Port Bonuses need removing ASAP
Teutonic replied to Ed Rose's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
The open Market always has ships to purchase with port bonuses up too...right? I have suggested multiple times though that port "bonuses" should be economic based, not ship stat boosters. -
the way Ink states it - the answer would be no. only 2 nations flag's are ever in the battle - any third party nation would "become that flag." if a French was to join the Swedish side, the french player "flies" the swedish flag for the duration of that battle. Although this does bring a new question continuing on what you asked....if both nations are fighting near a fort that belongs to a "3rd" nation, what does the fort target? from @Gregory Rainsborough's statements, it sounds like it prioritizes "defending" the defender, whoever that may be.

contrary to folks saying they hate the 20 minute reinforcement timer for the side with lower BR, I love it. I know it has been abused in the past and there are a few players who continue to try to game it, but it continues to amaze me at how many times people DON'T join the make the battle more even. but the 20 minute timer allows me to join a friend who's in trouble to even out the battle - the enemy already got to the battle and now will enjoy a more contested and tough fight. .......or do people not like tough rewarding fights?
-
I prefer the 2 minute timer because i would constantly see the fish bait tactic in play -- Player would get caught by a small group and then tell his buddies to undock from port and sail over. With 2 minute timer they have to be in the OW if they want 'all' the player in - otherwise it is even BR. And for some reason the fish baiters didn't like even br 🤔

Dockhoppers

yeah, i'd say no on this - because I'd just do this from now on too and it would be a shitty hassle addition to the game instead of any meaningful "content." -

Cargo and passengers rewards
Teutonic replied to Sento de Benimaclet's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
wait wait - you think the cargo missions don't give high enough rewards....? and here I thought the fact that I don't have to pay anything and get 100% income with the risk of a t.brig was too much. -

[suggestion] Shallow ports hostility
Teutonic replied to van der Clam's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
that's a fair point and I agree. I just want folks to realize that if you limit hostility on shallow ports to shallow water ships you'll realize that grinding a shallow port will actually take longer then any deep water port AND it will become more difficult. 6 - 1st rates auto flip a regional town with 1 hostility. no warning 12 1st rates auto flip a county capital with 2 hostility mission split - the warning in combat news will not give you any time to muster a defense. if you limit shallow ports to shallow ships this is what you have to muster if you want to "insta-flip" the port: On average 6th rates spawn 6th rates looming between 50 - 70 BR - if you want to insta-flip a Shallow County Capital you need 40 players - the best ship to do this is a requin. on average 5th rate shallow ships spawn medium sized deep water 5th rates (frigates, belle poules, essex, and with luck a cerb)- it is an incredibly difficult uphill battle for a surprise/herc/cerb, nonetheless the experience of attempting these missions has shown myself and my clan that you normally fight a belle which has double the hitpoints of a surprise :P. in this example you would need around 15 surprises to insta-flip the port - in most cases you'd have a few players sink unless you all did solo hostility. What I'm getting at here, is for some reason you "would" need MORE players to flip shallow port than a deep water if you limited it to shallow ships as the mechanics currently are, it is actually advantageous for people to just ignore shallows and just fight deep water hostility missions. In order for me to agree to hostility missions being limited to shallow ships, you would need to fix the NPC spawn type for when a player uses the shallow water 5th rates - and even if the devs were to do this, on average you would still need more people than deep water missions. try shallow water hostilities with shallow boats - I know the Brits have done them, would love to hear how they felt about them. -
Russia so bored they try to kill off smaller nations?
Teutonic replied to Carl von Lichtenfels's topic in National news
I wouldn't mind that. my biggest problem would be trying to convince other to do the same to only get "they did X to me, hello kitty those guys." le sigh..... -
[suggestion] Shallow ports hostility
Teutonic replied to van der Clam's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
if someone decides to sail a deep water ship all the way to a hostility mission for a shallow water port - and the hostility happens to be in a deep water area, why shouldn't they? the only limits are how much BR you need to grind to get the port. Deep County Capital - 10,000 Deep Regional Port - 4,500 Shallow County Capital - 2,500 Shallow Regional Port - 1,000 Now pick the best way to grind these - if you find an enemy grinding a port in 1 st rate to flip it - then by gosh darn it it should be easy to sink him when there is no help. -
Yet another map: Naval Action map

ok thank you! I was dumb and thought when you said "points" you meant points like port bonuses points - not coordinate/points on the map to see :P.- 1,326 replies

While I may be salty about the situation, I am also not trying to tell anyone who is in the wrong - as you say I am just informing the story of Sweden's viewpoint. I have been talking to a number of folks, the general impression is that the is no diplomatic solution anymore and some people need some fights to sort it out. Anyway - I pretty much don't play in the EU tz unless it is the weekend due to living in the US, so....enjoy?

this is complicated, because this could have been avoided if some French players decided to let Sweden take Basse-Terre and give it back to Poland. Sweden started Hostility grinding on Basse-Terre when we got the confirmation from Banish Privateer to take it with the intention of returning it to an active polish clan. It seems some French didn't care to talk, instead called us nation killers and literally wouldn't chat with us in a more calm environment - but hey it's better to blame us for killing nations, calling yourself the victim AND THEN taking basse-terre instead to become the "honorable defenders against tyranny." France sunk a number of Swedes who originally enjoyed and encouraged the push for better relations between our nations. The swedes you sunk at Basse-Terre pushed our council majority back into killing French. So from Sweden's perspective, the reason for our aggression is a reaction due to France's violation of the our goodwill towards each other by refusing to talk and refusing to listen to "WHY" we attacked Basse-Terre. Again, we got permission from the leader of AHOY - but even then it seems the few french who just wanted to burn bridges decided not to listen. I'm not going to say who is right or wrong, but let's keep ourselves honest - Sweden is not the dishonorable one here by choice. the majority of Sweden is tired of being labelled the villain in multiple situations that we never meant to be. The clans that just want to burn each other in both nations will now have full access to do so. So the clans are tired of it and have decided to say; "if you think us villains, then hello kitty it, we will be the villain you wish."
