Flags Flags Flags

I don't understand something . Why DLC ? That's why you lose players , make free content too . For example you put DLC ships like Hercules or others , but flag DLC could be free , maybe if you want to set a costumased flags (clan flags , ecc.) you have to pay .

Another think , remove the ensign flags from masts (already asked this) , make for players the possibility to chose flags on their masts or remove them completely. In real life ships could have nation flags on all the masts or communicate thru ensign flags .

flags will also be found in loot and missions

Only interesting for you this flag….See not interest...

That's a matter of taste... Some are 'sealed' from any kind of knowledge...

However, it doesn't answer my objective question : why did you propose an Infantry flag (!) and out-of-timeframe flags for France in this thread ? Why did you post an Infantry flag used during the 17-18th century, selling it as a Napoleonic naval ensign ?

Anybody can make mistakes. And however your enthusiasm is nice.

You could also have answered me (instead of 'trolling' my Napoleonic ensign) : 'Because I'd rather have an Infantry flag on my French ('royal') ships instead of the historical white one'. That would have been a good argument. Then I would have been able to answer that IMHO, with this flag DLC, France finds itself in a sad situation for the 1680-1790 period, deprived of her main flag (not to say her almost only one), only having :

  • the ensign of the galleys. Galleys ?
  • the  flag of the colonial Infantry. Infantry ?
  • Louis XVI's ensign

Thx for this debate. Have a nice day.

I think we all know that Game Labs is an economic company that has to make money. So I think selling cosmetic items is one of the things that least disturbs the gameplay. Nobody needs the flags to be competitive and nobody has a disadvantage if he does not have this DLC.
In my opinion an ideal solution. Special clan flags, for other masts, why not as an additional commercially available DLC?

Not a napoleonic flag i agree…. But Marine Royale and not simply ...Infantry as you said.

They are infantry woking for the Navy, meaning watching ports, ships, fighting on ships, in garrisons in colonies (...) but their flag was not a naval ensign fluttering on the mast of a ship, right ? Or did I miss something ? That'a a genuine question.

Excuse me….Bucentaure was not uder Napoleon??? You are sure? Why you speak only of period 1680-1790 ?? Oo

I talk only about the period 1680-1790 because it is the period that causes problem IMHO.

The rest of NA timeframe (1790-1830) seems well-endowed in this DLC with :

  • the ensign called 'Naval ensign 1790' by GL for the Revolution (1789-1799)
  • the plain tricolor flag for the end of the Revolution, the Consulate and the Empire (1799-1814/5)
  • the ensign called 'Royal Ensign' by GL for the Bourbon Restauration (white with fleur de lis) : 1815-1830

Pls ..before try to troll all Flags propositions… Make your propositions

I really don't want to troll, I just want to calmly debate. No harm intended.  I think I've made my propositions in this thread. If I were a Mod or Admin, I would even say that I flooded this thread with my propositions. 🙂

Future flag additions will be added to the Naval Action Flags DLC for free and will unlock automatically.

we know we need to add merchant french and some others but do not have time now.
Please propose in this topic if we missed anything

why  are the red and blue ensigns .. all pre 1800 ..

King George III's proclamation of 1 January 1801 concerning the arms and flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland:

And that the Union Flag shall be Azure, the Crosses Saltires of St. Andrew and St. Patrick Quarterly per Saltire, counterchanged Argent and Gules; the latter fimbriated of the Second, surmounted by the Cross of St. George of the Third, fimbriated as the Saltire :

your missing the flag the royal navy flew at trafalagar and all the great naval battles of that era

the union flag in the corner should have the st patrick cross in it

Not all flags, and not allships, are post-1800.  Naval Action is set in a range of years.

just  seems a strange choice to have GB flags from 1625 .. i dont think they are any ships in game from 1600s?   yet to miss correct flag for era that most of in game ships sailed in ?

im assuming the current in game white ensign will remain ... and not be replaced by pre 1800

Are Flags still going to be found in loot, sealed bottles, and chest rewards?

Or will they only be available from the DLC now?

Обратите внимание на Кристофера Кондента, мы ведь не просим вас о сверхестественном, просто сделайте счастье для нас простых пиратов и людей, вы же любите свою игру как и мы, и поправте наконец иконки серебра и золота а то ёлка нарисована.

whats the point of having these flags as dlc when u can already alter the game files to display ur own customizable nation flag that is only visible on ur screen and those that have the same modification. if the devs want to add something worthwhile bring back paint schemes for the ships or sail color packs or even crests for the mail sails. something that would be worth spending money on.

You can only see flags of your nation in whatever menu where you choose what flag to carry, or you can only see flags (variety) of your own nation, period?

I mean, if I'm in a battle with Russians against Prussians: Will I be able to see any dlc-flags carried by players on the Prussian side? Or only the dlc-flags carried by Russians in the battle?

Also: What if we join a battle that's ongoing between two other nations? Will we retain our DLC-flags in those battles, or will we carry the standard flag of whatever nation's side we join?

1 You will see alternate flags on ships if owner has chosen the alternate flag on both sides (enemy and yours)
2 If you join an ongoing battle for other nation you will use the standard flag of that nation.

DLC is for those who WANT others to see their amazing flag, for the purpose of pride or to generate confusion.

but it kind of defeats the purpose when most of the veteran players can already tell which nation a specific clan is with the whole flag thing is rather pointless, especially since u can check which players joined and what rank they are at u can pretty much instantly tell what nation they belong to.

we dont have enough players to really make a flag dlc worth having at this stage. all its going to do is make peoples flags more nice to look at but they give nothing really to the gameplay
