  1. In my opinion, as of this last update the prices for Level 1 production buildings are FAR too high for the eventual release of the game. Whilst we can make a 250k real, 10k doubloon level 1 shipyard or iron mine work now, once release hits and no-one has high rank, high level crafting, etc. this will be incredibly hard. Level 1 production buildings should be viable and easy to obtain, allowing new players to get into the game and try out crafting and/or help their clan. As it stands right now, release will be even more DLC action than Naval action, as no-one will be able to build anything to be able to go out and capture the larger AI ships. I have no problem if the prices for level 2 and 3 are increased. IMO these prices for level 1 will turn away the new players you keep going on about that will be coming in. EDIT: As an addendum, you could make level 1 academy and workshop, where level 1 allows you to make basic mods (no book) and repairs/rum, and level2 allows everything. Level 1 forge could allow crafting of long guns<=18p and carronades <=32p, and level 2 (more expensive) allows all guns. Etc.
  2. I posted a question about this in the " Public "API" for Naval Action" thread in developer announcements but the topic appears to have gone stale. Does current API data provide visibility for contract buy/sell prices? It shows up on http://www.navalactioncraft.com but that site does not appear to be currently maintained and is not displaying contracts on PvE that I know have been up for several days. If the public API works is there a tool somewhere that a non-coder can download and run to get at the data? I can handle csv files and spreadsheets. But I tried to follow the instructions in the developer thread and I couldn't get anything to work. The process is completely opaque. I don't need anything sophisticated or pretty. Just something that will cough a tab or comma delimited file without me having to figure out what a json is or how to read/modify it. Or a functioning alternative to the craft site?
  3. Everyone should be able to play on its own since he paid for this game (it's not a free to play kind of, remember?). The prices of the in-game items are insanely high and require a ton of grind to acquire. Also, you have to fix the ships' durability because it's no fun to try HOURS AND HOURS to buy or craft one and then lose it in a matter of minutes.
  4. Overnight, it appears that the NPC "market makers" prices for various staple commodities, for example, Oak Logs ... pulled stakes and left. Offered price in ports like Charleston went to -1- from -222-. It this a "Big Bang" of free market prices, a glitch, or what? I've not yet cruised the other likely ports for profitable sales, but suspect the situation is similar. Have B/S price support been withdrawn? Is the price of Resources and Materials now determined solely by Player Characters Production/Demand/Arbitrage? Please share your experience and discuss. ~HK~
  5. I was very happy to see that finally we could buy more than 200 goods at the same time. I went to my usual provider of Historical Artifact and the price was 150. Nice, I thought, so I bout it all: 1080 x 150 = 162.000 Then I went to a port where Historical Artifact were needed... The price was 225 as usual. A nice profit in sight I thought... 1080 x 225 = 243.000 WRONG. I got only 120.960 Am I missing something? I tried again with American Cotton... same results! Any help?
  6. I'd just like to say that I personally think the prices of AI ships should be a bit more in ports so crafters can more easily compete with them. I can't be objective here since I am spanish and we currently have a lack of resources, but even so, then at least in our nation the prices should be lower. Does anyone agree or disagree? Cheers.
