After a meeting, We have changed our Diplomatic views on other nations and this will be the Swedish viewpoint for sometime to come. After the crazy weekend bash when the brits came into fight the Pirates and the hectic changes we decided to come to an agreement within the nation. Sweden: Spain: Neutral British: War Dutch: Neutral US: Neutral French: Hostile Danmark-Norge: War Pirates: Non-Invasion Pact May the content be sweet and glorious.

We did formulate a plan originally to fight the Pirates early on. From our perspective, the nations nearby agreed on a time to attack the Pirates all at once, but the Dutch decided to attack early when we were not ready. We were told that the French weren't ready as well and pretty much any hope of surprising the pirates ended right then and there. Edit: I must clarify, This was before I ever started talking to the nearby nations as well, so if someone has a more clear view, please enlighten me.

Maybe instead of talking about it, if people have legit seen it, they should report it to the devs? Right, that's what normal people do.

You keep saying this "exploit" word, but every time I've asked for clarification so I can confirm or deny your accusations, all you say is "you know, you just won't admit it" First off Mr. "Big Shot" The main treaty with have with the pirates is a Non-Invasion Pact, yeah? I hope you understand that means no Port taking, everything else is fair game. PvP? check. Ganking people in missions? Check. I find it rather distasteful how you and your SOB clan buddies came down and said "Sweden, you're giving us a port to go fight the pirates, no questions." To which we replied "Buzz off." Your response? That you're going to swarm over us, take all our ports and make our lives a living hell. The Danes already basically surrendered and left their nation to you, so who else do we have to even remotely help us? French? nah, they already don't like us anyway. The Dutch? they have a clan dedicated to "one day" kill us. So for one big day, the Swedish players that were online at the time agreed to support the Pirates in their defense and drive you guys back out. So we can go back to the comfortable life we had before you folks decided to stroll in. the Swedish players I have played with have been awesome, and generally respectful of each other since we are a small community in comparison to the rest of the nations. To blanket a statement about all "swedes are exploiters" and "pirate lovers" is a rather scum move from the vocal group here.

I loved watching the battles from afar! The swedes enjoyed fighting people around the area, content creation YAY!

I meant to get this done earlier as if I don't I forget names, so apologies to those who were involved . Also there is roleplay in here, not everything is true, but rather to add to the story of what played out. Sweden's Southern Incursion Setting As with the traditions of our old Viking ancestors, we Swedes need to go down south every now and then and find some good loot to bring back home and show off to our partners. When we heard wind that some people aptly named "Pirates" were trashing on our Viking heritage of looting and stealing, the Swedes decided it was time to show how you REALLY do it. Initial Skirmishes I, Teutonic (ingame), decided to go off PvPing for once instead of missions or that silly 3rd rate hunting that people love so much on the night of February 17th. Sent by my Admiralty to go scout the southern waters and help any Swede that needs aid I immediately noticed a Swedish trader and Mercury chasing off a pirate by the name of Envy and took chase. My trusty Frigate and I knew only one thing, the blazing glory of cannon fire into the enemy's direction and took pursuit as well. Catching the pirate into a battle I spent 20 minutes chaining his sails, while the Mercury aided in whatever had to be done. Even the Swedish trader was not startled and showed true bravery on the field. After quite a long chase, the pirate surrendered with his last words being "good luck you Swedish dogs for my reinforcements have come" (pirate reinforcements due to BR imbalance). I contact the mercury player to help me finish up the pirates in the battle when I get wind of an increase in Pirate activity around Plymouth. I immediately signal for a bird to send a letter back to Gustavia in an attempt to warn the Admiralty of the threat and pray to god help will come soon. First Battle With word that the Pirates were ravaging the southern borders, I was able to gather a force initially of 8-10 Swedes in our trusty 5th rates. Consolidating at Plymouth one of my men shouts that he sees a Pirate Constitution on the horizon and immediately I rally the fleet to chase it down. Nearby I notice a few Surprises and Cerbs, but they are not of concern as the Swedish incursion forces the Pirates into a battle! West of Deshaies (spelling?) and south of Plymouth it commences! Numbers are vague in the heat of battle as reinforcement poured in on each side, but I believe us Swedes eventually had around 12 ships and the Pirates 8? Battle Rating was similar, although our position in the battle was superior. I call for all chase guns to be aimed at the Constitutions sails and for the fleet to gun it down. I also order a few to make a screen in between the pirate reinforcements and the Constitution (and his Cerb friends) to block them from aiding our catch. Everything is going swimmingly until the Consti is able to ram me, for all accounts I should be dead and split in two but our Swedish king's favor is with me and I'm able to break free! Broadside after broadside we tear him down, until a fire breaks out. Everyone knows they must make distance or else they too may succumb to the fire and explode. At this point the Swedes I order to screen the other Pirates have done well and the Pirates are starting to flee but no one is allowed to flee, we must make every effort to bring them down for the glory of Sweden! The dying words of the Constitutions commander before he exploded in a fiery fashion were "Revenge will be ours, you should never have come here!" I chuckle a bit, for it dawns on me they are merely copy cats, we are the true pillagers of the seas, the Viking blood in me is hot and ready for more blood to smeared. 2 Pirates down (Consti and Cerb) and no losses for Sweden! Our scout tells me that the Pirates have grown in numbers near Deshaies and Plymouth to try and block our route of escaping. I take note of the available fleet Sweden has brought and order a tactical retreat in order to organize ourselves in a safe area. Chaos was created for a moment as a number of Swedish ships we caught and as far as I was told all able to escape. Second Battle With the majority of the Swedish fleet heading back to port, rightly proud of our small achievement, a member of the fleet, HeavyReign, shouts that the Pirates are behind and have caught him near Oranjestad! I immediately order him to call for reinforcements and for the Swedish fleet to turn around for support. Seeing their mistake, the Pirates run for their lives, but we have them in our clutches! catching three 5th rates we slowly whittle them down until they cannot run from us, their sails in tatters. This second battle was more of a slaughter, but not without amusement as the Pirates were lucky to create a fire on Heavy's Cerb. He loudly screams "for the Lion of the North!" and rams into the nearest pirate causing an explosion taking both of them down in a lovely fashion. After Thoughts It was extremely fun to get the Swedish nation as a who to enjoy some PvPing with our Pirate neighbors, We don't get to do it a lot and many of our foes have bigger ships and deeper war chests. I...regret having Heavy call in AI reinforcements as if we fought without them it would have been an even fight, and possibly a more enjoyable one for all! Props to the Pirate guilds Invictus and [sR] (who's new to me so I don't know your name...sorry ) for giving us a couple fights. I hope to see more!

True, I'm not disagreeing with your earlier statement. I don't feel the US influence in Sweden, but I hear about it all the time. I'd certainly enjoy it the other major nations got a more even spread of folks, would help make fights a little more even.

Other nations could just rise up to fight them.

Sweden diplomacy is not fully fleshed out, adding a little bit shouldn't hurt! Sweden has a simple trade agreement with the Danes
