  1. I dont get the OP anyways. We will have the Open World to test soon. No need for other gamemodes when we can have sandbox in the future

  6. Danish and dutch ships had to cope with shallow waters a lot. Thus they made their hulls wider to get lighter draft. You are totally right about leeway and the overall maneuverability.. Stil thi ship was my favourite ship in POTBS when I was leveling up my very first char. I loved her to bits =)
  7. The Indefatigable is not going to be able to mount bigger guns. At least not historically. 64 gunners were armed with 24/18/12 lbs. Sometimes even 24/12/9lb.They are not considered for big fleet actions for good reasons. They were either old, outdated or simply too weak for the line of battle. The Indefatigable's main battery will consist of 24 pounders just as the Consti's. Over all the razee's are barely an even match with the Constitution. But those were the closest you could imagine to put a fight against the American. The 24 pounders are the equalizer. They will be able to penetrate the sindes of the Superfrigate quite reliably. In terms of speeds and maneuverability there is enough good content here in this thread wich sounds resonable for me.
  8. So.. I worked a few more hours on this one. The bow is getting its decorations and handles, the hull is made thick and I modeled the gundeck and upper decks. Where I struggle the most is the Stern galley. And I have to modifie a lot of the edges to make the "subsurf" modifier work properly. Thus I only give you the rough outline of the hull. Mast are placeholders for me to get an idea.

  10. Simply write to toe support mail and send the devs your buy order from the paypal account. Devs said that a lot times. Sent them a mail and they will sort things out for you. Also: did you check your spam folder? support@navalaction.com is the adress you want to write to.
  11. I originally liked this idea, too. But When you have to constantly change the yards to match the perfect angle I am tapping all the time wich means I would always set them to the max in one or the other direction. Maybe do a tripple tap or give us the option to disable the double tap. I fear there could be a very thin line between "tap, tap, tap" and doubletap..
  12. So I went onto Blender and did some training on this kind of ships.. The data available for these models is so good that I hope to make a good hull at least. I am still fairly new to blender altho Ive modeled several stuff for learning the software. My first approach to blender is maybe 3-4 years ago. Ive done a lot of rough hulls for several kind of ships but I never came close enough to call something "good work" These ships really inspired me a lot and I hope to have the motivation to finish this little project. (yeah.. "little" I said)
  13. wow.. That PC is quite a beast and you still cant run it over 60 FPS? Whats your monitor resolution? The 970 should be able to deliver more imo. My old 7950 gives me 70+ FPS on custom (all maxxed out.exept of anti aliasing. But on a 1600x1050 monitor)
  14. so.. the bigger hips shall not only be better in armor and armament.. no he shall be a lot better in surviving in the battle? This game is not about kicking the puppies asses even easier.. It shall be a challenge for everyone. Wich you reduce a LOT by removing repairs to smaller vessels. If you know what your doing a repair is not going to save your enemy.

  16. So I am the shouter here: No magical skills whatsoever. Devs said this, too. This is not gonna be EvE or potbs. We captain the ship. We are nor magicains. Crewmanagement is already a part of the game wich influences the shiphandling passive. And it will get a bigger role in the future. For that I am sure since damage model 4 will require crewmanagement between the different decks. This subject has been talked over a lot times now. years ago, too. So I am pretty damm sure no magic will happen to Naval Action.

Then I may advise you to look up some of the subforums a little closer. 1: get a read in this guide for novices 2: there are quite a few TS-servers for NavalAction. They are hosted by some volunteers. 3: thats true. And devs are aware of this issue. Ty for mentioning is nonetheless. 4: We used to be able to do that. It was a mess with all the quit/ go in/ quit/ go in.. you get the point I guess

  23. Why do you start all the drama in the first place? A quick "sry for ram" is enough. You were focused on the little Cerberus, Maturin was focused on something different. Rams do happen all the time. There are two ways to cope with it. You can rant about it or you can act civil and apologize. One of those situations will make the battle a lot more fun.   25. Well first there is the NavalActioncrashsender.exe in your gamefiles. execute it and a bug/crashreport is sent to the devs directly. They then figure out what was wrong with your game. First few steps I would look over if it was my own problem: thermal issue of the GPU. Monitor your graficacard if the temps you get are over the top. If that the GPU not the game will crash you reliably. That will happen in any game wich brings your GPU to 99% usage. Check if the GPU is dustrfee (ideally) and if it gets enough fresh air and can exhaust the hot one out of the case.
