  1. Japanese Campaign 1890 1 - While at war with China, having the longest range ships with the best engines available ahead of tech, the only options I was given for invasion were Saipan area and Eastern China, the second I am unable to achieve the proper tonnage. This is regardless of where the fleet is positioned. An invasion order should come with all possible coastline options along with required tonnage to accomplish right in the drop-down menu. I can send the fleet later. 2 - The Japanese Fleet by 1910 consists of 3 Dn I's, 6 CAs, 12 CLs and 12 DDs. With all my focus on economy if I sortie 1 BB and 2 CAs I will lose $8 million per month while at peace. This concept flies in the face of Japan having the most advanced, largest fleet in the Pacific by 1905 and even earlier. I can fit the entire thing in Sasebo. The economy is almost as small as the hull sizes. 3 - Even with a proper task force, I have been unable to secure Korea as it is never given to me as an option. Not once. 4 - The United States, however, is gobbling up all neutral territory wherever they stick their fleet, despite the fact it was not in their nature to do so. 5 - France still consistently has a 200+ navy and expands way too rapidly, to the point of ruining the majority of my campaigns. 6 - The minor countries that so generously attach themselves to me are unwanted. I refuse them every ship request. No I'm not building Norway 3 top-of-the-line battleships. Stop asking me. In fact, bug off. The Department of FU has been working furiously for YEARS telling them precisely that, but they will not go away. 7 - Ships that I name by class are duplicating those names still when multiple ships are built. 8 - The game is still freezing up often, mainly during Building Ships, with 2 cases in one campaign while sorting task forces for a battle, sometimes getting into a cycle causing me to dump and reload it several times before it will clear. 9 - The simple fix of moving the latest technology to the top when addressing an item being researched has still not been done. Add to that the year of the historical discovery is left out of old discoveries, a very useful addition that would be. 10 - Components still weigh far too much to fit on proper hulls, no matter how many hulls you add to the game. We're not even putting AA on the ships and still there is no space on a destroyer for more than 1 torpedo launcher. 11 - Destroyer refit times are still way too long. Changing any part on them requires 8 months of refit. 12 - Task Force coordination is often screwed, with me changing follow and screen orders because the flagship decided it wasn't a flagship anymore with the enemy nowhere in sight before a battle starts. 13 - With reported 58%+ to-hit with main guns, they seem to be missing constantly regardless of fire rate. All of these issues I reported 6 months ago and before. All of them provide me no end of frustration. I was hoping for a more refined gaming experience by now. But I'm disappointed.
  2. Land Battles vs China, my Japan has made zero headway in any of them. I honestly see no point in a war with China. I get nothing out of it.
  3. I still have the same problem with naval battles and, overall in general, war. Recently, my Japan went to war with Germany. There were no naval battles at all. I just invaded them until I kicked them out of the Pacific. Then went to peace. Then China gets it. Let me explain the situation here - 1) They are very behind and I'm very advanced, with a fully upgraded fleet of 103 ships. 2) They have 9 ships, are building 48, all vastly inferior to my own. I have lost every naval battle save a single one, regardless of whether I fight it or auto-resolve it. HOW? I'll give you one example... My CA and two DDs get in a match with 1 Chinese CA and a CL. Testing this problem, I lined up directly across from their CA just outside torpedo range. While they are well within mine. The Chinese CA has 7.5" guns I have 8", faster firing than theirs. My 5" guns are in range, also outshooting their mains, they have no secondaries in range. My destroyers, while in smokescreen, are coming under fire from their CA, their CA is hitting every time, each time is flooding damage. I ordered their retreat since the DDs are totally ineffective. Their CL has not been a factor in the fight. The Chinese force have not dodged torpedoes at all, or even maneuvered for that matter, yet every one of mine have missed. It's the mid-1920s, I have very accurate torpedoes with a 9km range, we are at 7km from the CA. At the end of the day, the Chinese won the battle. It was not even close. They did more damage to my CA than I could do to theirs. They hit much more consistently than I could for much more damage than I ever did. And this isn't a lone case. It's happened every battle for weeks now. The only thing I can think, is that the AI is now following a different set of rules than me. Furthermore, having just gave up finally, I decided to just auto-resolve everything since I get the same poor results anyway. And now I'm back to being disappointed in the product because, basically, it's playing itself again. Since there's nothing I can do about it other than complain, that's what I'm doing.
