  1. They have pills for that. Perhaps we can lobby for DLC pills?
  2. Just a sanity check, thanks.
  3. OK honest question here @Hethwill the Harmless ......isn't this what the Tavern is for? Off-topic banter or non-NA-specific discussions that the community is interested in? Where else on this forum would you post a thread like this that others are probably interested in? Almost every forum has such a category, this one just happens to be called Tavern, a place where friends and acquaintances sit down to relax and discuss unrelated non-stressful thoughts and philosophies. I thought this was such a place but maybe I missed it?
  4. This is a bit of a sarcastic suggestion (....right? ), but actually brings up a good point. Reinforces a lot of previous suggestions of wouldn't it be great to have DLC paints for sails, DLC flags content, ships paints, etc? That is the one DLC I would probably invest in for this game. Frankly it might actually make the ruining Req a bearable evil in this game if you get sunk by one with fantastic looking sails?
  5. Which is why I chuckle every time I see some chest-beating pvp player telling others how they shouldn't be attacking AI because it's so easy and not a challenge and how unworthy they are, when all they're doing is picking easy prey and not a challenge and calling themselves superior because it's pvp. lol. Oh, but of course the excuse is now because in war, you're supposed to plan your advantage, that's why they can do it. Again, not solved by splitting servers, although those that actually do want a real challenge would be together, all 12 of them.
  6. The numbers of players in this game seems inversely proportional to the number of Requin [negative] threads on this forum. Not a surprise though, just look on the Steam reviews, they don't lie, because there are no repercussions from your statements since the mods here can't delete their comments like they do here, and people are exiting the game so handing out the actual truth. And the common theme now on those reviews is DLC is ruining the game. It isn't an NA server issue, and splitting the servers again won't help this game. The issue is obvious to those with eyes.
  7. I thought your post was a good summary. These first 3 points you made have very little to do with the game mechanics, but a whole lot to do with the NA community of players. There are good reasons why so many Steam reviews accuse NA community of being toxic, and these 3 points explain much of it. Surely a lot of truth to it, or the reviews wouldn't keep saying the same thing.
  8. Agree, that would be a nice feature. Might throw wrenches into certain meta too in addition to just being fun.
  9. Nothing wrong with cutters for any rank. If you don't like that they may not lose anything, then maybe you should suggest they have to buy them once they hit a certain rank. Otherwise, totally disagree. Any you can't avoid combat in a cutter, you can be tagged like anyone else, and many people have things of value on their cutter as they transport them.
  10. Daytime French or Nighttime French has no meaning. It's day time and night time somewhere all at once. We are one nation, get over it, you're trolling. Shoot me though, French nation, because I haven't participated in any of the port battles.
  11. Are you responding to me HW? You didn't quote who. However, I think personally my comment was clear, whether or not you tend to agree. My point is very simple, if you don't really "feel" the loss then you are encouraged to fight more, or at least not dis-couraged. The other relevant discussion though is mods that you put on the ship, whether lost or not.
  12. I am in the camp that agrees with you there. DLC ships are in effect the same as multi-dura ships, with the exception that they are currently OP and should not be. But people are saying it increases pvp. Well it's clear to me that's because they know they get another one after the loss. Same as multi-dura. Without a real effect on the economy we might as well have the multi-dura ships back.
  13. We had that. Abandoned, but I don't know why. I agree with you, too many repairs IMO.
  14. Speaking mostly of your option #4. Their won't be 1-man clans as port owners, we went over that in another thread a couple months ago. Most casual or solo players do have their own 1-man or even 2-man clans, but they won't be port owners.
  15. That's how life works. Your vote cancels mine, sometimes, and not all are educated on the issues. Why should this be different? Others' opinions matter as much as yours (speaking of voting in the game), if they bought the game.
  16. This would stomp on the casual players. Again. I can't see that being good for that crowd honestly.
  17. I failed Endurance 3 times. OK, I am mostly trade, not pvp, and admittedly I suck at battles (all types), but on my last attempt I probably would've won the second ship if I had more repairs. I sunk the first one, not board, but I was too engaged in the battle to think of looting, and I had no repairs to finish up. Someone told me afterwards I could loot the ship, it just never occurred to me, and I'm sure such stupidity is not an isolated case. The tip: if you sink the first ship of the Endurance exam instead of board it, go loot it first for repairs before taking on the second one.
  18. I have a few left on both servers. I feared to retrieve them, lest I never see one again.
  19. Great potential for the game. But...not enough players, and only 7 years away in development.
  20. That's very true. You know, the flipside to that is it might make rvr more important and also discourage nation flipping?
  21. It's not really their fault (the hunters). They are kind of forced to use what's now available and common on the OS. The sweeteneness is made too attractive to ignore, so mechanics must overcome this, and right now they don't. Encouraged actually, with such tools as Le Req and Herc.
  22. Frankly, it wasn't perfect but I thought the only major flaw in the previous alliance system was the unfortunate state of the permalliances. That part was bad. I was never a member of any large clan, but the national majority should be able to vote on war and alliances IMO. Clan members will naturally vote with their clan politics for the most part. Solve the permalliance issue, perhaps allow clan wars as well, and the system could work. I wouldn't be opposed to RNG wars dictated by Admiralty either, as suggested above.
