Update to this, I only get points against the nation whose flag is shown on the VS screen.  Just had a battle vs "Russia" with Russian, German and USA ships.  1 ship sunk of all three for a total of 431 VP.  Only the war against Russia had those added.

Just ran across an interesting naming scheme.  Multiple nations are doing this.  Germany has a Friedrich der Grosse class BB, but its name is BB-2245.

My question is, how do I do this? 

Also, would be cool if we could have hull numbers on the ships in game and in the UI.  Like "USS New Jersey BB-62" for example.

That happens when the game runs out of ships on the named ship list for a county, it just starts assigning numbers as the names instead.

annoyingly you have to set it up for every single ship by double clicking its name on the "fleet" tab

 

highly highly annoying. wish there was an option to set Class and then set up another for "Ship Naming Scheme", but its not high in priority even for me

 

one thing i wish for is in the Build Ship tab, we can create folders for anything like, "1891 --> Cruiser ---> Among Us 42"

 

instead of

etc etc to finally find Among Us 42... i hope that we can get folders that can be built onto folders for the building ship tab as a person that is insane with making everything sorted and neat

That is unfortunate.  This smells like a modding opportunity to me, unfortunately, I lack the skills for it

There is a file in resources.assets called shipNames. It has over 6200 lines of (countries)names

@Nick Thomadis

East Asia and Sea of Japan popup windows are pretty large and sometimes blocks out TF info and ports. I believe you fixed a few of those popups earlier (atleast they're better now) so thanks for that.

I've checked around the map, and can't really see anywhere else where they pose a big problem

Interesting.  I don't think this was my situation, but I will check on that the next time I'm able to get to the game.
Would be interesting if that is the cause however, since I've had numerous requests for ally ships put me over build limit before, and haven't had this issue until now.

Heard about improvements and play a little. Yeah, i know i should wait more time 😞

 

Woah, enemy treated port Spalato! Look like there's no ship aside one CA, so we should last stand with our 10x defenceless TR!

Also, look like there's no enemy ships near, so enemy shouldn't attack here...

But meh, brave AI can't be stopped with so little things! He just teleport his fleet from La-Manche and return it back after battle! And repeat it for next mission.

This explains why the AI sits in one place, even if there is enough fuel.

I've had a few moments like this, but for the most part it's screen/scout. But in general, things are bad, out of several dozens of today's battles with TFs, there was only one case when they all moved. In most cases, 1-2 ships are moving in the group, the rest are standing still for no apparent reason. Single ships almost always behave normally.

One thing I notice since for a long time is that it appears to me that you are only really at war with one nation.

Aka that while you are technically maybe in war with many nation the game only generates missions against one.

Alliance warfare seems to be the biggest weakness of the game right now, in terms of campaign.

Wars escalate fast into constant war worlds, because the way one war always effects everyone relation ships. then we don't really have proper alliances because we don't end wars together but every nation (and AI nation rarely seem to end wars with each other) makes separate peace (something that was ironout during the 19th century, since no one was keen to accept that anymore).

I've got some quick campaign battle feedback here.
Like pretty much everyone else, I've been mining the hell out of the waters surrounding my ports, and I've occasionally damaged a few enemy warships quite badly. The most recent victim was the Russian CL Kuban, who took about 15% hull damage, and 35.1% crew damage. Since the ship wasn't too badly damage, she was allowed to continue her sortie.
Fast forward a few months, and my fleet's run into Kuban again. Except this time, she didn't get off with just a mine hit. Instead, she surrendered at the beginning of combat due to high crew loses.

This isn't the first time this has happened this campaign, I've run into similar issues in my previous war against Russia, over a decade ago. it seems that some AI nations just don't maintain their ships well enough. I know there is a historical precedent for the Soviet/Russian Navy taking poor care of its units (See: Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Moskva) but in this scenario, it's kinda detracting from the gameplay.
I didn't mind too much in the case of Kuban, as she's got a half knot speed advantage, and would have probably escaped despite her existing damage, but if it was a 1v1 between one of my 100,000 ton BB's and the largest unit the Russians could field? I'd be a bit disappointed.

It's the ship avoidance command. If two ships are too close to each other they both stop and don't move. in 95% of the cases thats the reason. But I also have this sometimes even with avoidance off, then I have to turn it on and suddenly the ship speeds up with it's last remembered speed like it was stopped in time prior to this. Then you disable the avoidance again and suddenly the ship gets frozen again. It's quite strange.

try disable "avoid" option, for me if ship is close to the other ship and have this option, the AI try to avoid it(even if both ships are in this same formation), by not moving ship. (this ended in situation when 2 ships are too close to each other and they simply stay in one place).

If the other ship is 500m close to the ship, ship will stop. When we will apply this "if" to both ships we have a statement/situation when the ships are too close to each other and they don't move to not touch other ship. 

 

I guessing here. I rarely using the formations, especially screen etc.

Includes after changing command to 'following' too, it got broken in hotfix 13, here's the changelog...

But - "Still needs work".

Though it would seem sometimes, "changelog" and "hotfix" are the one and the same, but a changelog can still be a WIP (todo's).

But as @Plazma said, toggle 'Auto-Avoid' to clear bug.

So I captured all of AH's ports and now the game soft locks when I end turn, hanging on "update missions". I'm hoping that if I eliminate their sea fleets or cause a collapse via home territory conquest this will go away, but until then I have to quit to main menu and reload to advance to the next turn. Also, N invasions are not progressing though L invasions are.

I always enter battle defaulting all avoidance to OFF. And, until they ever fix it, I don't like Screens either. All that does is place a whole bunch of valuable ships in the path of incoming fire on me.

- Fixed more bugs that were reported for the campaign. Please start a new campaign if any of the problems you noticed persist.
- Fixed case of Major Offensives not ending after a peace treaty.
- Fixed issue that could cause auto-design errors when mounting guns in funnel parts.
- Fixed overlapping tooltips in the campaign map.
- Shell dispersion improvements, fixing shells which hit to not be so isolated from the rest.
- Fixed bug that caused technologies to lock priorities assigned to them if everything was researched.
- Slight formations fixes. We will try to fix the most crucial bugs in large formations for this patch.
