  1. Maybe it will give you a +ve adjust on all aspects of your Mortar Brig. From Opt Ballast to Build of your ship. But yeah would like to see a test. When you hit me you will also get a boost right...lol ?
  2. Remedios - I have to agree with Elric here. Time this time was on our side. I was left with splintered live oak, a few hammocks, planks and some hemp in a loose association that was once a Victory. The battle for the center circle saw the main US defense force and the French collide. The wind with the attackers. Late arrival of the French mortar brig caused me problems but not the towers. Good shooting whoever that was. The first battle rolled out with [CCCP] pushing circle C with [ELITE] and [IGG] were told to hold. This turned into the a typical [CCCP] v [ELITE] slug fest with both sides fighting hard. Kitchen sinks going in as usual... The US groundd out the defense holding off the French long enough for the timer to drop in our favor. On the whole a great fight and a very interesting port to fight... Norfolk nChance
  3. ELITE will attend and listen with an open mind. The date set couldn't be more foreboding though... Norfolk nChance
  4. SeaFox I had a similar problem a while back. The vessels all sat on top of each other. Most of the time it seemed to be enforced Window 10 updates and conflicts with nVidia driver updates. Suggest checking your drivers etc are up to date also the spec of your machine would be handy in the post
  5. Koltes, Yes, this is badly needed. The current NPC Nation overlay restricts the Open World gameplay. NA is at best a "light" sandbox but a sandbox all the same. The only caveat or devils advocate with the idea is down the road of the super clan dominance that may occur like in EvE with Goons etc mopping up smaller clans. Love the idea Norfolk
  6. Koltes Mike the Mongrel said something similar to me a while back and I like this concept a lot. All you guys know the mechanics what works what doesn't far better than I, but I'd like to add one suggestion if I may. We are talking multiple PBs over a longer staged time and in concept with a more realistic approach you are actually besieging a region. This as a far wider impact on the area than just the military defenders... So which ever idea you take... say a five day (24hr UTC Cycle) Regional Battle. Hostile mechanic triggers instantly all ai Bids and offers increase 25% across all the region. All ai products including ships, the amounts available to buy will reduce by 25%. Production Building Output will drop 25%. The Crafting of products will take a similar hit in length of time. Ships 25% more labor hours need etc....This then will continue to roll up every 24hr cycle. Second day 35%, third day 50%, fourth day 75% and fifth day 100%.... The defender, if they win the first PB keeps the inflated rise at 25%, lose the second it goes to 35%. You get the idea. The defender not winning inflicts hyper inflation on the besieged region. Other mechanics could be worked in with incoming Trade ships ai or not reducing inflation successfully docked within the region. The attackers not only need to win the PB... they need to screen continually... a regional blockade.... something like the hostility grind mechanic... This would mean you'd need screeners as well as the actual attack. It would encourage PvP, smuggling (selling overpriced goods). The coding shouldn't think be impossible to do... just a thought. Worst idea ever, let me know... Norfolk nChance.
  7. I like Rickard's idea over just the BR system but both are good. It would change the strategies somewhat and add a different dimension and I don't think that much more coding would be needed Norfolk
  8. Yeah the Cedar or Fir will push the PC Ren Corvette to 14.50. Simply I don't know the answer without a total test. Apologies I thought I had the solution especially when you'd spotted the Under crewing... Using fleets Id love to do more with. And in Battle would like more management control also ie... ship 1 go that position, ship 2 go to a different position. Unfortunately I only seem to use fleet now for transport. Not even as a blocker as the high end speeds I can get from LGVs make them really hard to catch. Adding a Fleet ship only slows them down. Key point is in FLEET a ship is classed as BASIC with 1x medium cannon. No matter what you've added... Norfolk
  9. I've had similar issues as Sir Texas and fleets in general. So this what I've being told and then I've tested... (never believe what ppl say, test it yourself) When you put a ship into your fleet, the game reads that ship as a BASIC version with 1x medium cannons. The Whole fleet will travel at the slowest ship speed. I had fleet Gold Heavy rattlers and Gold copper plate...doesn't make a difference. Its slow. And this was a bit of a kicker also, it might be fixed now but I took off my cannons... The Rattler still fired her guns... Games-Labs have made vast improvements since I started.. not that long a go and I've seen a marked improvements in the AI fleet... not perfect but not like the old days with them going all over the place.... For Sir Texas's Issue... It depends which one is in your fleet, and what your loadout is on the main ship... Sir Texas Fleet BASIC Trinc Speed 12.39 w/ Heavy Cannons 12.37 BASIC Ren Speed 13.69... w/ Heavy Cannon 13.06 Rule of thumb, fleet travels at the slowest ship speed... Now I assume Sir Texas loaded guns onto both ships. This will drop the main ship speed but the fleet one will only default to BASIC. EXAMPLE the Trinc is a 50 Gun frigate. Maxed out Sir Texas could have had 28x 18pds, 22x 9pds and 4x 9pds all LONG. Or His Renomme is a 30 Gun Corvette. Maxed 26x 9pds, 4x 6pds and 4x 6pds again all LONG. I doubt he would have this but its to show the importance of the lead ship. These are extreme heavy values to make a point, but if Sir Texas sailed the Corvette instead of the Trinc his over all fleet speed would be higher due to the TRINC now classed as having just one set of medium 28x 18pds. Unfortunately it would be rather impractical for capping. Target Fleet BASIC LGV Speed 11.90 main BASIC WVH Speed 11.27 fleet If the Target Fleet had the WVH as a main. Its Heavy Cannon load out drops its speed to 10.36...!!! I have a feeling that the answer lies in Sir Texas was in the Trinc and the Corvette was fleet. Even though Sir Texas guessed the target was under crewing I believe with the WVH it was just treated as a BASIC WVH. The LGV with no guns and Gold copper can push well above 12.45 with correct woods. And this is why he found it impossible to catch. Again its a guess not knowing all the figures and facts but that is I think is the reason why... Norfolk.
