  1. And not likely to come any time soon. The feature is very near impossible to implement correctly.
  2. No thanks. This just leads to people tooling around in Privateers and letting the AI do the dirty work. I'd personally rather the player be personally involved in boarding and other fighting as much as possible.
  3. If people have set timers at times when there will be no one available to defend the port, set an alarm and go take it. Should be extremely simple to do. There are no rules requiring port timers be set at a particular time based on any criteria. We've hashed this one out over and over, let's stop wasting time on something that is currently on the table for redesign. Thank you.
  4. Please right click and select the "Report" button on any offensive names. The people reviewing the reports have access to native speakers from most major languages and if the name is truly offensive (not just in poor taste), it will be handled. Thank you!
  5. This thread is finished. Further claims of "exploits" due to the intended game mechanics regarding port timers will be locked without comment and warnings may be issued. There is no exploit in setting a port timer when you feel you can best defend the port - that is an intended game mechanic. As previously mentioned, it is also a feature that is being redesigned because the overall game experience that it engenders isn't fulfilling the Developers' expectations. As such, threads like this are pointless and a waste of time. Please move on. Defend your ports when you've set the timer. If you don't like the timer on a particular port, attack another one. I personally advocated to allow the port capture mechanic to continue to exist (the option to stop ALL port battles for the next few months was on the table) because port battles still allow the game to have another goal other than "find ship, kill ship" or "afk fishing". Those battles still allow large scale player interaction and provide entertainment to a large number of people who can accept that the game does not revolve around them personally. This is an international game. All servers are available and open to all players, regardless of location or label. Demands for servers to be restricted to people in a particular timezone are out of order. Thank you.
  6. We're talking about surrender here, not capture (I think - if I'm wrong, please correct me). Boarding someone does the same thing under this proposal that it does now. The effects of my proposal basically do the following: Encourage people to fight before surrendering. By fighting, as the person surrendering, you get gold and XP for doing damage and sticking it out. Reward the victor, even when, after a bit of a fight, their opponent surrenders. Right now, I can fight to the last minute, and then surrender to deny you the extra XP/Gold. This happens often, and it should not penalize the person winning the battle. Prevent exploiting in that you can't just start a fight and immediately surrender to grant your opponent full kill XP/Gold without really incurring any costs. The time must be taken to damage the opponent to "earn" the percentage of gold/XP you're getting from the fight - meaning there is no "advantage" to an immediate surrender.
  7. Allow surrender at any time. When you surrender, a percentage of the kill XP/Gold is granted to the person with kill/assist credit based on damage (e.g. an entire side down = 60% of total kill XP/Gold, two entire sides down, 80% - tweak percentages as needed). When you surrender, if you're sinking/on fire, just enough planking XP is granted to prevent the ship from sinking - all fires are immediately extinguished to allow victors the opportunity to capture your ship. That's all that's needed IMO. I agree that if you take away XP/Gold from the surrendering ship, people won't care to fight at all - they'll just surrender right off. Removing permanent upgrades, etc. because you surrendered will discourage people from fighting at all. Don't make it harder/more expensive to fight, just make it more rewarding to force a ship to strike to you. In reality, you wanted a ship to strike - it meant you could take control of that ship and get the credit with your government for it. Similarly, striking to a superior force was also encouraged - a dead crew and officers didn't help anyone, and no crew was willing to fight to the death.
  8. Up to date as well. I've really enjoyed the entire series.
  9. I'd try Chrome or Firefox. There's a reason Edge's marketshare is tanking.
  10. The problem is farming and abuse if you give full credit without some other offset. The advantage to basing it on damage inflicted is that someone still has to repair the damage for the other person to get the reward.
  11. I have advocated for surrender to produce a % of the kill XP/gold that would have been awarded had they fought to the end. The percentage would go up as more damage was done to their ship. So surrendering very late in the battle would generate a high % of what the enemy would have gotten in XP/Gold, and surrendering very early would give almost nothing.
  12. This is scheduled for a hotfix, enjoy it while it lasts.
  13. Thank you Mr. Blackthorne for posting a good feedback thread for this complaint.
  14. Actually you can. If you press F11 while in Map, and then press M to close map, the ticket window will be there with a picture of the map attached. Please submit an F11 as soon as possible. Thank you!
  15. There is a settings file for the game, but I can't quite recall where it is just now. Deleting that file will cause the game to reset to defaults and fix your issue.
  16. Why are you so angry? Please provide your feedback in a respectful and positive manner.
  17. There is an extremely long thread about port time zones, let's keep such discussion to that thread please and move on to calling each other cads and rakes and threatening total annihilation. This....is.....SPARTA NATIONAL NEWS!!!!!!!
  18. You may need to try different drivers. When something like this happens, it's most often a conflict between the drivers and hardware.
  19. I've warned in the past for this kind of talk, don't make me start warning again. All servers are available for all players, regardless of time zone. Insisting that players play on a particular server is out of line. Move on please. Server locations are provided as a service, they in no way indicate who is allowed on what server. Thank you.
  20. The Wikia site is the old Wiki which was also run by Olav. The other one, who knows!
  21. Quite a few of us have real world sailing experience. A few even have real world square rig experience in historical vessels. Bungee has addressed quite a few of your concerns correctly. I'll add that fore/aft rig performance is definitely not great, however, adjustments to that sailing model haven't come to the top of the list yet. Thank you for your feedback.
  22. Sir, please don't post your UserID here. I'm not sure if it is important or not, but it's best not to show these things. Just in case something can be done, please post the exact name of your character - is it Sotileza? Thanks.
