  1. Do I still have to prove that people love 1.5x BR? Coughs sarcastically.
  2. It is posted intentionally to get more information. Stay on topic please and don't get distracted. As we all know forum polls are useless and anyone can click yes or no having no clue what is going on. Developers made this post for a reason. Clearly larger crowd supports devs suggestion and I do as well.
  3. Let's wait and see what people say in this post. I would say stick with what people like and what works best at the moment until you have final product.
  4. More than 50% of players like it and this might be why it's a good temporary fix until they code the final one . (Provocative post to see real people opinions, please ignore)
  5. It will probably get locked until retaken. Not sure.
  6. I heard PB flags are going for retirement in near Patch. So, don't stress it too much.
  7. As devs already mentioned, new Conquest system is in works and will be out soon. Hold on tight. Expect port wipe during patch deployment. I heard, New 3 circle port capture will be introduced. Battlefield style. Devs will post details when it's ready. Devs: Port conquest will be slowed down, assault flags most likely are going to be abandoned. captains should be advised that ports are getting reset when that feature comes out.
  8. Some great ideas here. I would like to know how far developers willing go with Economy expansion. Will we ever see banks or sophisticated stock market that could get impacted when ports are under attack. Right now we simply capture ports to get more resources, but it would be nice to see an impact on global market, something that would force players to think twice before attacking a country that has a major influence on combined server market.
  9. 'Blanford' H.M.S. Blandford was a 20 gun ship, launched on 13th February 1719. Please share gun specs and history.
  10. We have new openings for Captains who would like to join out Clan. We do not force you to do anything, but we require you to come and fight with us when we call you. We are very flexible. TS is a must for PvP, unless you are PvE oriented then you are ok. Our clan rules are similar to Pirate rules, Freedom and Respect. Send me a PM if interested.
  11. -How was wind speed measured during this time frame? Answer: Beaufort Scale The scale was devised in 1805 by Francis Beaufort (later Rear Admiral Sir Francis Beaufort), an Irish Royal Navy officer, while serving in HMS Woolwich. The scale that carries Beaufort's name had a long and complex evolution from the previous work of others (including Daniel Defoe the century before) to when Beaufort was a top administrator in the Royal Navy in the 1830s when it was adopted officially and first used during the voyage of HMS Beagle under Captain Robert FitzRoy, later to set up the first Meteorological Office (Met Office) in Britain giving regular weather forecasts. In the early 19th century, naval officers made regular weather observations, but there was no standard scale and so they could be very subjective – one man's "stiff breeze" might be another's "soft breeze". Beaufort succeeded in standardizing the scale. Sir Francis Beaufort The initial scale of thirteen classes (zero to twelve) did not reference wind speed numbers but related qualitative wind conditions to effects on the sails of a frigate, then the main ship of the Royal Navy, from "just sufficient to give steerage" to "that which no canvas sails could withstand". The scale was made a standard for ship's log entries on Royal Navy vessels in the late 1830s and was adapted to non-naval use from the 1850s, with scale numbers corresponding to cup anemometer rotations. In 1916, to accommodate the growth of steam power, the descriptions were changed to how the sea, not the sails, behaved and extended to land observations. Rotations to scale numbers were standardized only in 1923. George Simpson, C.B.E. (Later Sir George Simpson), Director of the UK Meteorological Office, was responsible for this and for the addition of the land-based descriptors. The measure was slightly altered some decades later to improve its utility for meteorologists. Today, many countries have abandoned the scale and use the metric system based units, m/s or km/h, instead,[citation needed] but the severe weather warnings given to the public are still approximately the same as when using the Beaufort scale. The Beaufort scale was extended in 1946, when forces 13 to 17 were added. However, forces 13 to 17 were intended to apply only to special cases, such as tropical cyclones. Nowadays, the extended scale is only used in Taiwan and mainland China, which are often affected by typhoons. Internationally, WMO Manual on Marine Meteorological Services (2012 edition) defined the Beaufort Scale only up to Force 12 and there was no recommendation on the use of the extended scale. Wind speed on the 1946 Beaufort scale is based on the empirical relationship: v = 0.836 B3/2 m/s Where v is the equivalent wind speed at 10 metres above the sea surface and B is Beaufort scale number. For example, B = 9.5 is related to 24.5 m/s which is equal to the lower limit of "10 Beaufort". Using this formula the highest winds in hurricanes would be 23 in the scale. Today, hurricane-force winds are sometimes described as Beaufort scale 12 through 16, very roughly related to the respective category speeds of the Saffir–Simpson Hurricane Scale, by which actual hurricanes are measured, where Category 1 is equivalent to Beaufort 12. However, the extended Beaufort numbers above 13 do not match the Saffir–Simpson Scale. Category 1 tornadoes on the Fujita and TORRO scales also begin roughly at the end of level 12 of the Beaufort scale, but are independent scales – although the TORRO scale wind values are based on the 3/2 power law relating wind velocity to Beaufort force. Wave heights in the scale are for conditions in the open ocean, not along the shore. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaufort_scale
  12. If you play USA on PvP 1 EU, Send me a PM. We are very flexible.
  13. One quick suggestion would be - once reinforcement touches the edge of the circle message appears (Join Battle or Decline). Player picks Decline(he touched circle at wrong angle). Boom - After that there will be no more chances to reinforce for that player. Some other player can try the same at better angle and Accept to reinforce. So, touching circle will be critical. No need to sail through it and position at right angle, the moment you touch it that is it. How you touch the circle is up to you. Battle position/spawn is based on how you touch the edge of the circle. This is more fun and will require more time and skill in fast paced situations. Devs please take note.
  14. You can kill both if you know what you are doing. 1 good broadside and small ship is a history. Reinforcing sails would be a good idea, since it is always a main target on your ship.
  15. It will hurt open world ganking, but not PvP. If I want to pvp I go and PvP. I don't care about rules. I still find my prey and kill it. Gankers, griefers and other trouble causing crowd will need to find a new way to play. In the end, you can't call yourself a pvper if you can't think ahead and find a way out of problem that is facing you.
  16. 80% of players who cry haven't tried new mechanics yet and provide feedback based on their knowledge from past. You need at least 2 weeks to get into it and start analyzing.
  17. I think Brigs are shop only for now. Need confirmation.
  18. You filled needed amount at 225, after that demand and price dropped? Always sell in small batches and record price change. Let's say port needed only 500 Artifacts, after that they are not obligated to pay 225. In this case it looks like port made tons of profit on you.
  19. No they are not. It was for instance crashes. ...dont ram until its fixed or tuned its not penetrating leaks related... leaks could be generated by rams and they depend on speed and relative mass and vectors during the collisions. If you hit the enemy bow into bow with both ships going at max speed you both will sink ------ ...ramming is devastating currently if you hit a ship at high speed
  20. Your options: 1. Keep fleeting on your own, cap(Send to Admiralty) and earn gold. Accumulate enough gold to buy a good ship. 2. Go to the shop and buy cheap Basic Frigate or smaller and pvp in it(Shops sell all ships up to Super Frigates).Go pvp and Capture player ships. 3. Set up craft and sell resources, accumulate money to buy a good ship. 4. Move to PvE server if above options are not possible.
  21. I always hit rum too hard, can't even remember what happened last night. Land in battles? Never heard of it...
