Anyone else noticed the constant attacks on players around nation's capitals the past week or so? I think R Zones should be reinstated, at least for lower ranked players. I also liked a suggestion I saw on the forums earlier in the about purchasing protection from local ports. I thought this as a good idea as it provided PVE and PVP content for those so inclined. The issue as I see it without R zones (imperfect though they were) single players are disadvantaged. If you are a clan member, you can coordinate escorts with your clan mates so you can get in/out with a higher level of safety. It is far harder to do this if you are a solo style player.

this game is for hardcore players only.  And reinforcement zones led to less battles.  or so some data somewhere tells us.  Of course we haven't seen that data so we don't really know it if was the reinforcement zones, the steady increase in ship costs (making players less willing to lose them). changes to the ROE like introducing the 2min timer or the decline in players over the past couple of months not happy with an assortment of changes.

Heres a funny fact  - I find Rear Admirals around Capital Areas more often than anywhere else

What's so funny about that fact?, 90% are Rear Admirals and only thing it means is that you have spent x number of hours playing this game.

waht i woud like to see is the non-Clubbing Rear Admirals to Defend the Waters around the Capital. And protect the noobs. that woud give the New Player Protection AND the

Rearadmirals PvP!

Iv you see Enemy Players around the Capital Zone Post in Nation Chat and ask for help.

Some Clan go infront of KPR, not to kill noobs but to get the other Vets to Battle them. (Sometime it works, sometimes it doesnt)

Problem is they don't want to wait for enemies to show up at their doorstep because it could take hours, so they go directly to Enemy Capital instead. The enemies do the same, and you end up having enemies at eachothers capital fighting what they can find there.

I would like to defend my nations waters too but I can't wait for them to show up, and when someone announce on nation chat that enemies are there then I am somewhere else hunting.

I refer to my topic "good vs good". Veteran players need to be encouraged to battle other vets. Not but rules and limitations (like reinforcement zone) but simply by having a choice, go for the "average" player getting a rather uninteresting reward for a rather uninteresting battle, or go after other veterans and claim juicy reward for a hard fought battle.

I found KPR to be a haven since last year until just recently.   For quite some time there were only a few foreign NPCs.  Then the area near our capital was littered with lots of small ships from various nations.  Now, for several days, there are roaming enemy players raising hell at all times.  Our brave captains are putting up a good fight but the losses are mounting and large ships are becoming harder to find.  The supplies of rare wood is stretched thin.  The  ominous blockade "19" of Kingston / Port Royal is taking a toll.

Personally I have been avoiding KPR for days.  It is too risky to sail near there.

Interesting story this is ....

The funny thing is that the problem with reinforcement zones that all the people complained about (i.e. Max rank players farming AI) had basically gone away before the recent changes. There was no AI to farm so most of the max rank players moved away and capital regions were relatively quiet, they then reintroduced lower class AI back into those waters and the farming started again although on a smaller scale with mainly newer players starting out. This brought the odd hunter back but they had to be careful not to initiate the attack because of reinforcements. And now with the removal of the zones it has returned to full on seal clubbing and when more experienced players come out to assist it ends up becoming an all out war zone.

The problem is that the more nation players that come out to help new players the more enemy show up, because that is where they know they can get PvP. There is now no disadvantage to the attackers as they turn up well prepared in a coordinated group and most times end up fighting a disorganized pick up group. It leads to a lot of disagreements and arguments in nation, because when a new player gets jumped and no one joins to help they get angry, without realizing that others will not join until they have sufficient numbers or are better organized. I remember in the days before reinforcement zones a number of times joining a battle to aid someone only to watch them sail away and exit the battle leaving me alone to face the attackers.

Historically home waters were relatively safe and you would not get ships of the line raiding in those water as we have now in game. As with many things in game they have the problem almost solved and then they do a radical change rather than tweak.

That would be great faction play, it's a good desire to have.  But looks like clan play is more encouraged.  It seems to be conflicting goals IMO.  Maybe it's the same, just seems different.

If you are a solo-type player, there is absolutely no reason to be around your capital. There’s is nothing there that will help you.  Go west, young man....   or south....

Certain people will get bored with their experiment if you stop feeding them easy kills.

There is just no way that I will sit around the capitol, waiting to rescue the next player who hasn't listened.  Plus, you would have to gather an organised force to sit there with you.  When starting the game and selecting a nation, it should say (in all caps) "STAY AWAY FROM THE CAPITOL!!"

If pro gankers were not at capital zones to farm newbs then those ganker pros would be letting the newbs go once they got them in battle and saw their rank. But, no...gankers gonna gank and make up every excuse in the book as to why it's good for them to do so.

The current situation around Jamaica reminds me of the old times in 2016, where KPR was nearly constantly blockaded.

But in those old times it was really fun due to the several dura of the ships and the relatively easy crafting. Being sunk was not that bad and therefore more people were willing to fight.

Sometimes I think we should take the best from the old times, combine it with the best of today and build a great game out of it.

With the one dura ships there should be some kind of R zone around the capitals, maybe not as large as the old one, but still a kind of support for the defending nation. Maybe the C zone can be enlarged a bit.
