  1. MacJimm, I've noticed you've being stamping all over the Caribbean meeting Captains, doing trade deals with anybody and everybody you feel like. Meeting Pirates and the odd whore while making a bit of gold on the side. Now I may be getting slow or forgetful in my old age but didn't see or hear you pay any respects to our King? Did you? You may ask, how come I know all this information. This confidential parley you have for the trade runs and free ships you received (not to mention the women). Well let's just say it's my fcuking job to know… But come now, please don't think this is just a simple shake down. Let's sit over a glass red and let me introduce myself MacJimm… My name is Norfolk nChance, named after my mother. But you probably guessed that already. Here working out of Kingston/Port Royale I run a small elite group of Captains that get asked from time to time help our fellow Captains like yourself that may get into trouble. I also sell insurance which will give you protection in case the racket you are in falls apart. Here is my card, you'll need it. Other services we offer can range from escorting high value trade ships through dangerous waters, or deliver a message for someone to a Captain, Group or Nation of the non-written kind. We at ELITE are not here to make this game of life harder, we are here to make it harder just for you if you don't pay… that type of Message MacJimm Anyway time is pressing and I need to be moving along. So let's talk Brass Tax. You owe me some respect that I can pass along to our King. But I know right now money is tight. I've a little job for you if you want to except it? It will clear your debt to me and with handsome left overs? Want to know more Macjimm? The Job… That’s the spirit. Now go get a Trader Brig. Dump the two lynix's. You need to travel to the Freeport of La Torture. Am sure you can read a map. Well I've a friend I owe some Cognac too, it's not a lot but make sure you fill your hull to the top. It will cost you $720 each or less. Watch the weight don't overload the brig. My friend, he's called "Ink the Dev"… looks real mean tattoos everywhere. But knows everybody. He lives in Mortimer which is just a small jump from La Torture. Seriously half day tops. And the women in Mortimer are to die for. Now there's a snag here. And its why people need people like elite. You need to smuggle this type of cognac into Mortimer. All you need to do is when in La Torture ready to depart just tag this flag on the mast before you press sail. You must have the smuggler flag on so the Mortimer port guys I bribed will let you in… Get there sell him the Cognac in the shop he'll pay $1,400 each. Yeah Macjimm, I saw those eyes light up. Now with the proceeds buy as many Madagascar Jewels that'll fit in the hold $11k each. I know this Madame and anyway her niece got into trouble. I obviously the loving Uncle I am, I'm obliged to help her out. Go back to La Torture and sell the Jewels to her in the shop. She'll pay $19k… You keep the money we are even… If after that you want to know about a secret Island I know of, and have grown a pair. Come and see in K/PR. And remember tis always good to have Insurance to protect ones racket. Nice doing business with you Macjimm, and by the way the King is grateful Norfolk nChance
  2. Chaps, I've seen this issue time and again across all three servers. What I think you are seeing is the UTC server clock that is reconciled with a local router clock. In my clan I live in Hong Kong, have players in the UK and US all on at the same time. When they all log off its obvious UTC is reconciling to the local characters router time and not UTC. On a similar note to Ink I and my clan members are having PB hostility percentage updates woefully slow. I understand the recycle time log off log on but even so this is more different. My US guys get the update quicker than myself HK or others in EU.... FYI this all PvP US(2) keep up the great work Ink fyi... Norfolk
  3. Since our last head to head which was Cap Francis, then I was worried you'd use the Mortar Brig and a lot of GB Alliance would be trapped in the awkward harbor. If you recall I also purposely made two ELITE interdictor's in Connies to either catch the mortar or get round the larger SoLs to cause chaos and mayhem. This didn't work quite the way I wanted, we needed the fire power more of the larger ships in hindsight.. In the Port-au-Prince pre-plan I had the same idea... "Primary Sir Texas mortar brig" was known to front end CKA and ELITE interdictors. Similar layout and similar worry over congestion. My thoughts focused too much on what I believe to be the secondary battle post PB with SoL Danes and trapping 4th Rate Pirates quickly. Going over Les Cayes time and again with PvE missions etc. The more sprawling layout or flat structure led me to think the Mortar would be useless because you'd have to be so accurate it would be in effective. Also yes and the wind that left hand side agreed. That tower strike was like a punch in the gut.Tell me points wise, Two Towers a fort and the accuracy they could add significantly to the PB score card so why aren't they used more? Dumb question I know... The ship you hit I think was my Battle Commander Flipper. He sank eventually but I don't think it was you alone. I'll pull his bullet log then we'll see just how much damage it dose... The CKA and BSR teams are really clicking. The mid game push to get the Danes grounded back onto that island... my plan nearly got there... Raekur [CKA] was the guy in a fast Romnee nearly got Budgie or Hazty at the start. Maybe I should make him my Interdictor specialist. Rather than whos got what, he new what was needed to trap and tag. The CKA mortar brig specialist I need to work with him more so he can show me how they work and can be utilized... anyway till next time o7 Norfolk nChance.
