A Brief History of the Danish West Indies, 1666-1917 The Danish West Indies consisted of three small islands in the Caribbean situated to the east of Puerto Rico, namely Saint Thomas since the 1660s, Saint John since 1718, and Saint Croix from 1733. Altogether these islands make up only 333 square kilometers. The colony was characterized by trade and shipping in Saint Thomas and sugar plantations in Saint Croix, whereas Saint John was considered as just an appendix to the neighboring Saint Thomas. The three islands stayed a Danish colony until 1917 when they were sold to the United States

I may have already posted the sheer plan for this one, but it lacked the details for the stern, quarter galleries and the head, so I combined the two sets so you can see how the 'complete' ship looked like. Dimensions (imperial feet) Length: 118' 6'' Breadth: 31' 11'' Draught aft: 14' Draught forward: 12' 11'' Length to Breadth ratio: 3, 71 Armament 20 8-pounders 10 Falquonettes (1-pounders) Crew 173 Other ships in class: Tranqvebar (1762), Alsen (1764), Færøe (1766) Launched in 1774 at Friderichswaern (Norway), broken up

At first when i saw this vessel i thought that it was something of an ugly duckling however the more i look the better she looks (more modern than a British vessel of the same date) She is the Danish 78 gun Norge 1800. I love the way the stern narrows so that it looks like a 3rd rate with a frigate stern (should make stern raking difficult) plus her armament is impressive. http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=704