  4. When I choose an option that increases or decreases my unrest, the actual unrest I receive or lose is different than reported. For example: I just chose an option that increased my unrest by 3, but it went up 4.5.
  5. I always thought that they should. Just watching torpedoes detonate in the water at close range because their target was sunk made no sense.
  6. Alright enough of this. Game's broken again. Enemy AI has vast improvements in targeting which go way beyond their tech level, while my AI takes consistent flooding hits from inferior firepower. In fact inferior everything. With a navy that simply can't compete even with technological superiority, it's just not worth playing anymore. Range advantage means nothing. Spotting the enemy first means nothing. Nothing means anything when I can't effing hit the effing target with advanced guns. These design decisions in order to improve....whatnot ... every patch are ONLY making enemy AI deadlier, while reducing the effectiveness of my navies, while at the same time making it impossible to maintain a decent sized navy. Now we're back to square one. Stop doing stupid sh1t.
  7. Game stopped at Prepare for Battle.... Checking for Campaign Saves is taking a long time.
  8. Addition of Modern Armor I, TNT IV, Semi-auto reload and Radar II. No other changes.
  9. Refit times are still harsh. This was a minor refit. Furthermore, cost is huge. I went from a $38 million surplus to -$128 million just refitting 30 cruisers and destroyers. Dang near broke the bank, and these are not major refits.
  10. Shouldn't Unrest work in the following manner? You lose a Conquest - slight unrest increase, and/or perhaps a decrease in Naval Prestige. You win a Conquest - unrest increases as a function of percentage of total population, to represent the unrest in that territory alone, with a set cap on total potential unrest increase at one time. Example - I have 100 million population. I conquer a territory of 1 million population. My unrest goes up 1%. Example 2 - I have 100 million population. I conquer a territory of 100 million population. My unrest increases not at 100%, but at whatever the cap may be, say 34.5 or less. It just seems to be all over the place right now.
  11. Pardon me for asking here but...what exactly does Naval Bombardment do? My Maneuver Warfare tech shows 'Naval Bombardment Tactics +15%'. Is this part of 'Invade Power'? And if it is, shouldn't it just be called that? If it's something else I can't find it in the Help.
  12. No, it's not a bug. It's just cloud movement at top speeds that almost makes me dizzy. And it never seems to be moving at me, just right to left.
  13. I built a few new CAs. Their build time was 16 months. The reason I did this is because the old CAs refit time was 16 months. Turns are progressing very quickly now.
  14. I can no longer afford a 21 ship navy, AND build 12 DDs at the same time in Spain. Those turbo-electrics are killing me.
  15. Please consider the condition of Germany in my Spanish campaign. Germany has suffered one loss as far as provinces, Southern Germany. As usual, when the AI is playing them, France always conquers it. France conquers everything. However, everywhere else in the world they are doing well, having gained moderately in colonies. Yet for some reason they are imploding like a mission to the Titanic. Is this an anomaly of the new economics? Or a feature?
  16. There seems to be a significant delay now when switching tabs on top of the screen, or unloading or loading tech research slots. Turns are significantly longer, especially during Update Research. The turn change sequence is off according to what's happening in the log. For example, Update Relationships the different powers are building and scrapping ships. Update Research, they are provoking and improving relationships.
  17. I'm curious as to why my late-game unrest keeps going up, whether I gain control of a state while at peace or I fail to gain control it? Unrest is increasing 11.5 per attempt.
  18. Another anomaly occurred in my Germany campaign tonight. The turn that the Austro-Hungarians ceased to exist, Spain declared war on me. Not weird under normal circumstances, but in this case they were nearly at war with AH, and I had good positive relations with them. Aside with being caught with the Minister's wife, they should never have done so. They then immediately dissolved. For the 2nd time.
  19. I've been wondering that myself. With Sonar III, should be able to see incoming torpedoes at long ranges. But as soon as fog rolls in, they are coming at me very stealthily.
  20. My hats off to all your experience. Between Barao and Panzergraf, you've been here a lot longer than I have and seen the results of this sort of trashy design hehe. I will replace those guns with 18s soon as I get done repairing. Which will be long after the dismissal of Austria-Hungary from the map. I started building those ships month 1 of the war. It took 41 months to build them and another several for commissioning. AH is reduced now to NW Italy, and it's under an offensive from 2 directions. France joined in and then dissolved with the Japanese North African Campaign that took place. Meanwhile, they're going home for refit.
  21. Switched to HE because I wasn't getting results at all with AP. My secondaries took out the rest of the task force.
