Current Ships in Development Update?

Firstly I would like to start by apologising for being another one of "those" threads but I would really like to know if there has been any more updates on the ships in development. Currently players are waiting on the delayed ship selection poll but also curious what has happened with the "confirmed" ships with their currently dedicated game files, or any news on ships we haven't heard from yet.

 

Currently there are game files for:

Prince de Neufchatel

Pandora

Diana

Hermione

Kepler

Wasa

Christian VII

With Pandora being promised as part of the up coming wipe in around a weeks time.

 

Yesterday we saw some progress with these two screenshots dropped by admin on the Russian forums;

 

 

 

So as a conclusion, I will clearly ask the questions,

 

• Are there any new ships in production?

• What progress is there on the current ships with their own game files

• Have any of the ships been dropped, for example the Xebec?

 

 

It would be great to hear something solid, also if anyone has any more rumours or hints of what is going on with the development, please do share them. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Pandora will be provided on release (not before)
Kepler (the planet ship) the Pavel Razee is frozen - may get in may not get in we dont know. It kinda does look strange.

The rest from your list be provided in some or another form on release and maybe before.

Some of these ships were player voted vessels and some were added by us. Several unpainted raw hulls for those vessels were provided by players like Ragnar and Bungee. 

Christian V11 could become a reward ship for one of the quest lines (nordic one) - it wont become a premium ship because of our promise of no premiums above the 3rd rate.
Le Hermione and Wasa will definitely be premium vessels. We are not sure about Prince de Neuf... It is beautiful but might be needed to plug a gap in the scout ship lineup. 2 more premium vessels will be taken from current line up. There will be 4 premium ships. 

Total 2013-2017 Establishment

• 45 combat ships in game (finished and unfinished) including the variants .
• 41 excluding the variations like pirate frigate. It is 400% above of original promise of 10 ships
• (we do not count trader lynx and similar types in the list as they are just ungunned variants)

Plans and the state of shipbuilding

We have 45 unique combat vessels in game. We originally promised 10 for early access content and we over delivered it 400%, It was possible to player support, likes, clapping, applause. Thank you for helping to make it happen. 

Short term plans
We are not working on any more vessels because we are not sure about the sales results on release (which depend on reviews). We don't even hear praise for ships any more. Some players are even claiming that new ships are not content and everything is just trash..There are some people who made up stories for themselves that  we are hiding some huge reserve of ships somewhere to blackmail them. There are no more new ships in hiding or in development. None.

To change the situation you have to raise your voice (if you came here "because ships"). next time you hear someone talking about lack of content remind them how many new ships were added since release and point to the fact that ships ARE content and also take time to develop.  Speak up, leave the review, tell us that you want new vessels, and help to balance the negative energy with positive.

Do I have to pay real money once to unlock it or its blueprint or do I pay for each durability? Will those ships be stronger or generate more XP/gold income?

They truelly are.

Sometime ago i 'rediscovered' the surprise. Due to the amount of large frigates and renommee's as well as rattle's, i found her an excellent ship to counter the fast downwind frigs. Enough firepower to go in close combat, agile enough to outmanouvre them, and fast enough at 90 degree to sail away^^

@admin What going on with the kickstarter ship pack? I know it got screamed down by selfish people who wanted their ships in first. But is such a campaign still considered?

HMS Surprise is indeed great. I also like it to use her without her weatherdeck guns, carrying only 24 guns (on her gundeck) + her chasers.

The ship I lately "rediscovered" is Le Gros Ventre. She's just beautiful !!!

I always found lgv's rather strong, but i never really had the chance to utilize them. I think i just might give her a try soon

 

I recall some time ago we decided to move some cargo in out indiaman, we thought enemies were arouns so we created a 16 man indiaman convoy (we also had 16 ships worth of cargo with ua). The enemy had about 12 guys in heavy frigs and 4th rates, they didnt dare to attack us^^. Just a little anekdote that comes to show quite some ships are loved and truesured by the players.