  4. A very good PB indeed. We lacked maybe numbers yes but not really. Very tactical and we had a plan (my fault)and stuck with it. From the GB alliance side we sounded much better comms wise, Cover and cross support was really working well. High quality feedback back and forth. The Danes probably can fill in more details but I think we caused them more confusion and damage than they expected prior to main contact? Rolling round the main Dane strike force to keep the far right circle B populated. Just needed that break. The Pirates capped outside three as Sir Texas states, we tried it also but need a bit more practice at that or luck, but one of the CKA guys nearly did it. This unfortunately came back to haunt GB as the Danes made them extra few numbers count as the battle wore on. The mortar brig caused us no end of problems. Positioned far left or C circle and undefended. I sent the main ELITE force that way. Just after the start it had a direct hit I think on one of our towers costing us 50pts. Didn't seem much points wise but motivation wise it unsettled us a bit that it couldn't be taken out sooner. The CKA Pushed hard to get the Danes into the island shallows while keeping a defensive stance. Great work even with odds against them. The Danes came with exactly what I expected. All guns blazing. Well done ChaiLang and Co. We lost the PB, but boy we learned a hell of a lot... next time next time.... Norfolk nChance
  5. Longdong Silver, The timings are more critical than you think. Your mission in PvP is open for 5 minutes to other players. Some pointers may help, use the aerial view first [Home] twice then [z] then middle mouse button. Look around first before entering especially from the wind view point. 5 minutes with the wind you can move along way. Secondly Sav La Mar missions is a popular spot so to speak. Turn the tables if you were a pirate what would you do...? sit in a hidden alcove just before Montego Bay or just off the horizon and do the aerial view. Wind in your favour sit and wait. Chances are you never checked beyond your line of sight and entered. All he had to do was go full sail and bingo... Try it sit off the coast round the corner off the line of sight and wait. See on long it is before a player plods along. make sense? Norfolk.
  6. from what I gather, remember I'm new but all who play PvP US(2) have an alt on EU but this is there main play right? whether time zone or whatever. Just concerned me on Jeheil YouTube Parley how PvP1 just through around PvP2 comments adhoc. In all fairness Costs to EA is tiny server wise honestly it wouldn't be an issue, numbers obviously on it are... just trying to get facts straight that's all.
  7. How many of you guys play on EU(1) also? Is this your main alt base? They have a load more players and yet still suffer (comp[lain) the port timer situation
  8. Sir Texas, Congratulations on yesterday and today's rouse. This is one of the basic core key military strategies that was not only used by Napoleon in the NA era but in every conflict from the beginning of time right up to the Vietnam conflict, the IRA in the UK and current operations with the Taliban or ISIS. You might be my enemy but well done Sir Texas on your execution and timing, brilliant… o7 So if you want to read on… This is what the Pirate Nation are doing, this is just the basic strategy and underlying tactics. It's a tad dull but I thought some might like to read it. If you want a cure for insomnia this will help. Junior Pirates, if unsure of why you were told to do something, or fcuked up a plan and don't know why, you might want to read on also… Further references: http://www.theartofbattle.com/ The main written work on this subject is called "Strategy: The Indirect Approach" by Basil Liddell Hart. Am sure you can get a free PDF of the work or on Amazon.com General subject area is Guerrilla warfare and the Forced Multiplier effect. If you are faced with a much larger force it's better to miss-direct, confuse, agitate and depress the enemy. When you are far away, appear to be close at hand, when near the enemy appear far away. When you engage him make sure it's with total war and you have a much larger force at the point of contact (the forced multiplier effect)… The strategy like any other has some fatal flaws if used incorrectly, I'm sure Sir Texas knows this but hopefully if you were with me in today's port battle event or you were sunk in last night's action don't disappear please read on how to counter it. The above examples I pointed out in the opening paragraph you've all probably heard of. The common theme is they all eventually failed or are currently on the back foot. The surprise shock leads to confusion that then turns into fear. The problem with this is the longevity of the operation and is its own worst enemy. The smaller force must keep adapting and changing its routines time and time again and if they slip up, make one mistake it all crashes. This becomes an exhausting process on any and every measure. The larger slower creature can and does absorb this process at a much smaller or cheaper rate than the smaller opponent, but only If the larger force becomes aware of this particular strategy been used against it. On the whole we need to become a lot more organized with coordinated information gathering and delivery. Making good use of Coordinated response teams with a support line back up is what's needed. You actually do this already but might not realize it or make use of the vital information you have at hand. It needs a central hub to process and collate data to make an informed decision. I will go into the details of this with you and your clan leaders later if requested. The Pirate strategy was brilliantly executed, however this type of warfare is best suited for a much smaller force. The Pirate Nation is the third largest on PvP US(2) I believe. Yes it was better organized this time but its core army needs to be pushed, man handled, educated every time it implements a new rouse. The pressure on the senior officers is exhausting with prolong use. This amplifies when you only need one idiot to give the game away… Therein lies the problem how many idiots and senior officers does Pirate have….? Too many… the third largest Nation... Take a very young unknown small but determined force with one command head and one coordinator added to the well trained team… well let's just call them care bears for arguments sake…. How do they control, agitate, take over and strike continually when and where at will…? Six weeks seems a very long time when on the receiving end of a properly executed plan. What you see is what they want you to see, When you put 2 and 2 together it's because of the trail of breadcrumbs that were intentionally left for you to find. If you remain unfocused and unaware the rouses will continue to work with ever more impact. I do believe PvP US(2) as warmed up, and is about to catch fire…! again well done, and with regards Norfolk nChance
