The betrayal of the AUSEZ to the British Empire

Recommended Posts

you mean you see our stern, but when you are on the flight?

B)

That would only ne possible if

A ) Our ships would be fleeing in the direction you are fleeing in front of us.

B ) your ships are pursuing us in reverse gear

Both scenarios are Possible yet unlikely;-)

Poor buggers, the new pirate mechanics will be the death of most pirates and the restart and grind back will be a good thing for them to learn of their treachery :P till then we will see how many regret their decisions and come back to the nationalists which ever nation that might be!

tbh "the Grind Back won't be hard", XP stays, gold and ships transferred to alts/trusted mates while you change, then handed back, you then do the same for them etc etc. BP's may be lost but then there's talk of BP's being linked to crafting xp. Wouldn't be surprised if changes do occur that it would be the same time as of the next wipe thats expect to happen. However all said and done that's not really the point of this topic.

In terms of having stuff to do with SORRY, as we are now pirates you will prob see us working together as even as opponents we did have a healthy respect towards each other earned though combat which started back when SORRY was Stars and Stripes and US instead of Pirates. This goes for all/most other pirate clans as we as a clan do tend to be active around the place.

What I heared from AUSEZ, is that they mainly took the step because of the broken mechanic.

That's what they kept saying in nation chat. However, pirate mechanic changes have already been announced, so not waiting them out seems.. unwise.

There are various reasons and all of them are valid.

Our relationship with the council deteriorated very quickly starting a fire under some butts.

The Pirates are broken so making it more obvious might get more action sooner.

Boredom - Rear admirals who want PVP and had limited targets wanted to see if there is a difference in going pirate.

All in all we wanted a change to what we had been doing for the last several months.

In the end it was lack of trust from the council and claims based on limited information and some of our guys getting caught out when things happened we didn't get informed about that triggered it all. We had been advocating that everyone goes black to spur on change to the pirates since even the notion of making pirates "just another nation under the same rules" had not been implemented even though there were obvious issues with their current mechanics.

The last patch actually evened things up a bit but unfortunately we were already on the move due to our diplo issues and people being salty about recent events where we got the short end of the stick through no fault of our own by our view.

Its just a new adventure for us sailing around pixel ships.  Remember it's alpha so breaking and fixing things is a good thing.....we can now highlight things we think are not quite right. Bear in mind we have a collective of players and a collective of games we have played and many of us are hardcore gamers all the way back from Everquest and even text MUDs so we have seen a lot of games issues and such.  The benefits of releasing a fully functioning game vs a badly functioning game are well worth a few salty tears in alpha/beta.

I am not going to say that we are completely being high and noble about our move as there are certainly some grievances but as many on the council know we try to understand the game as much as we try to play it.  The curse of people who Min/Max and do statistical analysis is that we tend to see the underlying flaws and get pissed about them existing after months of advocating for solution.

I can understand and wish to good sailing - no hard feelings

The AUSEZ left because they were getting yelled at by the British to help with other wars when they were busy with the gulf, they were basically botted out of their country by their own country. The exact same thing that happend to SORRY so I would expect a war coming your way from AUSEZ. So in the end, here's a tip. STOP PISSING OFF CLANS and they won't leave a country. This is the truth and no bullshit.

I'm sure it was only a very small number of brits that yelled at you - and I'm sure you yelled back. And you know how these things build up - even among the pirates

good sailing

LOL, the most common view I get of A Spanish ship is its stern... in full flight.

As for me you can keep concentrating on that feeling and feed the idea that you are superior to us or every other clan or nation. ^_^

Comments like this are often heard in battle chat comming from people alike but, yet I have to say it never happened whilst fighting AUSEZ, they were always a worthy enemy that kept the fight to the cannons, so my respect & cumpliments to them and best wishes in their new stage.

So in order to pvp more because of lack of targets you decided to leave the nation that is at war with every other major nation from every side of the map and join the pirates that stomp empty US ports ? :D The logic behind this reason is mind numbing :D

As a strong proponent of law and order I have to regret your decision AUSEZ. I do however understand it. As the old saying goes: Chaos always wins, it is simply better organized. :-(

Trying to impose order is the first step towards chaos. Always remember that.

Have a nice freebooter story with one of the AUS folks before the move. Saw this beautiful trader ship, in the light of a rising sun ( at 2 AM ) and was getting ready to grab the wind on him. The name, Dogs Bollocks, I will never forget given it is a name we use in one of my gaming communities ( to celebrate Saint Oddball and the woof woof dog imitations ).

He proceeded to explain the situation and I escorted the said former brit captain to safety in a free port instead of stealing his cargo waiting patiently that they all made the move to the Black.

Pirate Jesus bless them for their hearts are true to themselves.

What some seem to miss is that it is not just a single reason, it is the culmination of multiple reasons.

That being said, this change is a breath of fresh air for us. We have high morale and spirits which I believe is important for a clan to be successful.

I hope it brings you better / more fights, but Lord Vicious is justing making you all look like his lackeys (implying he inspired or orchestrated the switch, implying that you will be used to keep the boot on the US at Charleston). Thankfully you don't bear the shame of being bribed to switch (at least I hope not).

As far as I'm concerned the decision was our own, of course other pirate clans would encourage it and help us.

We work WITH SORRY at times, not FOR them. Working with them has not prevented us from doing our own thing as well.

Neither clan commands the other.

The proverb "a thief thinks everybody steals" comes to mind.

Ask your leaders what the did to contribute to this situation.

Just to end the rumors,

Yes we are working alongside SORRY and helping them finish what they started up north. This does not mean that we are serving SORRY no more than they are going to help us take the fight south.

I have worked with SORRY for a few fights now and I respect there game play and skill which if you have been lucky to witness is impressive.

I speak with SORRY guys daily and have not been on the receiving end of hostilities or bullying, we chose to move because the British Council was ignoring our requests and then decided to abandon us to settle there crusade east that failed.

Pirate Nation is broken so yes we are enjoying it as it still stands and hopefully what we are doing and our allies will show that it really needs fixing...

Hope this clears any thought or confusion... any question write to me and I'll happily answer your concerns.

Here's to hope that the Brits have more than just Port Royal left when this happens.

I have to wonder, if GB is pushed back to Port Royal, and America still only has Charleston, where will this game stand. Could possibly start hemorrhaging even more players, if we're not careful.

Also, I have to wonder what us Americans did to piss off the Australians, since they seem to be coming up here with more and more regularity. As if our situation wasn't already frustrating enough, they're hitting our ports when we're at work. Lovely.

Ultimately I suspect that Britain will be able to defend it's borders pretty effectively provided that those borders are somewhat smaller than at present.

We have been consistently under coordinated attack on various fronts from the Danish, Pirates, Spanish and French with no real allies to help us. This has been the case for months now and looking at the map and how we have done during that time, I would say we have acquitted ourselves exceedingly well indeed.

Any attempt to completely destroy Britain would, therefore, be exceedingly difficult to achieve, provided we do not overextend ourselves.

The only reason you became strong was because of game mechanics and an easy way to join the black and create and over populated nation, strength in numbers and allies with the stronger nations 4 v 1, yes take the easy road to victory, quite easy to see, so pipe down junior

We welcome the AUSEZ to the brotherhood of Pirates. They made the switch for their own reasons and we had no part in their decision.

I encountered them long ago as an american in the STARS and STRIPES clan in which they kicked our butts fair and square in a shallow water PB.

They have our respect , we consider them equals and look forward to working with them.