Looking forward to testing an Indiaman. Haven't yet...

There should be more love threads (about ships and other awesome NA features). I remember an OW landscape thread back when I haven't had access to it yet. It was amazing. It made me want so much to be able to sail in OW. OW looks so beautiful btw.

QUEST LINES?  Does this mean we will maybe have a story missions to go with the game upon release?  I really hope you don't make the Prince de Neuf a Prem ship, it's one of the ones I"m looking for to fill a certain spot.  By looks it would fall around the Cerberus and Nigeria spot to maybe close in that odd gap in level of ships right there.  

I'll be sad that I'll never get to play the Le Hemione/San Cecillia since one is going to be a Prem ship and I don't do Prem stuff and the other is going to be a Dev reward only ship (only folks on PvP2 that built one the few hours we had the BP have one....we never get rewards on that server).

We know Santa Cecilia is a Dev reward ship, but I was hoping we got the Le Hermione as a common player ship and not some Prem ship I'll have to pay for it I want it in game.  To me Prem ships should be re-skinned ships you can get in game but have special paints/looks to them.   They should never be any ship that is seen as META/STRONGER than any other ship in it's class.

The LGV makes a great trader hunter cause it's the same speed or faster than most of them and can carry decent guns to fight and than loaded with all gold board mods you make short work of any ship.  I taken Trincs with mine too, but I do run it with two frigates in the fleet or two suprises to help run down ships and capture them cause of the lack of bow guns.  You need to run area control too so you keep them in battle.  Was so glad when that stupid Courage perk was removed cause folks would just pop out when your moving to get to board a ship and haven't tagged them in a set time.

Now that Indiaman is going to be interesting as a convy ship now that you can have up to three of them in your fleet and make cargo runs.   We did this with the treasure ship events had about 20 of them out with a few guys as taggers and scouts around us and a few combat escort ships.

I think you are talking about two different ships

• Santa Cecilia is a British/Spanish vessel (previously known as Hermione or Bloody Hermione)
• L Hermione is a french frigate at one time commanded by Laperouse, and famous for bringing general La fayette to support the american revolution. 

Santa Cecilia will remain a rare gift ship

See I thought it was the same ship cause in the past folks have left off the L and just stated Hermione is being worked on so I figure it was a reskin ships of before it was turned over to the Spanish.  

So in other words I'll prob never see the Santa Cecillia in my own hands unless I capture one.....and well I'm a pirate so that isn't out of the book lol

Yea 2 different ships at different times. 30ish years apart. Read up on the Santa Cecilia wiki, it's an interesting story. If you're an Aubrey fan, O'Brien put a little twist on it in relation to the surprise.

Many here, myself included, have had very strong differences of opinion regarding the direction development should take. I have often been unhappy about some of the decisions and changes that were made, and didn't refrain from saying as much on these pages. But if there's one aspect of this game where you never failed to deliver and have been making this virtual captain a very happy one, it is ships. You deserve nothing but praise for both the variety, selection and quality of the implementation. 

Of course there'll always be room (and need) for more, with many nations hoping to see their iconic ships make it into the list, but don't let what is missing (for now) overshadow what we already have, which is bloody awesome and worthy of high praise !

Admin can confirm, but it seems to suggest they won't be available until the game is released. I will miss my Wasa dearly though...

 

EDIT: I was really excited at the thought of getting more ships, saddened to hear there are no plans to release more ships for next patch. Might I be able to ask for ship balancing? So we don't have ships some being overly oppressive against any others in their class? Such as the Aggie winning against any other 4th rate currently.

Oh man, you should not be unsure about the Prince.

Nevermind whether she's beauty or ugly, she brings an unprecedented amount of firepower to the shallow-water fore-and-aft game. It would actually expand the possibilities of the light ship hunting playstyle in a big way, and become one of the most popular vessels.

 

Compared to Prince, the other vessels are just a pretty face.