  10. This is why I wanted Rebel Witch's input. EvE is darker and yet its able on just one server cover so many player styles and levels I think successfully. The EvE choice at the start of four different nations as little effect later on as you progress in the game. And is more to do with your clan and who that clan is allied too. Naval Action is the opposite being fundamentally tied to your Nation. Whether you wanted to be allied to a same Nation clan or not. Do we need such ties to our original Nation for NA to work? Could it work on an EvE system with just Clan alliances? I don't think would work in practice but was trying to think of different work rounds... I had Two ALTs apart from my main in EvE, giving CCP a nice monthly fee. I know that was less than average for most player ALTs. This is a real money earner as I stated earlier and NA needs to tap into it as well as brand new players. Norfolk.
  11. yeah I thought strange also. Only why I bring it up is my clan mates suffered with the same thing and dumped out of TS3 as well. They are UK and I'm in Asia. Looks like just nothing or unrelated Norfolk
  12. Port Battle Report: Old Providence Defenders: GB Nation [ELITE] Attackers : Swedish Nation [ISN] & [SS] ELITE defended successfully reaching 1,000 points with all three circles covered, while the Swedes escaped also successfully to a friendly port order of battle will come from Flipper later.
  13. Never thought of that... So Ship XP learned on PvP(1) would be transferred to the PC on PvP(2) and PvE like the Rank, Craft XP and Labor Hours.... tied to the STEAM name Norfolk.
  14. I assume Officer Perks gets the expected revamp or is that for a later time? Norfolk
  15. Dev's, might want to check just now. Got booted out PvP(2), Ppl population dropped from 70 to 30 other clan members also kicked off... included TS3 also Norfolk ps One of my guys thinks it might be a STEAM issue
  16. Raekur as we've said and agreed that's just not going to happen, and probably not what we want. The focus will change now onto the alliance and ship wipe to come. This discussion I think will become sidelined until a later time... but I would like to hear alternate (pardon the pun) views on Command and Control from the very extreme to tame.... Norfolk.
  17. Rebel Witch makes a great point here and one I was thinking about but couldn't explain. Our Big Sister "EvE" you pick a Nation type to start but is irrelevant in the game as in Null-Sec (apologies for those that never played EvE Online). The Open Sandbox flaw for Naval Action is the NPC of the Nation States. I'm not sure that an OFFSET or balance could be implemented without PC Clan of clans controls even if very minor. Rebel Witch you must know EVE well, we had spies and massive corporate robberies and infringements with far greater impacts than NA, any thoughts or lesson to be taken here? Norfolk
  18. That is correct. It works Build 4 exceptional ships as above. You'll have 12 BPs DO NOT do it on the cheap. Mastercraft or below it won't work. It MUST have builds exceptional and have "Gifted" on. Other perks help also. I've done this, my clan members do it and others who read the guide. Have go.. and let me know. Norfolk.
  19. The Nation Head System basically will need to come into effect if you want an OW Sandbox with a low touch Dev Overlord input. The ALTs are what kept and are keeping EvE Online alive. This is true for NA also and don't be naïve to think otherwise. Customers that are willing to pay multiple times for exactly the same product are highly welcomed in any industry. So we all need to look at ALTs in a very different light. They HELP NA survive. How then do we mange them? Or don't we? No one will disagree with a clan head kicking out a member. The clan revolts can happen like in PvP(2) US with the US recently. But we as a community are totally against a Nation Head type of control because of past legacy issues and abuse? What about a simple vote system. Each nation member can vote for a new head bimonthly. Each nation member gets 1 vote per login per day from the last vote. Thus those that are most active actual have the most votes rather than a super clan with dead players...? Funny thing now is politics got a whole new dimension and them ALT spies having votes...!!!! Snoopy, not trying to go for the worlds second most worst Idea you've ever heard but had little input from you. Give us some direction to improve the game fella Norfolk nChance
  20. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=821902779 LordMustang this is a guide I did a while back. Most of it is still relevant and point you in the right direction. Norfolk nChance
  21. Fair enough Guys, Bad Idea all round then.... back to the drawing board. I do like the idea of a spy and its activities in whatever form that takes. Without the OFFSET though it can't work forever thanks for all the replies. Learning all the time Norfolk
