  1. If you can not give prove on this I say: Nope! The frigate we had is a modification of the frigate "HMS Diana". She is not been seen for a year or so. She was an early prototype for the devs to work with. We have the Trincomalee, Constitution wich are clearly not Chapman designs
  2. Not too far off, Sir. We already had the pleasure to command the majestic BISMARCK. A battleship from WWII. So maybe we will have a slight rebalancing going on with ironclads? irony off: Ironclads are well outside of 1820. And definately an overkill for the game right now. But we DID sail the Bismark last year on the 1st of April. Sad story the real Bis18marck70 did not have that pleasure huehue

  4. frequent occuring problems and their fixes and some other useful information I did not yet get the steamcode via e-mail. What shall I do? Help: Missing Steam key.   6. see here for some reference. Also If you do not have a dx11 shader model 5 able card you cannot run the game. You integrated GPU will run the game. Not at the fastest speeds but it will start by the specs of it.
  7. I dont know if you aware but this is one of "Fredrik henrik af chapman's" shipdesigns. The yacht for example is made from Chapman's scratch. So if you look for more details you can add his nametag for research Note that you have to look for "Plate IX" (No12) The sailplan you can use is from his book, too: http://www.cocatrez.net/Water/Libellule/History/Chapman_LXII_1.jpg Its "typical frigate". a fully rigged ship.
  8. That ship model of yours is simply stunning. And I think she is a very beautiful ship. Looks sleek and nimble. Maybe you can do a worklog in the Tavern or History section? I would definately look this thread up every day.
  9. Actually the devs said that the ships have to be launched until 1820. I cant find the post but I am sure about its meaning.
  10. The Indefatigable is an exellent choice imo. It fills in a gap towards the Contitution and every Hornblower fan will have a really great time sailing her. She would also be the 2nd ship ingame wich became famous by a novel I wonder if the poll stays on its course. I like it thus far hehe.
  11. Its already in the queque for this year. Last year devs showed a prototype model of this ship so you can expect to see her sometime.
  12. well thats a nice suggestion to give her the ability for greater carronades. I like it. Maybe we can have a close range brawler wich is fast and nimble enough to get to her enemies without receiving too much damage in the process of closing in. On the upper decks id say give her the long 6lbs and some 18lb carronades. edit to what Bismarck said: she should have a fighting chance against a Surprise. Not if the players are evenly skilled but when the Surprise does do some mistakes to regret.
  13. Well she is a light frigate or even corvette by french standards. The 9 pound frigate was quite popular amongst the nations in those times. As a lighter Frigate she will outmaneuver the Surprise but never be as fast as her. Surprise has very high masts. edit: Admin was just a tiny bit faster hehe

  17. Considering the ammount of ships you post lately.. dont u think one big thread about your discoveries wich include all the nie ships you have is better than a "flood of threads".
  18. Actually she was a frigate. Shipdesign changed a lot in the 17-19th century. And the Friedrich Wilhelm zu Pferde is a 1680 design. A lot of old frigates had two decks. Only when shipdesigners went ahead and could built longer vessels the typical one decked frigate would evolve. You can compare the size of this frigate (late 1600s) and one of the late 1700s like the Hébe class: Friedrich von.. (1680): 125 feet. (38,1 m) ->54 guns Hebe class (1781): 152 feet. (46.3 m) ->40 guns Thats 100 years apart You can observe such development within every class of ships. frigates and ships of the line especially. Have alook at the armament of rated ships and you see what kind of improvement the structural inegrity experienced.

  20. Well first welcometo the shipyards, sir. Sadly the development is constantly changing the technical requirements for 3d models. I have no idea on how exactly the devs cope with peeps like you. (obviously skilled producers) Your best bet will be to directly e-mail them (info@game-labs.net) and tell them about your experience and what you intend of doing for the game. Already one very skilled "shipbuilder" has had an exchange with the devs. So if you do have the ability and can proof it (sounds like you can ) you can expect them to listen and response. About ships. Well I guess you can ask the devs if you are allowed to model one of the pollships for this year. Or you have your own favourite you want to mention.
  21. This subject is talked over a few times now. I also suggest you to write such issues into the general damage/ shooting thread . Its a more likely that more players will see it. I can see a lot testers only going into this subforum because lately the general and suggestion forums are very active, too. that said I want alternate fire ordinations, too.
  22. You cannot tack by looking at you speeds. You must check the relative direction your ship is heading towards the wind. But there are so many videos.. no real need to try and explain this technic in words. Watch RAMJB, INK, or gamelabs videos about tacking sqareriggers.
  23. Ill state the devs here: That said we will get mid-class ships, too despite the wish of the community for bigger fish.. ship i mean. My initial thoughts were: What do we need? But after reading what the devs said I now think: whats a cool ship to have? Vote by your feelings. Not with your brain
