  1. Wondering how a PvP1 nations meeting on a teamspeak turned into an argument on how PvP2 Pirates are not allowed on it? I'm confused how this works...unless PvP2 diplos were invited as well? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speaking as an independent player who just likes to enjoy PvP and Port battles whenever I get on. It's ironic that the same folks who want to PvP and do Port battles created lines for others and tell them "do not cross, or we will obliterate you." Besides that, the port battles I've seen and heard about on PvP2 always seem to be relatively even, afaik one side was always outnumber by a little bit, I don't see anything wrong with this. Heck, even when you're on the side that is outnumbered, there are so little Port Battles happening throughout the week that I'd rather go in the port battle and lose a ship and a port, then go into a port battle and absolutely nothing happen. I really don't care when a nation or people decide to do a port battle, but if there is ever a port battle in the time frame that I get on to play, I absolutely want to be there and sink or get sunk. I hesitate to ask if we can all agree on this? We should realize by now that we have nations that have different "Prime-times" and maybe the good thing to do here is fight a nation that has the same timezone as you, no matter whether you were friendly or enemies before....wouldn't that be more enjoyable that way? Again, I log in, and this has been my more recent schedule 1. log in and see if a port battle is scheduled 2. if so, go to it at "that time." if not, ask if there are plans to increase hostility somewhere. 3. if nothing, then sail a bit to make an outpost or maybe find an area that "should" have people 4. after an hour or so if nothing happens I sign off I literally only use labor hours to make contracts and I barely trade now (a side effect of having a lot of money and more ships I can shake a stick at I suppose). As a player now in the Dutch nation, I'm kinda saddened that they want to ally the Brits again, because overall the Brit players seem to be in the same timezone as most Dutch players. Aside from Badbenny and 2-3 other players in Sweden that seem to constantly want to harass the Dutch, the Danes and the main Chinese clan have stated they don't plan to go any further south than Leeward Island and all the folks in the Antilles want to help the French get their foot back on the ground sooooooo - where's the action?
  2. As far as I'm concerned. 1. I don't plan on shooting French players unless I'm shot first. To which then I only will go after "that" player 2. the territory the Dutch own in the south seems to be just suitable, so I personally don't see a reason to march on north towards Dane/Swede waters anymore. In most cases the Dutch attacks have been in response of Badbenny and his bunch creating chaos as usual. I don't think this will ever be resolved. 3. I think what's becoming an issue is that there seems to be absolutely no agreement on which regions can be "swapped" or "contested" over because one of the nations always considers it vital or important to have. I seriously think we need to drop the "Zerg nations are ruining the server" act. It is not the sole reason of a server being ruined, but instead a series of patches and additions, if you can call them additions, that changed the game to such a point that had a lot of players leave and have yet to come back and play...if they ever decide to do. Honestly? The PvP2 server, apart from France and Spain, has a healthy population in each nation for the amount of players who play throughout the day. Some nations are just going to have more territory than others. If you want port battles, you have to force an issue or war, to which apparently a lot of side-show nations just love to hop in and tell the rest of us how "game killing" this is. I mean for christ sake guys, have you been out there in the Antilles when there isn't a port battle? There is practically nothing to do there, and no one to hit. The game is currently structured in such a way that you have to "find" people in a mission, to which you can't really find easily. Then a port battle time spawns and everyone waits until then. Why waste 2 to 4 hours searching open waters and likely get no action, when you can guaranteed action, whether it's lopsided or not, at a port battle at a specific time. All this sperging is getting extremely dull and since the beginning of port battles with flag conquest it's always ALWAYS been the same thing. Danes/Swede vs Dutch/US - This is one of the more even conflicts I've seen. The only catch is that both sides have their large numbers operating in a different timezone. So either way there will almost always be a lopsided number. France - gets stuck in the middle, if it was my choice, They would have Basse Terre and Point a Prite back without conflict, but I'm not the decision maker and the Swedes currently control them. Pirates - seem to have this complex relationship where any nation that does anything, seems to personally affect Pirates to such a point that they become insulted at everything. Can't you Pirate bros just do your privateering in peace? it's like you think you're the server police or something. US/Brit - I wish they'd fight each other. But every time they do, someone always goes to "third party" the war, which ends up enticing the US and Brits to ally again because of the outside menace. First step towards Server stability? Time to stop accusing everyone else is ruining the game for others. I have and had good friends in the Pirate nation, but the Pirate nation isn't the angel here, and neither are any of the other nations. Misinformation is said all the time because, as someone else put it, the rate at which each nation has a new "leader" is too fast for any political situation to come to the table before someone gets hurt or mad and then we all go back to pointing fingers. Wanting peace and spliting regions up to who gets what is dumb, there must be conflict I say, because conflict means we get to use all the ships we own. We really need some type of agreement from all nations that War IS OK, that pushing a nation to their home region IS OK. That once that nation has been pushed back, they get some regions back and a certain amount of time to rebuild. SOME SYSTEM, any god damn system to create some order so that nations can say they won "wars" and ALSO give the nations that lost a war time to rebuild to try again. I am entirely open to talking to anyone who would like at least some form of agreement from most "heads" of all nations that think the same way. Will it happen? I don't know, history shows it won't here.
