  1. Congratulations to the fleet. This scourge on good seamen, must be defeated.
  2. welcome to the British seas! Look out for the Swedes, they are a rum lot... Your servant, Charles Ushant Nathaniel Twunt....
  3. its NOT ridiculous.. The chat / attack stuff happens all the time to me... I have narrowly avoided this a couple of times. Also I don't see why you cant cancel an attack before it starts, by pressing escape or something. The "are you sure you want to attack" should default to CANCEL if you press enter. You should have to mouse click or cursor choose attack or something.
  4. Also it says "Cables and Howsers" not Cables and Hawsers" like it should (it should be A in hawsers not O)
  5. agreed. Especially attitude. I am a 50% navigator... sometimes I arrive at my destination, other times I arrive somewhere completely different.... But yes, getting lost is an adventure and it allows me to explore new areas too....
  6. We MUST wipe the seas clean of these accursed pirates! Twice in two days I have been attacked.! How can a good British citizen attack French traders in peace, with these rogues all around!
  7. So far so Amazing! Keep up the great work!
  8. Anyone know how to get Windows 10 64 bit "Text to speech" voice pack in a male voice? The 2 default options are both female which ruins things for a Voice Attack Text To Speech order confirmations....
  9. Charles Ushant Nathaniel Twunt has sailed to the Indies to find his fortune with the British West Indies Company
  10. I have heard the exceptional ships will be nuclear powered fleet carriers? Is this true?
  11. I've said it before but GREAT JOB devs! I love the game so far... and if this was ALPHA, then bring on EA Beta! wooohhoooo!! Time to think of a new Captain name for the real game!
  12. As new RN recruit Tarquin Horace Smith ventured from Port Royal for the first time to Saint Nick and Port Le Paix, he was met by the gracious gentleman known as Captain "Falcon". Tarquin was on his pleasure yacht, used for transporting messages and personnel around the theatre, and dint have anything resembling a man of war useable. Falcon generously took 50,000 from his own pocket to purchase Tarquin a state of the art Renomee hence to be called "The Fighting Falcon", his first Frigate rated command! Swiftly upgunned, it was still direly undermanned when the two set out for action. After engaging in some admiralty business, and soon putting some pirate privateers to flight, they emerged near Port De Paix to find a RN small force in trouble having been engaged by Pirates. Captain Blood, sailing a Constitution class super frigate, escorted by Scallion and a few others were in trouble having been set upon by BIA Pirates commanded by a 3rd SOL! Hugely outgunned, though the RN were Falcon and Tarquin threw themselves into the action, even though the frigate only commanded 160 men of its 240 complement, and both ships were damaged from their previous engagement. Sailing into the heart of the battle, lead nobly by Captain Blood who put his ship on the line numerous times to bravely engage the 3rd Rate, Falcon followed him through the fire-storm doing significant damage in his RN Frigate. Soon the pirate fleet was shattered by smaller but more numerous and determined RN forces. A Cerberus fled for the hills, leaving the 3rd rate and its close escort a Trincomalee class frigate to fight. Like a pack of hounds attacking a bear, the RN closed heroically. Captain Blood finally lost the ability to move the mountains of water his crew had been pumping and slowly went down, and in my first fleet engagement, Tarquin found himself alone against the two huge pirate ships! Swiftly turned to matchsticks the "Fighting Falcon" fought on while the RN fleet regrouped and chased down the remaining two pirates. Once they were in range a rapidly sinking Tarquin beat a "tactical retreat" by putting on all sail and running, while the remnants of the RN force lead on by Scallion and Falcon, surrounded and finished off the wounded giant. As the 3rd rate went down, the escort used its chance to slip away. Let this be a lesson to the pirate hoards out there, the RN wont back down from a fight, and Ships of the Line are for his Majesties forces and we wont let pirate scum steal them from him! Thanks again to Falcon for his generosity of both funds and time, for allowing me to take part in my first large scale PVP battle. What a great game!
  13. Is Port Royal a good place to be based for national operations? Or is it a good idea to get an outpost somewhere else?
  14. As an update I have a slightly bigger ship now and was also in a fairly big battle. The smoke and gun flashes (mainly the smoke) combined with rolling canon thunder is awesome. It's great! Keep up the good work. The fleet npc hired ai can be a bit annoying but hey they are hired morons I guess!
  15. Its a great game so far! I too bought it as a self present! (yay!) and I just captured a ship yesterday for the first time. It was a real thrill, sailing right next to the other ship. It would be nice if the boarding mechanic got some extra "visual pazzazz" later on to spice it up, but I understand thats not very important currently! Keep up the good work devs!
  16. Just tried to log in, looking forward to more exploration and testing and it says server is down for maintenance. Is there anywhere you can find server info? Is it a 10 minute reboot or a 6 hour close down?
  17. In the game now, as Tarquin Horace Smith, captaining my yacht with little idea what to do! I had my first win in a mission though, hurrah! Based in Kingston obviously and just trying to find my feet. Love it so far.
  18. Well I just got the game on pre order via paypal, so give or take install issues and then Xmas away the RN should have a new recruit shortly..! Any tips as to what I should do to get started? Any Youtube guides or good starting posts?
