I'd like to see the Kronan (Not in the pole D:), Götheborg or Wasa(Vasa) make the cut, just for some variety and im a Sweden fan.

If it happens to be the Vasa, lets pretend someone relized that putting a bigger ballast weight in it would have probibly saved them a whole lot of trouble.

The Wasa in this poll is not the famous one which sank.

Although she needs to be in the game some day, I decided to remove my vote for Temeraire 74 and replace it with Indefatigable under the assumption that she would be developed both as a 64 and a razee. If that is not the case, I will change my vote again! ;)

Keep in mind in the end there will only be PvP and no light version (I think). The Snow is limited to 6lbers but even with the same size guns the Rattlesnake will play quite differently due to it's much higher speed. It would also be a great island hopping ship for quick errands while still packing a punch.

    Leading Candidate HMS Indefatigable (1784)

as 44-gun heavy frigate.

as 3rd rate

Did people intend to vote for the frigate or SOL? Should the ship have been split into the frigate section or will the developers make both models?

Indefatigable imho should be in game only in her razeed configuration

What could be done is built up the hull in 64 gun configuration (for her sistership Agamemnon, 5th in poll), and also do a version cut down as the razee Indefatigable. Maybe save a bit of time if they were to both be built.

Re the discussion on Rattlesnake...

She is rather fine in hullform, 89ft 3in long on deck and 22ft 4in in beam (giving a ratio of 3.99, compared to about 3.70 for a typical frigate). At the same time, those are very small overall dimensions, her resemblance to larger ships is decieving. The Snow (HMS Ontario) is 80ft long and 25ft in beam, and the generic Brig looks to be about 95ft by 30ft, so between them in length but narrower than either.

Given her extremely narrow beam and that this is the biggest limiting factor in armament, Rattlesnake was probably armed with 4 pdrs. Not impossible to have 6 pdrs but they would have been very cramped and difficult to reload, you'd be leaning out the gunport with the rammer because there isn't enough room to run the gun all the way in.

Speed is better news though. Although her small size will mean the top speed (achieved in above average wind strength) might only be something like 11-12kts (compared to 13+ for Trincomalee), as wind speed drops she will lose less speed and will start to match outrun even the quicker frigates.