  3. Here is my Experience, and Axel can attest to this as both of us are ex-Swede. Where ever Badbenny goes, sorrow awaits the nation he chooses. When he leaves Sweden, which he may never do. I'll go back, but I can't be near that hate spurging, slur yelling human being. When it comes to France, they just need an active playerbase again, or rather, a playerbase that all thinks alike and communicates, ever since PURGE, LMN, and OMG left or went to PvP 1, France has never been the same. When it comes to the Dutch, they had a small playerbase. Pirates complained about how the US and Brits were zerging everyone. So a US clan decides to join the Dutch. Low and behold, apparently the Dutch are now a Zerg force. Wow.
  4. I'm surprised anyone would side with Badbenny, especially the Danes and Pirates after all the shit talking he did in global everyday way back when. He must be truly desparate.
  5. So how about this: For someone to do the best that they can to be objective and not biased - What is the political situation on PvP2? Who's allied to who? As an old bittervet I would like to know.
  6. I like the idea of flags being used to fight "mini port battles" but honestly the time window system was a complete and utter failure. It no doubt helped the defenders which was it's intention. but then a lot of nations at the time chose the quietest "dead" time zone and no one could take ports, or at least a nation without that timezone was pretty much doomed to never expand again. the Hostility system is better, but it's only better when there are more players and that a "mission" to find enemy hostile players stays open....but being how difficult it is to actually find the swords in the open world, it's laughable to even attempt to lower hostility by hunting.
  7. a couple of us already re-rolled Dutch. I'll hop in to check the scene every now and then but I don't know, is it worth playing still? do fights actually happen, or do we still have the "hide in battle for as long as possible" mechanic?
  8. Not playing anymore, those that still do went to PvP1, others are waiting for full release to see if the game is still worth playing.
  9. The amount of Labor Hours you have to use to Craft them is insane. Granted I haven't checked them after the recent hotfix, but if a player, a clan, or a nation make the effort to make a ton of war supplies, they should be rewarded for that effort. The amount of labor hours is essentially saying "I am not building ships for myself or others in order to get hostility." Now I too think that War Supplies should be limited in how much hostility it can throw into a region, but they are an incredible labor hour sink that can't be ignored.
  10. Yep, I cannot agree more. Currently, at least for the very competitive guilds, it's gold 3/5s or you're in an inferior ship. 2/4, 3/4, or 2/5 are just unacceptable in their eyes. And don't get me started if it's not gold. This will add soooooo much more to choosing what you give a ship and what it loses.
  11. I really think this change is going in the right direction for Crafting. I support the Admin's suggestions here.
  12. This would go a long way towards having allies actually be helpful when doing joint efforts in a region. Only issue I see that would need to be fleshed out is the "who should be the leader." Should the mission "creator" be who determines which nation gains the hostility? Should the original player creating the tag against an enemy be the nation who gains or loses hostility?
