  1. Being a customer doesn't give you the right to be rude sir.
  2. Posts such as "what bulls***" and "half of this patch is garbage" in feedback threads were deleted. They were single line posts with nothing useful in them other than you wanted to be angry. If you'd like to post in feedback threads - provide feedback. Why is it something you don't like? What could be changed to make it better? If my boss shared a new idea with me and my response was "what bull****", I'd be fired. You don't treat people that way in meatspace, don't treat them that way here either. People make posts that are critical of the game and the developers' actions daily on these forums without them being hidden or edited - mainly because those posts follow the rules and are at least respectful and constructive. Most reviews that claim dev censorship are people who prefer to insult or use foul language, despite the forum rules, and then throw a tantrum when their rule violating, abusive posts are deleted.
  3. Since y'all can't play nicely, and rather than issue a dozen posting bans, I'm closing this thread. Go to the EU server, don't go to the EU server, nobody cares. Do what makes you happy - this is a game and is for fun.
  4. Yup, this is all done now. Thanks for posting. An exploit was discovered, it was fixed in a very short amount of time. Another exploit was also discovered and reported that day, it was fixed too. If you're not ready to play a game that is in testing, you should probably not play Early Access games. Free speech does not apply to internet forums. Please read the rules. Have a wonderful day.
  5. What exactly is abuse? You violated at least three or four forum rules with that post, including extreme disrespect towards the Developers. I would recommend you read the rules linked in that warning please.
  6. Better to iron out unintended consequences in test, considering the hostility that a large portion of the playerbase exhibits to large changes. I'm sure there will initially be a large number of bugs and issues, and test is a good place to iron those out before everyone has to experience them first-hand.
  7. Well stated Christendom. Too all posters, please get back on topic.
  8. Please make sure you're hitting F11. Please also provide as much detail as possible about what other focii you may have hit just before hitting surival.
  9. We're not big fans of many of the new forum version's features either. My recommendation, because Game Labs is forced to upgrade by ipBoards, is to go to the ipBoards sites and complain (respectfully) about the features you're missing and the features that aren't working.
  10. This is a pretty good suggestion in my book. I'm sure it was locked down on PvE due to mechanics and abuse potential. I'll bring it up with Admin. Thank you.
  11. Last I recall, your fleet sails as slowly as the slowest ship on that particular point of sail (wind direction).
  12. Please don't make us issue warnings for those who saw fit to break the forum rules regarding accusations of exploits. Last chance to start following the rules.
  13. Please allow time for an investigation to be made. There are a lot of assumptions being made here, a lot of them are false. I know for a fact that an investigation is happening. How effective it can be is subject to possible limitations of the current logging and database system. It's a lot harder to investigate and find a solution that won't accidentally delete "good" items than to fix the bug itself - massive updates to a production database, and systems to parse logs that will work to find the problem, are NOT always easy to do. I have made a good living for nearly 20 years as a software engineer, and have had first hand experience (unfortunately) attempting to determine good data from bad data - it can be VERY difficult. Give it some time, allow the system to work, and let's keep the torches and pitchforks to a minimum until there's real reason, and real proof (if any) of wrongdoing. We have a new rule today: Please read the note from Moderation at the bottom of that linked post.
  14. Effective Immediately Accusing people or groups of cheating, or exploiting in the public forums or in game chat is not permitted with the following exceptions: If you have video or other effective and conclusive proof, you may post that proof along with the accusation in Tribunal. If you do not have video or other effective proof, but instead suspect there may be wrongdoing, you may use F11, or Private Message Ink and/or an active Moderator on the forums. Please provide as much evidence as possible, and please F11 and note the bug number where applicable. If you're messaging Ink or the Moderators, it helps to have bug numbers (they look like NAB-12345, but bug numbers are not required) so that your complaint can be properly investigated. Those who violate this rule in game are to be reported via right clicking the person's name where they made the statement, and selecting Report. In the forums, please click the "Report" link at the top of the post. Violation of this rule can result in withdrawal of your in game chat and/or forum posting privileges. ---------------------------------------- A note from the Moderation Team: We would prefer that exploits (with reproduction) be provided via F11 or through a PM to Ink and/or an active Moderator on the forums. If you feel an exploit has not been addressed or handled in a timely manner via F11, I assure you that including a few active Moderators in a PM will get you very quick attention so long as there is enough detail for us to replicate the bug. Moderators are players just like you, and we come from almost every nation in the game - we do not like to hear about exploits and all hell breaks loose behind the scenes when one is brought to our attention and we are able to replicate it. I have personally been involved in around four different exploit reports. In every one of those cases, I had personal attention from a member of the Development staff within no more than 2 hours of being able to replicate the exploit and a fix was started shortly after. We, as moderators, are very invested in a fair and fun game for everyone (we play it too, and with the same limitations in rank, money, etc. as players), as are the Developers. We'll work with you to make sure identified and replicatable exploits are addressed and fixed as soon as possible. Help us help you.
  15. This topic is about good fights. Not night flips being good or bad, not unfounded accusations of wrongdoing, not about bugs that are currently being fixed. Further off topic posts will result in a warning. Regarding exploiting and cheating. All accusations of exploits or cheating are to be posted in the Tribunal, WITH acceptable proof. Accusations are not to be made in the forums at large, nor are unfounded, unproven accusations. If you have proof, great, go to Tribunal and post it. If instead you're going to run around pointing fingers and causing problems, you'll find your ability to post curtailed. You can view the new rule here: Let's get back on topic.
  16. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like the security certificate lapsed. I'll point it out to the Developers.
  17. This sounds a lot like something between you and the servers is dropping packets. I have this problem a lot with my cruddy wireless router when I'm not hardwired into my network.
  18. Definitely read and continue the discussion on the post that Powderhorn linked. Locking as a duplicate.
  19. Hah, the gleam in a Captain's eye when he saw a lawful prize on the horizon made everyone at the time rather "piratical" (though admittedly an enemy naval vessel treated honorably captured sailors and officers with a fair amount of kindness and goodwill). National naval vessels sacking an enemy port and stealing anything not nailed down isn't unheard of.
  20. Ok, looks like everything has started back up and the Wiki is back in action. If you have any further problems, please let me know.
  21. Hi there. The host provider for the server had to service the hardware it runs on due to a problem. For whatever reason, the server doesn't appear to have booted up after they brought up the hardware. I'm troubleshooting it now.
  22. People paid for this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=259130636 A promise that new things like ships would be added to the game forever was never made, nor is it reasonable. Paid expansions are completely normal in video games - additional ship packs can be thought of as paid expansions if you like. Either way, this idea that somehow the community is entitled to new things forever at no additional cost is a fallacy.
