "everyone" does not run mods. Only the few. What you would gain by taking away elite mods is a more level playing field where skill, not gear wins the day
  8. Good points all. My thinking is that the port becomes much more valuable and worthy of taking. It also becomes more important to defend it. How many of us still have outposts and warehouses in ports that an enemy has taken?
  9. Or, to be completely opposite: 1. All ships being sold in the port immediately become the property of the conqueror. To the Victor comes the spoils. 2. All contracts are removed and any "filled" portions become the property of the conqueror. To the Victor etc. Additionally, all warehouses (ALL) are looted by the Victor
  10. Looks like it's about to be launched after build. They put the masts in this kind of ship after launch. Very cool pic!
  11. The marines were there to keep your lot in line....we didn't need them on subs, obviously!
  12. I don't mind getting sunk. I just got sunk last night, but I was in a TBrig so it doesn't matter. What I object to is getting sunk in what could have been a reasonably even fight and not knowing if I lost to the skill or the mods. I learn nothing that way. If you are way more experienced than me, why do you need all the mods?
  13. As someone who has been playing for 4 months, my opinion is that I can't compete with those who have the mods. I am not yet as skilled as the experienced players and I have not accumulated the mods myself. A player with far greater experience on a modded up supership means I stand no chance. If there were no super mods, at least I could measure my skills against a better player and learn from it. In this reality, I have no idea whether its the mods or the player that is killing me.
  14. If you want to further the realism....Historically, ships lost speed over time due to weed growing below the water line. Longer periods in harbour would cause more weed. Smaller ships could be "Careened" (emptied, pulled up on the beach and scraped), but larger ships needed drydocks. You could easily lose 5kts of speed with a "weeded" bottom. Very expensive on a cyclic basis
  15. Battle honours could be tied to a Captain (not a ship)
  16. Good point.....If I show up to screen another Nation's PB, they may pay me (in Rum), but yeah...I think I want something. Maybe we need a Battle Honours board. "Battle of Jutland 31 May 1916"
  17. Screening is an integral part of a PB, just like in real wars, many battles make up a successful campaign. So make any fighting around a PB give the same rewards.
  18. hmmm, that is great to avoid ganking for sure. But why not apply it to non Duellist ships. Its a perk after all...like control?
  19. To be clear...you have the Duellist perk and you tag someone in OW. They do not have a Duellist perk. Battle begins and closes immediately, therefor they cannot be reinforced?
  20. Add to that, regional capitols will buy goods at the same prices as national capitols.