  13. Honestly people have to stop with the notion at this time thinking Pirates "pirate." Start treating the Pirate Nation in this game as a serious Nation, it's just ridiculous to assume pirates will be rogue, independent privateers. SOME players who play pirate privateer and play like a real pirate. The same as SOME nation players play like a real nation would. Change the mindset, Pirates in this game are a nation like any other choice in this game (currently).
  14. I've seen the pictures, their navy is not bigger then the US, they just sail in 1st rates all the time. Most of the pictures I hae seen have only been after a lot of US leave the battle, leaving a couple to be battered by their "1st rate gank squad." Honestly, if most of you are in 5th rates or above and you have double their number, the amount of punishment you could deal against BLACK's fleet is insane. Granted I have not seen a picture where the Pirates outnumber the US, so I would like to be provided proof to be corrected on this assumption.
  15. I originally voted no but after reading some feedback from other players I changed my vote to a yes. Some things should certainly be difficult to gain in a game, like bermuda cedar, but it should not be punishing. It would certainly help all parties and nations have an option to contest the region.
  16. Mortimer is the worst port ever, I went near there and got jumped by 20 pirates in a Gank. I can never go there again. Some ports have it bad, but I think your reasoning is flawed as to why it's bad....Nonetheless I agree with you, Key West seemed to still be the better choice as a free port.
  17. Are there any plans to make the "Epic Events" Give out epic loot, or create an incentive to do them? Currently they are just battle instances with a large amount of fleet and no reward apart from what you'd already get in a Mission.
  18. This patch honestly destroyed our enthusiasm to play, at least for BORK. We don't login daily and we just don't have the time it takes to create aggression to take regions. It's too much of a time-sink for some of our players. EDIT: There are, I believe, 2 other groups in Sweden though who are actively trying to take some regions and fight.
  19. I think a problem is starting to happen again. This thread, from my standpoint, is asking that at the Reset, we also reset our feelings for the most part. I know that we all may have in some form or another created conflict that then drove the entire diplomacy of that nation or group for the rest of the "game." What I think we should do is with this Reset, we should all take a seat and have a couple breaths. Every nation is going to attack ports next to them to gain that "influence" around their capital again. Those who were enemies could become friends, or at the very least we should all reconsider "hurt feelings." No doubt I see the US and British will likely attack the Pirates again, but instead of fighting them because of Past conflicts, how about forget those conflicts that fueled past hatred and start anew. I don't think people will change their minds though, even with games that have servers that "restart" every X months, you always see the same groups fighting the same enemy. Hopefully we can forgive past grievances to a degree and maybe create new relationships. It's always been an issue in my view for the PvP2 server, PvP1 players seem to be able to make amends (or at least publicly) and eventually change their diplomatic views, whereas PvP2 player/groups always seem to have a grudge similar to a dwarf's memory against folks who sunk them or started fighting them. I'm seeing it all over again with the same British nationals versus the BLACK pirates tl;dr the plate is clean and the map reset, lets make new enemies and friends, not bring past conflicts all over again, but I don't have my hopes up.
  20. I'd be all game with this. Even before we can keep it at the 5 port minimum. With the resource map changing on top of port reset (at least stated), it'll be very interesting. I just have a big feeling that there will be groups of players who won't follow it no matter what. IF you've experienced a war to only your capital left a lot of people gain resentment against the opposition and wish for them to be at one port as well.
  21. In terms of communication and developing the game, I think the Devs have done a wonderful job. There are parts when communication seems to be lacking, but it has always been fixed eventually. I love the game, just as Sir Texas Sir says, the waiting is killing me to the point where I just log in for econ now. In fact almost everyone I know and sail with has been doing the same. So we all are eagerly awaiting the next patch to test new things and enjoy a "new" game.
  22. Everyday I check to see if any new players are playing Sweden, because with a small nation with low pop it's imperative to help any new player get into the groove. they don't even need to join my clan, if they find a group they like that's awesome, it's just having them learn the ropes and feeling welcome as soon as they hit the water. Sweden is not like the US or British in the sense that it's easy to find a safe place to try stuff out or learn things, Sweden is right in the thick of opposing nations and players can get smacked into PvP really quick...so it's important to start having the conversation to make everyone feel they are welcome and have a community (even if small) that is there to help.
