  1. Good. Is a (LOKI) PVP victory tied to your missions? I never did get a definitive answer on that.
  2. @Snoopy, I like your OP for the most part because I agree with anything that puts more ships out in OW. I do have an issue with the concept that all nationals have access to port bonuses and can contribute to investments (even with the owning clan opening up their choices). I would rather that the friends list has no effect on bonuses (as you suggested), but that instead of allowing open investment, a national player must pay a fee (a hefty fee) to the owners, and then they may craft there with all the advantages. The owning clan deserve to profit from their work in taking and holding the port, and I have never been a fan of the ability to remove someone from the friends list, after they have built their own infrastructure.
  3. They have, but the OP says there was no PB.
  4. The 2nd class citizens on PVE will just have to live without it. Next you'll be crying for consensual PVP!! (Actually, I see nothing wrong with the OP)
  5. I think being able to target secondary guns on a second target is very important.
  6. A good historical reference is the Graf Spee, granted a pocket Battleship, against a Heavy Cruiser and two Light Cruisers. While she was not defeated, she was forced to retire with damage.
  7. They randomly change. I've been up at Charleston a few times and sometimes they are close to the port. Other times, you have to hunt for them.
  8. I don't agree with the OP. Plenty of times, I have been running in fear of the revenge fleet and a nice remote speed boost, well away from land, has saved my derriere.
  9. If you are close enough to see the torpedo launch, turn immediately. If you are not that close, alter every ten minutes or so.
  10. Yeah, it's an interesting tactical problem that I would enjoy gaming out. Quality of guns/fire control would play a big part. It's really a function of the secondaries to control the water space close to a BB, so their ability to engage multiple targets would matter the most. Can the BB comb the torpedo spreads until it cripples all the DDs? DD torpedo aiming was never exceptional, so they have to get into knife range. I think I would still bet on the BB as long as it has speed.
  11. It's certainly true that anything can happen in a battle. If a destroyer can manage to sneak in close and launch torpedoes that manage to hit their target, then yes...It's something that should be taken into account. That doesn't mean it should happen in every engagement. Even at Savo Sound, It was more of an accident that the US and Aussie cruisers were hit. The Japanese launched at night, at long range, in a narrow engagement area with the hopes of doing some mischief. The yanks didn't even realise that they were being attacked by ships.
  12. Sure, but if you're going to give we Scots a proper flag....It might as well be our favourite. We already have the Red ensign......Looks too English IMO! (and the St Andrews cross can be mistaken for Russian..)
  13. We also seem to be stuck on the best technology from WWII. Take a look at the Bainbridge class destroyer from WWI. I see no range finding devices there. Early Destroyers/torpedo boats were extremely unstable and had a pathetic gun armament. Other than a kamikaze delivery system for a torpedo, they should not be considered as a realistic threat.
  14. Please. We have a desperate need of a proper Scottish flag! (in the GB nation of course)
  15. When we are talking about pre WWII technologies, then the only gun aiming technology is optical. The larger gun mounts and/or range finding mounts could hold a much wider stereoscopic range finder, which obviously means far greater accuracy in range calculation. The more stable gun platform from the greater mass means that the shells are more likely to land in the vicinity of the target (prediction). It is a simple fact that a smaller more lively gun platform, say...a destroyer, will spread it's shots more widely.
  16. When you lawyer up, you effectively admit to guilt....
  17. Yes, I have a problem with this. While many complained about the complexity of crafting, I found that it added depth to the game and improved my immersion into the era. The loss of immersive crafting (and trading) made the game more one-dimensional and cost us a portion of the player base. Ship building is unquestionably easier and faster but that is not always the best option...Ask my GF!
  18. Loki was famous for his mischief. I think that is a major component of a Loki battle and it is intended by the devs that you must guess....or play in ignorance. For me, no warning and if I can't figure it out, that's my error. I have found that on several occasions the Loki player is on my side (I think??!!) and I've been inclined to blast him for potentially stealing my kill. No Tribunal for sinking an allied bot....
  19. It's entirely possible that they might put out the odd poll to see what the community thinks, but even that becomes problematic. Look at the Aircraft Carrier thread. The majority are in favour of this. From that, many will feel that it is a done deal and therefor will have raised expectations. When the Devs stomp on this because it's a DREADNOUGHT game, these players will feel betrayed. The worst thing they can do is ask the community for advice, frankly. Having said that, they should just ask me.....just because.....
  20. From my experience with these Devs on Naval Action, while they are happy to read over the forum posts, and they sometimes give input, you will not find them devoting much more time to this form of communication than what you see now. I'm not saying they don't listen, because they do. But holding our hands on the forums is not a priority. Keep tossing ideas out there, and I am sure they will be read, but you just can't expect them to react to every idea which we propose. You will most definitely NOT see a published plan, because their plans are subject to change and the drama that ensues when the forum members think they have been lied to is incredible.
