Because the game is not just about port battles. This again leads to a lobby game of just port battles. I understand that some people love and live for port battles but others like the ability to screen in OW and use other tactics to prevent the battle happening or winning it before the actual port battle takes place.

at the moment the battles are beautifull, the OW is beautifull, the game is beautifull but there are some things the game lacks at the moment

- a reason to get only every evening and do something together which provides fun. That was the flagmechanic prepatch. after the patch it should have been the hostility mechanic but it isnt working as intended. most players are demotivated because of this (because PvP in RvR got so much in the background and mostly only happens at the few portbattles)

-- PvE in hostility areas is too much spread and a defender has to search ages for the missionrunners which

-- PvE is effective if a group gathers and is doing solo missions. they should be encouraged to stay together and have fun but thats not the case at the moment. if you stay together you grind for hours and dont reach anything

-- the warsupplies are used because it is the most timeeffective. you can do other things while you do warsupplies. 

but then there should be done something to counter the screeningmechanics and dont get another untested and unfavored mechanic into the game

- let defenders be screened too -> move the portbattle entry away from the port or dont let the port be accessible for anyone while the portbattle is active. like it would be a enemy port. this way defenders cant get out of port wave after wave.

- connect the "cant join battle" timer to the portbattle entry. you cant join the portbattle after login for 120 seconds.

- let the attacker begin the portbattle, dont link it with an time but rather a timewindow created by the hostilitymechanic

If isnt working try find another working solution. But when you focus only on gameplay as you said: many people want to play because there is no realism at all. All we need is find good balance

All alliances have enough resources. Live Oak Log produced in Great Britain (1 port) and in Danmark-Norge (1 port).

 

 

At the moment, yes, both alliances have access to a Live Oak production source.

But for more than a week, the British/Dutch/US alliance was without a Live Oak production source.

25 brits vs 20 spanish....brits won. Well played.

Outside PB +- 50 brits and allies. Very hard for spaniards to break the screening fleets. Next time we will try better.

It was a fun fight. 

Having been accused of creating a specialised 25 man fleet at the expense of the fun of other players in the Nation/Alliance, we wanted to involve some of those other players in the Danish nation. I was sure we would get slaughtered, but overall they fought very well and eventually started following orders. The defenders should have reorganised and charged instead of cowering by the towers half the battle. We would have lost a lot more ships then. We had plenty of ships that were heavily damaged from fighting 10 vs 25 for the first half hour of the battle.

From the US side of things I agree it was  a fun battle. (as well as for the British that participated as well).

After the first 2-3 ,minutes we did charge the Danish fleet.  And yes, after the Danish 25 slots filled, we did eventually pull back to the protection of the towers at times.

The goal of the US (and allies) was to defend the port from conquest, and using the protection of the towers at times contributed towards us accomplishing that goal.

Thank you all (US, British, and Danes as well) for coming out.  

The driftwood from all the wrecked ships will help feed our fireplaces for much of the winter. ;)

I do remember shooting a broadside just at the second or two before the explosion..

One in a million shot from a dutch? Or lag/low fps caused bug?? Has anybody seen something like this before?

 

Edit: And I didn't have fireship fitting on board
