  1. No it is not a pvp server. It is a pve server. Most people playing the game and most people on this server do pve, therefore it is a pve server. However, it is pvp-enabled, for the few that want to engage in it. That's not the same thing. It's not a popular fact, but many facts are inconvenient to those who close their eyes.
  2. I'm not sure how the DLC is intended to work. What we have had in the past is whole clans nation jumping to change the game dynamics. I can tell you twice this happened in Global France and it destroyed the nation both times. IMHO, if the game were to go to a quarterly battle of nations with an ensuing reset, then nation jumping should not be allowed until at least the quarterly reset period.
  3. It could be a fun way to proceed, but just foreseeing that it would likely cause much more of the nation jumping problems that we've had in the past, especially with the nation-jump-enabling DLC that's available.
  4. Routine map reset intervals, such as quarterly, have indeed been suggested and discussed here on this forum in the past. In terms of creating an end game goal, and eliminating staleness. Also in terms of attempting to balance nation populations. Nothing has ever come of it, and I don't think developers have any interest. Personally I think it has merits, but this game in fact has no career or end-game facets to it now, so it's a stretch.
  5. Pretty cool stuff. However, your column sorting does not seem to be working correctly. Was I doing something wrong?
  6. It's not short term. It's been years, and there is already sounds in the game. Why are you arguing with me on a suggestion? If you don't like it, then just say you don't like it, don't argue with me about it.
  7. If you have nothing to add to the discussion on music, then go away. This is a discussion on music in the interface, not your input on other things. It's not my vision for the game anyway. It's a suggestion to make the game more pleasant overall. Not sure why that's bad, or why you have to choose between that and a tutorial. I don't choose between tires and a steering wheel on my car.
  8. Ah, I see yes you did suggest it before. I agree with you, the design team has zero vision and does not care. I didn't expect them to respond, was more for others' input. Actually I expected them to just shut the thread down like that last time I made a suggestion, to which they got a negative review with dozens of likes.
  9. How about some background music options for when you are in port or sailing OW? Could be just part of the game on the client side, and play from your own machine, with some in-game controls. I know you can play your own, but a collection selected from design might be nice.
  10. The steam reviews aren't negative or positive, they are a recommendation to buy the game or not. Many with thumbs down have very positive comments in them about the game. Bottom line is, given the experience of the player whether they would recommend someone else buy the game. In the extreme the game could be awesome but if it was $200 I wouldn't recommend it, it isn't a negative review. You should be encouraging people to be honest, not make blind statements because you recommend the game. Frankly when I read the comments on Steam, looks to me like the developers of this game cause a large portion of the thumbs down to begin with. Maybe send them a private note encouraging them to change their ways and provide some good PR.
  11. You can use my dock spaces if you like. I'll give them back, promise.
  12. @admin can you state the nature of the chain limitation? Number of rounds for each cannon? Total weight of chain prorated to ship class or size? Or hold size? The OP does not state the nature of the limitation, maybe you don't know at this point? More details would help with a more fruitful discussion. Maybe I missed it, I didn't see that discussed.
  13. The rise and fall of player numbers on PVE server during EST (when I play) seems to match the curve on the Carribean server, just lower numbers overall by comparison. The number of overall players on PVE it seems has also declined consistently with the declining numbers on Carribean. In other words, player numbers are a game issue, not a server issue.
  14. This vote is not valid here on this forum. Anyone can answer, even those who don't even have a character on PVE server or never play the one they might have. Therefore the integrity of the vote is in question. The only way to get an accurate answer is to poll people within the PVE server during game and after a certain amount of hours of gameplay there. I voted anyway but I do play both servers.
  15. I do both. But they are not mutually exclusive. You can have buildings and also use the trader.
  16. Personally I'd like to see Building Tycoon as a career path. Governed by XP for those of a mind to be the resource producer for the clan. Some clan members are more pve oriented and can stay engaged in the game, while providing for the ship crafters of the clan. I have an entire system worked out, but it would likely get ignored like most other suggestions it seems, so not worth the time to write it up. Like the OP I don't want to go the alt route either. So for that type of player, yes the 5 buildings is a limitation.
  17. I wouldn't mind, because I play on both servers. But I do think he's probably right.
  18. Yes. A working economy with an improved contract system for all ports is the beginning of the right focus, not whether or not there should be green zones. If the economy actually worked and traders were encouraged to use the whole map then the problem would mostly be addressed. As primarily a trader, that's my view of why I will sail the OW. PVP has nothing to do with it, a trader trades where the opportunities present themselves.
  19. No, has nothing whatsoever to do with it unless you don't understand the words at all. Doubt that's the case.
  20. I agree, typing the port name itself would be better than typing the word delete, which could apply to any port you have as an outpost. On the other hand, reading comprehension is taught in grade school, so you have no excuse for making this mistake, other than you weren't paying attention to what you were reading. Agree.
  21. I can find no fault in that statement, which is to say I suppose I agree with that.
