  1. No, repair amount stays the same, you only repair quicker with more crew on repair. In a matter of fact more crew in certain circumstances will give you less actual amount if you during repairing hits 100%, that's why if you are fleeing and taking rigging shots, you want as little crew as possible on repair if you keep hitting 100%, as the rep will still tick but no actual hit points are added.
  2. Has anyone managed to craft any ship with the "location named" bonuses yet, or have they only been spotted on AI ships?

  5. Cabalalaland This is a response to the declaration of war from the Dutch and french nation that left us with an empty promise of content. Due to the repeated encouragement from the US based players in the Dutch nation that have complained over the lack of RVR content, Cabal is now offering them content in their own timezone, dispelling any ambiguity that timers affect RVR in a negative way. This will be a alcohol and drugfuelled day and nightfrenzy stretching from french territories around Trinidad to Dutch La Orchilla, there are no clear strategic goal and anything at anytime will be targets of opportunity. We will listen to 90's Techno and KPop throughout, so expect a lot of good music posted in this thread. The region has not seen much content since the big wipe and currently aching for some action, new waterways to sail , new friends and enemies, it will all be there. However CABAL does not have the financial means to occupy the whole region and therefore kindly asks all nations to 0 port us in the region, when this is done(or when we run out of meth) the campaign will end. The french (without capital F) will be forced to partake partly due to the holdings they already have and partly because of the alliance crafted with skillfull Dutch diplomats. YES you get to shoot real french players. The Brits and Spanish have already set up shop in the vicinity and will join in on the fun, this has been promised, Swedes are there, Dutch, and Obviously Danes with their campaign NightTerror also dispelling the timers whine. What we need to make the themepark fully flourish is the arrival of the remaining nations, Russians , Prussians , Polish, US. Forget any previous grudges between nations and lets just kill each other in Cabalaland, left right and center, in an orgy of music, drugs and gore. Together we can make this happen. I am also stepping aside from formally leading the CABAL clan to a wholly administrative role. Leaving the daily running to the young guns in the clan in their mid 40's who can cope with the tempo of this game. TT

I think it would be great if the minimum players required to start a fleet practice would be scrapped, this would enable more players to use this feature and also facilitate for small arranged groups to fight each other. Example: In my clan decided to have a go at each other in fleet practice, but due to the fact that there was a minimum requirement of players this feature was not available/usable.
  7. Threat of content in a sandbox. All nations are hostile to all other nations with the exception of those clans that declare themself allies to each other. These are the mechanics. However from a rolplaying perspective you can claim anything, and the drama certainly makes a good read.
  8. Please give us a link to at least one of the videos that is already on the forum which implicates BF clan as in one way or another playing unfair. I doubt the devs will waste their time in investigating a whole clan without any reasonable implication or evidence.
  9. I assume you did a bug report (f11) with a screenshot right? Unfortunately, there are not enough devs or staff to check the logs or able to manually reimburse everyone who lost stuff due to bugs every time it happens. I sympathize with you and it would have been fun to see the screenshot, but consider your stuff lost.
  10. How about a scaling jointimer, 1min + 1min for every x br in initial tag. so a 6th rate tagging a 6th rate 1 min jointimer, 3 frigs tagging 3 frigs 3 min, 5 1st rates tagging 5 first rates 5-7min or something smilar to that?
  11. I joined this fight, and to my surprise the join circles seemed to be opposite of what I had expected, the dutch join circle was to the north and Swedish to the south. What I understand it depends of the location of the tagger and the tagged(and maybe the facing direction of the tagged/tagger), so I can only assume that the dutch ship was north of the Swedish ship, or had turned the last moment.

  13. Yes some mechanics are beeing reworked constantly over and over again. Rather then adding new content or features, batllemechanics ROE and RVR are constantly reworked even tough it is already of acceptable standard, nothing stops the devs from revisiting this after release or when more content have been added, but they keep insisting on redoing it. Now reading the forums, lately it now looks like they actually working in parallel. Some guys are wokring on next patch concurrently with some devs working on new features (in this case the UI as example). This I feel is a much better approach as it gives the players constant updates (thumbs up to the devs for that) to keep player retention high, and if it is cheaper in labor hours to rework stuff then I feel this is acceptable. But bottomline is, more content and features, and less fiddling around with existing content
  14. The ball already has a trajectory when leaving the barrel, rolled with all the modifiers. There is not a new calculation every 100 meters. The variable names are sometimes confusing and there are several other examples when different names have the same effect on the mechanics. Game is in production is the only reasonable excuse I can find for this. However those two examples actually does 2 different things, 1 of them is only applicable to the vertical dispersion only, and the other horizontal or both.
  15. I would prefer completely new features then see same mechanics reworked over and over again. However for these pvp nations to have a chance to succeed PB size must be lowered to 15 or so, alternatively implement the obvious BR sized pb where you either bring 10 1st rates or 25 3rd's, for a line ship class pb.
  16. The standings in this topic certainly only represents some clans views and by no means for the nation as whole. I would recommend that any clan who holds the "official" views stated in this thread signs it. All other clans should be considered hostile by default. Not that hard is it? Hopefully the next patch will bring us interclan status which renders this thread obsolete.
  17. This has been a long standing question for me as well. To summarize the question I think that you would like to know if same type bonus derived from different text has different effect and if so how. Short answer I don't think so. BARRICADES_MELEE_BONUS should give both offensive and defensive bonus fighting bonus. To elaborate I would like to know if the defensive bonus is in effect regardless of your action(when you hit musket, and enemy attack as example) on top of (brace, defense) as well as if it mitigates any casualties in other circumstances. AXES_ATTACK_BONUS and HANDBOOK_ATTACK_BONUS . offensive only (attack only) There is a boolean for axes that gives you disengagement bonus for axes as in fewer rounds to disengage, other then that nothing. In effect I am sorry to say that I think they all give same actual bonus when comes to boarding. I wan't to be wrong and I wish that axes for example would give some kind of extra bonus but I don't think they do. Would be great if an admin could fill us in or confirm that MELEE_ATTACK_BONUS 0.025, HANDBOOK_ATTACK_BONUS 0.025 and AXES_ATTACK_BONUS 0.025 has the same effect in the fighting or not.
  18. 1. improved UI, as stated this will be worked on. 2. Do not rework any mechanics unless they are low hanging fruits, currently this is going around in circles and will never be completed with current approach. Add new things or finish stuff in progress, don't redo what is working and tested. 3. Do not migrate to Unity 5 until game is finished or very close to, it is an unknown as you stated and from experience you will have to rewrite large parts, severely delaying everything else, from a players perspective it will look like you are doing nothing for a long time even if you making good progress internally with migration. 4. Wait with localisation until game is released, Germans/French/Russians can already play the game as is, and the Chinese can wait until release. This will cost man hours at the expense on all current players who would like to see progress elsewhere.
  19. As some suggested give random fire mode higher ROF. Currently I only use it by misstake and fail to see advantages enough to have it on normal firemode cycle.
  20. Yes KeelHaul are going Dutch and we not splitting the bill, it will be payed by our victims of chosen nation.
