  1. Sounds good to me, well thought out. I think having differences in splinter rate will make wood choice much more interesting than just about speed vs strength, although for balancing reasons (real properties notwithstanding) maybe live oak should not have both strength and reduced splinter properties.
  2. In general i like the new sounds. I would like an option to turn down the seagulls though.
  3. AFAIK this has been the case since these perks were introduced. They must be aware of it, there has been a thread about it for some time. Edit: to clarify, it's known that the perks did not in fact give the advertised reload bonus. You may now have found the reason (the reload bonus might be applied, but the increase is to small to be noticeable because of this error)
  4. Dear Devs, Please let us melt down our coins to make the respective metal ingots. I wouldn't even mind if there was some inefficiency so that if you went ingots > coins > ingots you would come out with less ingots than when you started. (has 5k coins of every type but no ingots )
  5. This is pointless. The numbers you see are the net votes! 1000 votes for war with nation, 800 votes for alliance with nation will only display 200 votes instead of 1800! and i think there will be a lot of votes cancelling each other out... most ppl seem to not get the alliance system as i see many votes cast for combinations that are clearly impossible with current rules (and thus a totally wasted vote...)
  6. Any indication how long it will take to put a port into full hostility when there is no push-back from the owners? And is there still a limit of 10 ports in full hostility? And if a port is pushed past the limit to actually start a port battle 48 hours later, will that port still take up a top 10 spot for those 48 hours waiting for the PB to open?
  7. I very much agree that this game needs a way to surrender, or at least an end to a war that is enforced by game mechanics for a set period of time. We also very much need something between 'at war' and 'allied'. A neutral state that allows open world pvp but does not allow crafting of flags, or in the new system, the raising of hostility. Capturing ports should not be possible without a formal declaration of war. I also think alliances shouldn't lapse between voting rounds to be honest. To be honest I don't think the game will have much lasting interest without seasonal resets, allowing free nation swapping between seasons and maybe even a mechanism to shake up established alliances (new season means you can't ally the same nations as previous season).
  8. Just trying to figure out how long it will take for all the non-Spanish and non-British nations to get back to anything resembling a consolidated presence...
  9. You seem to miss the fact that this is a game. If you like to play a friendly game of football with your friends (or even 'enemies' from the other side of town) but you play dirty because you just HAVE to win, only two things can happen. In the end either no one wants to play with you anymore, or everybody plays very nasty and dirty and nobody will have fun. Good job, you just ruined the game you like to play. So, as the games stands now, there is no way to knock an opponent out of a war. That is a limitation of the game (and should be addressed IMO), but it is NOT a failure of leadership that they don't want to ruin the game for a large group of players!
  10. So you also want to have PB's in that noob area, but these ROE allow defenders to pick apart the assault fleet by dragging them into battle one by one. Or will the BR limit still be in effect, even if you can't drag the whole fleet?
  11. While i like these ideas for varied fleets (especially steels idea), they would need to be combined by some sort of queuing mechanism or match lobby room, otherwise there is not enough control over fleet combinations before entering battle.
  12. That's also why some of us got salty last Friday after the comments of the French. As you saw yesterday, having allies with you is a great advantage, but the amount of coordination required is so great it is not at all 'easy mode', and it makes the potential for mistakes much bigger. Maybe we should have the Danes and Brits fight over Pampatar while we sip coffee in Willemstad and Fort Royal respectively
  13. Congrats to the Danes for doing what the French have been trying for two weeks! Just wondering Tenahka how the Dutch having +/- 5 British in previous Pampatar defenses and 13+ in the combined fleet of last friday is 'killing the game', but when the french have only 2 guys in an otherwise Danish fleet while at the same time ninja-ing other undefended ports with skeleton fleets is 'smart use of allies.' Hypocrisy much? Still, having said that, yesterday was an effective plan and you have the ports to show for it, well done. Oh and, 'boohoo unfair 5v2!'
  14. Maybe not in 1v1, but you try a PB (or even OW battle) with 25 1st vs 25 5th rates and see how well that goes. As soon as the big slow ships have friends to protect the stern it becomes a question of broadside weight vs armor + repair capability. No amount of manouverability or skill will keep you out of the line of fire of ALL enemies. Not only that but winning a PB is more about keeping or getting BR advantage anyway. I will put my money on the 25 1st rates every time
  15. combined british-dutch dread fleet sailing out of the gloom of pampatar http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/478893369654895954/5BECB97AB9426471AF1BED8FE1BA7B35106F43E0/ beast with a thousand backs http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/478893369659749624/13BEBCA57E8585F93D224C9D58530060B91259B4/ derpy pavel smiley face http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/493520552415550767/CAF1B133F601F05429C199FA0668ACFC804B60E4/ CHAAAAARGE http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/491274240810321727/149FDE703E608928552170962773117FFB614337/
  16. And you did manage to delay the other flag (scarborough) in that same fleet long enough that we just fell short of planting it in time.
  17. After tonight's event i have a few observations: 1 If you save all the notes it's very possible to predict the general area. We were pretty close and judging by all the ships I saw so were a lot of others. 2 If you want to have pvp make looting take time so the looter needs to be protected or have everyone join a big instance. And have ships with a chest in the hold show it on open world like a conquest flag or something like that. 3 Loot is still pretty shitty: Our group got 9 chests and the only stuff in it was a few paints (cool, everybody likes to get that) and the rest was purple and gold mods (mostly purple), and not nice ones either. I would suggest putting more contracts, crafting notes and exclusively gold mods in there, but most of all paints and some more BP's...
  18. What is the point? there is no warship in the game that can fit a chest. You board a trader and then have to leave the chest in the battlescreen loot lol... Now if only there was a system where you can 'give' capped ships to groupmembers (while still in battle) And your combat ship in fleet? that's a good way to lose your ship... fleet Ai is fully retarded
