  1. we do realise its not actually a material patch. They cant just "cut it in half" and sew on the pink bit and then do the blue bit next week? Just saying....
  2. Sirs, I Charles Twunt would like to convey the sincere apologies of every right thinking English man to the good people of Mugeres. As we seek to spread the kind words and protection of his gracious majesty the King through the Caribbean Sea our mission seems to have been some what interrupted by some American sailors who seem to have got lost. As we came in peace to the small island gem that is Mugeres, obviously in a large and heavily armed fleet we came across numerous American "sailors" who seem to think this place is an extension of the Florida keys. Whilst obviously their lubberly navigation skills were to blame for such an error their tenacious refusal to accept RN navigational assistance back northwards has been both admirable and regrettable. Admirable in their willingness to run out their great guns (although clearly we came in peace, repeatedly) but regrettable in the impact is having on the good citizens of Mugeres. I have heard it said that the only people in Mugeres prospering currently are Messrs James Martello and sons, a tower building company. I urge the poor lost American souls to accept our assistance in going home to their rebellious families and leaving the poor orphans of Mugeres to benefit from the largesse of the King. God save the King!
  3. My goodness, it would have to be YUUUUUUGE!
  4. Very good idea. My afk cruise last night was only saved when I heard cannon fire. Obviously I flogged the watch....
  5. The devs are doing a fantastic job and plenty more content is coming that's not combat based, eg production and buildings. Also its a multiplayer game so a lot of things you want can be achieved just by using your imagination and chat channels.... Ask your local crafters what resources they want... Get out there find them and bring them for them. Hire players as escorts if you are worried about enemy players attacking your trader. Also don't expect his content growth in a mere couple of weeks. As you say it's early access. Log off take a chill and come back in a few weeks of you are flagging. BTW I totally agree with you about all the people desperate to get to the "top" level and ship. For me that's not what this is about at all. It's very early days and I can't wait to watch this develop. For one thing the map has only just really started now that most neutral ports are gone. Another week or so and we shall really see what develops in the PVP sense...
  6. yeah I would have morale go down as well as up. So surrendering / being defeated would reduce things.
  7. Surely if you want action you Can move to am area where there is more action? Why should the action "come to you"?
  8. No that's not the bonus but the level example of WHEN the bonus would start. Eg, when your crew bond had reached 130% of Base morale then the sail handling bonus would kick in (whatever the bonus was)
  9. I was just thinking about immersion and "anti grind" yesterday and I had an idea. What if you could develop a relationship with your crew and build up a band of brothers mentality. The way it worked was you would begin add normal and after a few victorious battles your crew would stay to bond with you. After that point every victory would add 1 point to Base moral to say a 200% maximum. This bonus would help in boarding and also give other bonuses added at certain percentages (I.E 130% faster sail handling, 160% faster reloads, 190% higher top speed & turn) BUT if you betray your crew for promotion by moving to a bigger / different ship, you go back to zero again as you have to win over a new crew. This would be a reason to stick with ships and not just constantly jump up to the next one. Thoughts?
  10. If you want to sign up and help combat the Yankee rebels out West, please feel free to join us and serve the crown!
  11. Woooot! Good luck dev team... This should be amazing!
  12. Loads of this sounds fantastic. Great job team. If masts are repairable please make it some kind of jury rigged mast that performs terribly. Miracle mast repairs would be depressing!
  13. In keeping with the period vibe can I suggest something instead of just banning? The navy of the period (and indeed now) are totally rank reliant. So If "grief boarder" is highest rank present, that's just touch luck... Cue cursing the brass hats and gold braid brigade. If grief boarder is NOT top rank present, then demote them one rank. If they repeat offend they keep getting demoted. If they are demoted to bottom rank (maybe twice?) then they are banned?
  14. yeah me too.... I get that Then this: Then currently its just stuck there... Then finally this:
  15. Where did they find the Oak? How much did they have to pay for it? Jokes aside, I love the Hermione, great job to all involved!
  16. very interesting... it looked horrendously brutal!
  17. "A square meal" comes from the square plates the RN used. "Larking About" comes from the young midshipmen going aloft and "skylarking" in the high rigging.
  18. haha, i hope you have your subwoofers hooked up too for that real cannon rumble....
  19. I would like severe weather as a "change up" mechanic, but certainly not on a common basis. It should be pretty rare to encounter
  20. also to save time on boarding, cut out the ball! Chain > Grape > Board. Just aim the grape carefully onto the decks of the enemy (not into its sides). Use the roll of the sea and aim above the rails
  21. They shouldn't just sit there they should be firing grape to support the boarding. Also if the boarding action fails they can immediately board afterwards to finish the enemy ship off. So in some very useful ways we already have multiple boarding.
