  1. we didn't see this coming /s but in all seriousness this is a problem. I just wish we could purchase flags like in the old days instead.
  2. you are also neglecting to mention your Russian friends made that "vibrant war" a joke. nonetheless, we made an agreement and both sides seemed tentatively content with the outcome.
  3. I mean, am I wrong though? we all hate how it is setup currently.
  4. fact is, the game has turned to such an extraordinary grind that no one wants to lose a valuable "crafting port." outcome is, no matter which nation, people have and will stop playing due to high developed ports being taken. ...tl;dr honestly this is seriously a "blame the devs" scenario. We told the devs we hated the hostility grinding and the mechanic abuses (exploits) that happened. We wanted less grind. so instead we change it to "different grind" and it's even worse. congrats guys, we played ourselves.
  5. Personally... I would have thought working on a better alliance mechanic would be a lot more enjoyable and rewarding for players than to restrict and make it harder to PvP...
  6. It seems like a constant issue of which will never be solved. some Spanish ask GB for surrender, some "other" spanish stated they never surrendered, they just didn't plan on doing anything, and some still ask things from GB, and even some others asks things of Sweden. it begs the question - Which Spaniard do you believe is the new "leader?" FNI may have negotiated just for themselves and no harm or foul to them - but other spanish clans wanted a few different outcomes.
  7. not doing RvR on a daily, practically hourly basis, has honestly been such a godsend for most of the players that I have talked to. People still want to RvR, but I don't think anyone was enjoying the non-stop grind after a bit. so maybe this new Flag system (better than the old.....maybe?) will encourage better OW PvP by "telling" people where to go for it.
  8. I am not blaming anyone, but I have heard that it's just you need to sink the ship you were "originally" in when the battle starts. In many cases I've heard the players just use the ship they captured in the "next" mission and rinse and repeat. I assume it's "working as intended"....but it's certainly a creative way to get doubloons. "off topic" but couldn't we say this suggests that Doubloon income could use an improvement for non-PvP related activities?
  9. I've been on both sides of being screened as a form of "griefing" and being screened as a form of PvP content. With the addition of this "item" so that a PB can get into a port battle is at first nice to consider. because the PB fleet wants the PB content. but the players outside also want content in the form of PvP. lets take the term Screeners out of the process. instead taking it to the core of what it is. a Port Battle is essentially a "signal" to the server informing folks where players are likely to be when looking for PvP. Effectively, a port battle is the ONLY way to have a 99% chance of certainty that there will be players to fight, whether that means in the port battle, or the surrounding waters. So what happens when you take away a key aspect of how port battle work currently - in the form of a PB fleet needing to use OW to get to their destination - and allow folks to bypass the limitation? You kill OW PvP around Port Battles. So your question goes to - Where can I go that the game can tell me where players are? After all, when we for for OW PvP content, the majority of us are going out because we want/need to find people in order to enact PvP. the game NEEDS a way for players to know where other players are with better accuracy - multiple players in the past have asked for a "heat-map" and I can't believe we still don't have it. We seem to be going in the direction of "Make things easier for players to have PvP," and yet changes to game mechanics seem to also entirely contradict that very goal. 1. Bring back Small/Large Battles and do the following A - Risk/Reward: Small/Large Battles now gives Rewards while also risking your ship B - Small Battles are no larger than 4th rates - and each side is evenly formed based on BR from all players Queue'd C - Large Battles have no limit - each side is evenly formed based on BR from all players Queue'd 2. Heat map - we already have a "form" of it based on the ship log note showing battles nearby that are open to you.....Why don't we have that as..I don't know...standard? Give it like a 10-20 minute cooldown, but allows players to be able to check all the time. we are out their sailing because we WANT PvP action, lets make it easier to find the action.
  10. We actually discussed this interestingly enough. You'd think with all these people not working, there would be more people to play - we actually found majority of us are "Essential" so it turned out not to be a change.... I suppose that's a good thing?
  11. Was enjoyable while it lasted. Many fun content was had, but now it's time to rest 😴.
  12. voted yes to surrender and no to escape. but generally I am in agreement with others - I would remove it.
  13. the next time a nation flips a port I want to flip and fails to capture it, I too will complain.
  14. Yep, Fairfield county, Norwalk area. thankfully stocked up on paper towels and toilet paper beforehand *whew.*
  15. I've said it in other threads. I'd honestly be happy to change port bonuses as they are now - to crafting/resource bonuses to allow for more interesting "ship trim" options in crafting. I'd love to craft ships with 'redoutable refit' or something - but you can only get those refits through captured ai ships. that being said, since the port points change (where the devs increased them overall) It hasn't nearly been as bad an issue as before, and since DLCs get port bonuses (albiet at random) as well as choosing seasoned wood without cost I don't see much of a reason to complain anymore. There are many things I would like to change in Naval Action, but this one isn't high on the list. There are actually really a lot of 50 point ports now that are super solid crafting bases and many of these ports are not all defended to the utmost degree. definitely recommend groups considering the need for crafting to goo out and explore!
  16. Connecticut has partially shut down, and the state government has been shown to be ill prepared for this pandemic. Granted I don't think many states in the US are "ready" but responses from a few states have certainly been faster and more efficient in their resources. Every school in a 25 mile radius from where I live is closed until mid/late April (and the universities/colleges have gone into 'online only or closed' for the rest of the semester), multiple companies have decided to have all their employees work from home. the commute to work today was empty...no traffic. Work is allowing folks to work from home for a set period but "encouraged" everyone to keep going to work. which is why I'm here on the Naval Action forums instead!
  17. I can't believe it's still going. the amount of salt spitting is absolute nonsense now. time for folks to stfu and fight in battles. I'd like to actually hear about the following wars: Pirates vs US GB vs Prussia France vs US incursion
  18. did you know, BORK is mainly a us tz clan? did you know we agreed to defend fort dauphin? 😃 wow, it's almost like a Nation works together or something.
  19. there is no other ship in the game that has a worse waterline than the Pavel and Victory for...........no apparent reason? fix the waterline leak and you would fix the majority of the issues with those ships. (the next issue would definitely be BR though)
