Updates were delivered last week and today, contents can be read here

 

Cumulative hot fix notes for Seasonal Update

  • You can now split hold in the target ship
  • PvP/E Runes
    • Loki rune can now be traded through contracts
    • Loki rune now works on the Peace server for testing
    • Loki rune drops slightly adjusted (it drops only in PVE now)
  • Delivery missions
    • Doubloon reward for delivery missions was brought back and will change randomly depending on demand for transport services.
  • Wind zones slightly redistributed and their max bonuses slightly reduced
  • Loot in general
    • Minimal loot from traders greatly increased
    • Minimal doubloon loot from pvp increased
  • Bugfixes
    • Fixed the bug in the Raiders port battles ticking too much points per tick
    • Fixed the bug that crashed the instance for Raiders port battle
    • Fixed the bug regenerating sealed bottle shipwreck loot
    • Fixed bug that cannons or refits cannot be installed on the ship
    • Localization fixes

Hotfix 31 October.

Today in the hot-fix

  • Tuned Battle Ratings for NPC raider attack which now better correspond the battle ratings for ports 
  • Increased investments points for all ports with the exception of 55 point ports
  • Removed NPC ability to pray to gods and call a player to replace a captain on a Peace server. Loki runes are now useless on the Peace server.

just 2 words about Loki: griefers delight. 

Remove it. Together with the insane PB mechamism. Chances ? Only for large clans having members online immediatedly after maintenance....

Or leave it ingame for taxes and bragging rights...but remove the need to own a port to get port boni.

Any good game doesn#t try to enforce a particular playstyle, but tries to cater to different ones.

You rejoiced too early about not getting a negative feedback about Loki Rune on PvE Peace Server.

People are upset now that first reports come in about other players ruining their ships out of the blue...

And remember, it has been you who in the past always maintained that "principle" that there should be no PvP whatsoever on this server.

But there is a way how to bend this so you also don't drive the population on PvE server away: make it so that Loki Rune ONLY allows players to enter into fleet ships of human captains, so all they can do is help those. That would be in the spirit of this server which you previously helped create.

And of course those 'guests' should not be able to sail away and steal that ship.

Then, and only then, I can imagine Loki Rune could be fun without making people angry.

No chat of course. You are captaining for the NPC. The goal is to make PVE more varied and interesting. 
We wont use forum to make decisions on the big important features. There will be an in-game email or poll. that will ask players on the Peace server if they want to fight for NPCs or not.  The test will run for a week or maybe two, not more..

Loki could be a neat idea on PvP. On PvE it is grief-y. 

Not sure what the goal of it really was, yeah it CAN create some good PvP content.. but there is a whole server where that should be happening. Coupled with AI that have speed reloads and magic damage + arcs of fire (if in a fleet battle) it is too much. 

Make some actual PvE content (convoy escorts/intercepts etc) instead please.

It's really hard to imagine how a mechanic that allows a player to totally anonymously attack another player on a PVE SERVER could be described as "Fair PVP".  I think the devs need a new English language dictionary.  The whole idea is just brain dead to start with, even for PVP,  but especially bad for the PVE server.  If you want to introduce PVP to that server, establish PVP zones off the main trade routes.  Simple deal.

Please remove the Loki Rune from PVE ASAP.

PVE with Loki Runes is not PVE anymore. Just call it all PVP - simple like that.  I can imagine attacking solo 5+ NPC fleets anymore - there will be always real player against me somewhere there and I'm dead ;]  Bad idea with those runes in my opinion. Do separate arena for people who wants to log in only for easy PVP battles. Loki runes could be their passes to get into it and participate in random battles 2v2, 3v3 and so on...

You also might want to change the description for the PVE server on the server choice screen.  It now says "All nations are at peace.  Players cannot attack each other.  There are no port battles and conquest, piracy or profiteering."

You've made that description totally wrong now, and neglected to fix it.

I'd bet that nearly everybody who plays on the PVE server has or still does play on the PVP server.  There's zero need to introduce any of us to PVP.
