I dont like that mediums have the same price in the AI shop as i need to pay to craft them myself (nobody would ever craft mediums). I know a lot of people like to use medium 42pders on their 1st rates to increase DPS, or people who mix medium 18pders and long 9pders on the Trinco to have somewhat equal penetration values and increased DPS. There is a market for them. Imo AI shop cannons prices shall be doubled.

agreed

Crafting cannons great... but what about newbie low levels?

I've been trying to play a literal newbie character with absolutely nothing to start with... Playing on and off for 3 days has got me pretty much nowhere, as you get bugger all XP from OW kills or caps, there are bugger all AI traders getting about, and the ones that are, are carrying bugger all.

Said this ages ago.

Newbie start so tough now.

I think is better put the crafting cannons separate from the casting. Cannons have a lot of options and clutter the casting menu too much (in my opinion)

Or add a 'filter'

And what about to separate carriages from ships and moving to the cannon BPs? I think is more logic. Because you can to sail a warships with less cannons or with cannos of lesser class. Why you need craft the ship with it?

And that DekomoiDesu said too of course.

its a skill to better use hammocks. Once you used it it is in your skill list (for that class of ships)

there are no permanent upgrades in game yet except for 5 that drop from military ships if you board them.

I acutlaly liked it better when they listed the classes 1-3, 4-5, 6-7 than the S, M, L that it list now.

that or I would say put them after the other crafting stuff so you don't have to scroll down just to do normal Mats casting stuff.

Just started on the test bed server. Trying to play as a newbie and delay redeeming. Sure is lonely being poor down in Willemsberg.

I spent like what seemed like forever trying to get a trader snow low enough to board with my basic cutter. Successfully boarded and won but never got the X for crew transfer and the ship wasn't in my captured list post battle. I'm pretty sure the trader wasn't damaged enough to sink.

Do you have to have fleet peek to even capture a ship?

You can change ships and scuttle the Basic Cutter too. But I don't know if you hav enough crew for sail it.

All fine and dandy but for that economy to work, there need to be more traders than raiders and given speed nerf, boredom, time loosing plus somewhat dependancy on the time my friend logs in that wont be the case.

There's always more traders than raiders. Even in the old build.

Thing about traders is that they will be raided, eventually, so what better bait for PvP than escorting them...

holds are huge so you don't have to actually sail often
+ remember that you can use fleet cargo too

sail once a week with protection

We need real nights back now

I strongly agree: sunrise at 6 am and sunset at 9 pm (like in the real caribbean). Long night allow traders to lurk and sneak behind hunters.

I'm a crafter/trader and - to be honest - I doubt this will happen, since the perspective of hauling just once a week will probably draw away from the game dedicated traders like me and - on the other side - PVPers, in my experience, are not likely to engage in boring stuffs like hauling (or escorting haulers).

My impression is therefore that only big clans (or very populated factions) will be able to afford (and survive) these changes in trade.

Regarding outlaw battles:

Had a nice outlaw battle today, lasted for nearly the full time. I repaired 6 times in total, left the battle with almost full HP, even though I was nearly sunk 5 times. Still think repair cooldowns need to be increased to at least 15 minutes.

CyYnw18.jpg

After the battle was over, I received 196k gold, 2842 XP aswell as 7 pvp marks (for an outlaw battle). I thought those were supposed to be non profitable? I sent an f11-report ingame just in case.

Also, in that battle, a constitution surrendered, yet someone got the kill award for it. Wasn't the idea that if a ship surrenders or gets captured, the ship itself is supposed to be the prize, and no kill rewards are given out?

PVPers will have to craft best ships with best cannons or buy them from you. Thus some will have to haul for them and they will help to protect those people

Hotfix will be deployed today (26th of April) to testbed.

  • Hold load now affects speed and acceleration. Cannons affect hold. (Hold numbers and weights are not final and will be updated more this week).

Cool beans. Is there a certain percentage of hold that's free from any performance penalties?

Realistically maybe half of your cargo will just replace the essential ballast, such that a frigate with 6 months of stores is probably faster to windward (and heels less) than a frigate with 3 months of stores.

Money, even the fake pixel version, is a powerful motivator....  There will always be players whose ultimate goal is to be the richest player in the game....

I understand the "gameplay" reason in this decision, but... like Maturin has said.

People forget that a warships is in reallity a sort of cargo ship, only that that cargo is the reinforced hull, guns, munitions, gunpowder and the crew of that guns plus the provisions. If you make the traders speed dependable of the cargo, the warships too, not only their guns. More if that warships are operating long distances from their national bases.

would it be possible to have a single fleet ship availble by default so capturing ships doesnt require a perk? increase perk amount required for additional ship from that point onward i think would be better?

also for UI is it possible to get keyboard shortcuts for splitting item quantity and ability to input quanitity by keypad number not slider :)

That's also possible. Actual numbers of players after the wipe (expecially in low populated factions and with no alliance system) will tell who was right.
