  1. Exactly, we only need 6 frigates to sink 200. One of them sunk 33
  2. I'm feeling this right now: 1. Christian VII 2. Bucentaure 3. HMS Barfleur
  3. I've no desire, at least for the next 2 years of this game, to see the enormous late era ships in NA. Too many others yet to be made.
  4. When it comes time to give it a rework, here is a great resource on firing arcs from fore, aft and amidships on the gundecks. I'd like to see the difficulty level stay the same or increase slightly with whatever is done, I'd also like to see a more period appropriate aiming reticle, of roughly the same size. A Method of Concentrating the Fire of a Broadside of a Ship of War: With an Appendix and Several Subjects Connected with the Naval Service, William Kennish, Carpenter, U.S.N. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5n02pmx5etwzhap/A_Method_for_Concentrating_the_Fire_of_a.pdf?dl=
  5. She's being restored to 1812 build and specifications, will put to sea again in 2018.
  6. Just for the record, that's at the upper port sill, it's 25 at the waterline, just like on the Victory where it's 28 at the waterline and 18 at the uppermost portsill. Nothing to do with what you said though. When I do my test, everything will be 1 to 1
  7. Report that behavior, with screenshots, with names
  8. I've gotten hooked on audiobooks in the past 6 months, I'm devouring age of sail nonfiction on audiobooks.com. I've been a voracious reader since I was a kid and have always preferred real books over digital books, but I got addicted to audio and am not ashamed.
  9. Yeah, it's not staged, just looked him up, the guys name is Ian Henn, he runs Mainmast Conservation out of Cornwall, England, where this was filmed.
  10. I would trust the Smithsonian Institute would not allow that, besides the artillery expert is British, he would not have gone for that. That's tin foil hat territory.
  11. Yeah, we've (Decatur) been discussing all the possible American ships we might want one day and we all agree the ones who actually saw action would be much preferable.
  12. For example, I foresee us being simultaneously allied with a British clan, at war with another one, allied with a French, or a Dutch, per our strategic interests and at war with any and all pirates. If it will be setup for that to be possible.
  13. Is it me or does the sea sound a bit different there? Could be that my ears are used to 5.1 surround with the cannons rumbling the house and the sea sounds don't stand out as much as they do here.
  14. I photograph wolves in the wild, in Oregon, Washington State and in Yellowstone.
  15. Prater I completely missed your post haha...double tap
  16. Voted Rattlesnake. I want to note that if/when the USS Independence makes into the game it should be a 90 gun ship of the line, it wasn't razeed until 1836, well outside the timeframe.
  17. Pirates only came off well against unarmed or lightly armed merchants who didn't want to fight. Against any military vessel they were soundly beaten.
