  1. Please search before you create a new topic. The most recent discussion of this is here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/12779-different-wind-direction-in-ow/?hl=random+wind#entry231523 There is also a poll related to this topic here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/16583-idea-for-new-wind-system/ Thank you.
  2. Please do not "bump" or +1 for fun. Please post the latest news about your clan to move it to the topic. Bumping/+1 is against the rules.
  3. And that is a problem that should be addressed. Admin himself has stated repeatedly that morale isn't currently broken and that the crew remaining during boarding are those still willing to fight. It's possible press gang was not modified to account for this.
  4. Thank you for your feedback. A few comments in response: On speed, many of us are purists. However, most of us don't want to wait an hour to close with an enemy. Gameplay doesn't feel as frenetic as you get into larger ships, but I'll agree, most people in game carry FAR too much sail compared to what would have happened in real life. Maybe at some point the developers will consider a far high risk of rigging damage when a ship's rigging is hit while carrying more canvas than battle sails. Crew and striking - when it's a trader vessel, it's still kind of lame that you have to kill them to the last man with grape to get them to strike. Bear in mind when you're actually boarding, the current model actually simulates crew "hiding" as part of the crew remaining. It's not that you're killing every last one of them, it's showing the crew left that are still willing to fight. When you say it takes dozens - I'm assuming you mean cannonballs. In reality, ships were extremely resilient to cannon fire. In most cases, ships struck due to crew loss or total loss of maneuverability. In game, ships tend to sink after having an inordinate amount of fire poured into them. What you're seeing in game better represents what you'd see in real life if the crew were zombies and the Captain could come back from the dead (and didn't care how many "zombies" he lost in his fight). It may just be the nature of an online game where we're safe behind a keyboard. Raking is still fluctuating. It sounds like the general consensus right now is that a stern rake is still a little weak compared to real life, but then we're still testing and tuning here - good feedback thank you. Mast loss also is still fluctuating. See above. We've had a few builds where they'd go over the side at the drop of a hat.
  5. The only way to solve this is with an F11. Posting here doesn't give the developers the information they need. Finally, this is a pre-release game. There is no large support staff to deal with tickets. Please have patience.
  6. The ONLY way for action to be taken for chat violations is to right click the user's name on the offending statement and click the "report" button. Tribunal is not to be used for chat violations.
  7. Unfortunately, I don't have administrative rights on the forums, so I have no idea. That would be an awesome way to work around the issue though.
  8. The extension helps to keep people from creating links to malicious software/scripts in the forums. Since steam images do not have an extension, the current forum software can't tell if it's a script, executable, word doc, or whatever, so the image is blocked. You'd be better off petitioning Steam to add extensions (or a linkable address) to their image system.
  9. I don't like the blow up ship option - this was nearly never done as far as I know. Even USS Philadelphia, after capture by the barbary pirates, was simply set on fire rather than blown up. The chance of getting away after setting a fuse like that in a magazine was far lower than simply setting the ship on fire. That said, I love the idea of being able to set a captured ship on fire in the battle instance. In order to do so, after boarding, you should have to sit still in boarding range for 3 minutes. There should be no resulting explosion from this action.
  10. I'm really sorry to hear you're having trouble with your chat. It doesn't sound like you were banned, something else must be wrong. I've moved your post to the support forum so it can receive the attention it needs.
  11. I'll add my support for having it in ports - it made sense and was common practice at the time. Doing it in the battle screen though, no thank you. When the battle is over, the wind is the wind.
  12. So long as Cabo remains a free port, you should be fine leaving your ships/goods there.
  13. You have no rights, regardless of your locale, that deprive another of their right to private property. The forums are private property, and you must agree to the rules to continue to visit that property. You don't get to come into my home in the real world and curse at me or my family, or my other guests, because you have the "right to say what you want". I can, for example, tell you to "get out", and if you don't obey my wishes to leave, the Police will be by shortly to enforce my will with violence if necessary and forcefully remove you. If you're going to run around yelling about your "rights", you may want to first understand how the law actually works.
  14. This is the proper place to give feedback on the 1st PvP tournament. You must keep the conversation constructive. This topic will be heavily moderated. The discussion should revolve around needed changes to the format, rules, discussion of rulings, or other ways to make the tournament better overall. Actions related to specific teams or accusations of cheating, etc. will be hidden.
  15. Err, 90% (at least) of the moderation team resides in other than former-Soviet nations. What's your point?
  16. Thanks Skully. Please continue this discussion at Skully's link.
  17. Ok, you people must stop it with debauching the sloth all the time. Somebody get that thing some coffee please....
  18. It's easier to moderate when people do not know exactly who or what you are. We agree, moderators should moderate with an even hand, and we all check each other's actions (and frequently ask each other for feedback and another perspective) on a problem before taking action - it helps us to moderate as fairly as possible.
  19. That would most certainly cause problems. Glad you got it sorted.
  20. There is a way into the port - you just need to find it. Bump around on the shoals until you get it figured out.
  21. Off topic posts have been removed. Please stick to answering specifically the questions that Admin has asked. Feedback about the alliances system itself and ideas for same must be made on the following thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/15871-alliances-feedback-topic/
  22. My suggestion with that much data (and that many "special" characters to check) would be to set up a Google Sheet with the data and link it with a read-only link. As for the bug, you'll want to go to the IPBoard forums and post it there - GameLabs doesn't program these forums.
  23. If it doesn't help, please run a connection test (it's an option when you first start the game in steam) and report the Bug number here. Thanks.
  24. Please use the official feedback thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/15979-official-dead-mans-chest-event-feedback-heavily-moderated