  9. hahahahahh STOP Sir Texas am half way through writing a response to your battle strategy give me a chance to write it...!!!!! Norfolk
  10. That's great Dekomori, this is Marrius thread with the general loose outline and you or your officer can ping him in-game regards Norfolk
  11. Koltes, thanks for the feedback. Still trying to work out who's who. Am a bit slow but am getting confused between gameplay mechanics here(pirates the much loved villains of the story). And your solution. Should I not go to listen to this meeting? remember am new here so sorry for being dumb. Should ELITE just turn Pirate and cause hell for all? I think I can still fight BLACK but not sure how a port battle would work with both sides Pirate. I would of course still offer my protection for Simon and Budgie through my backyard. Can't be too careful with those fluffy care bears about. If I'm supposedly the person who will end up running this Server in the not too distant future. I thought choosing GB nation because that's the same nation as we (elite) use on the other servers. But it doesn't really matter which nation I am just as long as the end result is the same. Pirate just didn't cross my mind. But again thank you for the feedback, and I do like the website fyi. You keep those ideas coming... Norfolk nChance
  12. will send details later... and TeamSpeak etc... NnC Marrius will send you the details directly o7
  13. ChaiLang, Kung Hai Fat Choi will you be attending the meeting? I think it will be about 9am for us on Monday morning? Norfolk nChance
  14. Maybe I'm at a small advantage not carrying the baggage that everybody seems carry here from all Nations and all clans. Anybody over six months on PvP US(2) seems have this extra load and bitterness. Sir Texas as you know I don't do "little circle jerk meetings", and I won't suffer fools gladly my time is way too important for that. I'm willing to help get the ball rolling and with an open mind. You are a Senior Player on this community and it needs your help. Even Simon bringing players across from PvP1 is great news... Marrius has already stated he had to pick his battles just get the ball rolling. Correct me if I'm wrong but within the last two months gameplay from reports seems to have improved with better player numbers even though still small. The Port Battle timer is a real issue that needs solutions. Other items also... Lets give Marrius some support at least. If it is a Circle Jerk I will be the first to leave. Lets see after the first meeting and his report. Tell me I'm an idiot and I'll just get back in my box. Norfolk nChance
  15. Actually I agree with Ned here. I think the Pirate nation should be included. I thought the talks were to try to increase the player base on PvP US(2). Mixing up the game mechanic and the player community can be confusing at times, but I will admit the pirates are a significant part of our player community. But I am new to PvP US(2) and have a lot to learn still, correct me if wrong. regards Norfolk nChance (elite-clan)
  16. I agree with Lord Vicious and the rest of the Captains above, Unfortunately the Dev's are having real trouble changing just the port battle timer on PvP US(2). I think adding limits to the number of SoLs or/and a BR limiter is a real solution and a brilliant idea. But if the timer is such an hard issue to solve, these ideas are way off down the road realistically... don't expect anything, anytime soon. I hope I'm proved wrong. regards Norfolk nChance
  17. Yeah My fear was getting trapped with the small harbor, a lot guys around and the L'O is not the quickest. Then a mortar brig dropping ordinance on me. The thought was to go at your A Circle team rather than stand. The Bellona had a quick ride. We thought you were a FIRESHIP the speed you moved at...
  18. Two Port Battles in a day, both fun with Bridgetown(4th rate) earlier. We (ELITE) are still climbing up that learning curve..one rung at a time slowly...!!! Managing the right ships for the right job is a real strategy test. Tonight (Cap-Fran) I wanted a couple of guys in the lighter ships as interdictors to either take out a mortar brig if you brought one or to get in behind your big guns to rake havoc, which I knew you guys were bringing from the build up a few days prior... But on our left side (A Circle), against the wind a tad (not an excuse) we gave you too much space too quickly. We live and learn Norfolk
  19. Will check with our guys if any have screen shots etc and revert. It was a very good battle indeed, great fun. Carried on after with our guys and the Danes somewhat, all the way up the coast line to Mortimer. NnC
  20. Herman, the list will only be from the last server cycle and that particular port. It already partly exists in API form now, I remember the earlier version of this site had the individual port traffic and time. This is a great piece of API retrieval, but in my mind stepping too far over the line. IMO http://navalports.mdb-dev.es/ I took your idea with my thoughts and did a post on STEAM page as well to see what comes up rgds Norfolk
  21. Herman, I do like the idea, but more to Chijohnaok's way of thinking "walking the wharves...". The visibility would only be available once you've docked, not from another location or an API feed. And in the spirit of the walking you'd come across information about ships that just left... Maybe adding a Officer Perk mechanic "shipmasters port log" which will show the port entry and exits of vessels from said port from the last server maintenance roll. Or a one time "Bribe Masters Port Log" function costing X-amount... Norfolk nChance
