  1. What a beautiful fight. Wish I was there
  2. Undercrewed cerberus's, even if that's less than satisfactory, are a good option for the newer players to get into. I believe level 4 is 150, which is perfect. I know that's not optimal but due to how shallow water ports are hard to come by in the antilles, it's one if the best options. Cerbs are cheap and have 5 durability, fast and if sailed well they could be a real thorn by stern raking/camping.
  3. I've literally witnessed this: A couple opposing nations players doing missions in a region to increase hostility. Their mission is found and we have a squad to attack and sink them. So what was the call? To ignore the mission, ignore the player, and instead do a "defensive" mission to lower the hostility. No attempt at all to try and sink or drive the opposing player away. It baffles me how crazy that is to hear the same people sate they want PvP, but apparently not that type of PvP. I am actually really happy the French nation is slowly growing again, I hope they find their footing and will be able to be independent in the near future! I have always personally respected the Chinese clan in the Danish nation, even when we had disagreements in our conversations, they were always polite. More fighting is better for everyone. I've seen faces and names I haven't seen for months and I've even got a couple folks saying they may come back to play if the port battles and fights continue to heat up. So keep this up please, we need more "Fire" around the map and if that means becoming the bad guy, so be it, for the good of the server become the new bad guys gents.
  4. I am a firm believer that the recent flare up in pvping and port battles is bringing folks back. This is what we need, I've said it multiple times that no matter what dumb arguments we have, for the good of the server we should just pvp with as many players we can, it only gets better this way. As Juan said, look up Lord Roberts and that "era" of naval action when we had 600-800 folks online at us prime time. Pvp was a plenty but there could gave been so much more if players fought instead of hide in ports
  5. Can I just say how happy I am to see you again? <3
  6. Pretty much this. I went to pvp1 from pvp2 with a group of folks and joined the spanish nation. While a few players in that nation wrre friendly and helpful, most viewed us with distrust and unwilling to help us help them. That never really "healed" and in the end some of us moved to the US nation while others went pirate. This may b ejust ancedotal evidence but this is the main reason for my friends and I to not be on your side in this alliance. Now to be fair I am currently in the swedish nation and by far it has been the most enjoyable run. The EU folks are welcoming and they have a nice group in the US tomezone that I can be with. What I'm getting here is that a lot of people that the dane/sp/swe/fr alliance work with seem to just want their community and anyone who isn't is not wanted. Which from my view, is one the reasons you're in the current situation. This is a global server and until the developers make a decision about it, find a solution that doesn't alienate a geographical group outside the EU primetime. Because the server isn't a european server no matter how many times you try and scream it.
  7. I must agree with slamz, and the current trade map ui in the map is really a bandaid to a bigger issue. I enjoyed it much more when the ports showed what the produced and consumed. While it was simpler and not that realistic, you knew where to go and what to sell there. Now you have to spend time finding the right route. .of which it may change the next day and I'm just not inclined to use all that time to just find a route. NA for me right now is that anything outside of combat takes a long time, and it wouldn't be bad except for the fact that it's also incredibly boring to do.
  8. I believe if the servers were to merge, the combined hostility and lord protector/time window would be the best outcome. (assuming any mechanic added will be "abused") It may have been cancer for some folks with midnight time windows or out of your prime time, but I'd rather have someone tell me how my lord protector put the defense timer at a bad time for them for "anti-PvP" then to be told my whole prime time should be evicted from the server because "how dare you take ports when we sleep."
  9. Thank you for the info. Well good to know then haha
  10. For clarification, which group/nation are you part of? Who's doing what? Would be nice information to know about
  11. Glad to hear that the french are gaining a couple players. I may try and entice some folks to play again who were part of the french nation way back when, but no promises. I don't mean to sour the growth of france, but careful who you trust. I'm not sure how it is right now but for a while the french nation was controlled by alts vote manipulating...course with no clear evidence, it's all hearsay.
  12. I am currently on the Swedish nation on PvP1, I'll join in on the fun, just hit me up! US east coast here. Are you going to stop joining PBs because some other players told you not to go? I think that's utterly ridiculous and no one should tell you how to play the game you love and enjoy.
  13. I mean at this point. We may as well go back to Lord protectors and Port windows. it would stop the supposed "nightflips" and then we would have another thing to complain about "midnight port windows"
  14. I Can't believe we are back to this. The Admins stated MULTIPLE TIMES that the name of the server means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about whether it's a US or EU Server. Holy mother of god some people are just piss poor in their memory. Both servers have the SAME DOWNTIME, both servers have the SAME MECHANICS. You'd be surprised to know that even on PvP2 server, their are "nightflips" between the US and Aussies because they live in different timezones. How about that? This is just the funniest thing I've seen from the EU playerbase, way to go, bravo. When you couldn't find a solution, you cried in a corner and told everyone else to leave. This. Is. Hilarious.
  15. There is something to be said that we should engage in conversation more and I agree. I know myself and Axel just want to enjoy the game in the end. Gone are the days of all our other friends who sailed with us in the past, it's hard to re-do that sort of commitment now. Anyway, as long as there are Port Battles to join to sink some seafaring folks, I'll be there. I barely have any gold anymore, just some leftover ships.
  16. Both Axel and I play multiple different games and are on multiple different teamspeaks at the same time, we both sit in the afk channels waiting for pokes or pings for action or a port battle or whatever is going down. because otherwise there really isn't anything to do. so far how its worked was when I wasn't on TS, i didn't hear about anything happening. as I said before, the Paranoia is just outrageous for a game like this. I won't defend axel on his anti nation chatter as he just does that all the time and it is silly. EDIT: I'll clarify that in the end it's just two bitter vetted fools who have played this game since it's beginning, or nearly it's beginning and are tired or all the hilarity that goes on.
  17. what's funny is that part of the players in the Dutch nation hate Axel for no reason *shrugs*. should've heard it on teamspeak, they wanted him kicked from channel lol.
  18. I'll leave Pirates out of it at the moment but as for the Nations, if you discounted the Brits, I'd say the 2 sides are fairly even. if the Brits and US fought each other, I think they would enjoy the fights, I just think no one else would honor that fight and instead try to take advantage of them fighting by taking land. The real crux is all you folks are way to bitter about each other to do anything. a player may take an action like capturing an enemy player from a different nation. Suddenly that player is hated by a whole faction for doing something ENTIRELY allowed in the game. Too many people are just too salty about everything on PvP2, and from my standpoint, that is why nothing is going to change until both sides cut the bullcrap out. the Port Battle was fun, even though no one sank and only really some damage on a few ships, people logged in to have a good time. Why can't we just...idk... encourage that side of the Naval Action we want instead of being complete and utter pussies about everything.
  19. Want to add to these points that I honestly think our side as well got folks out of the woodwork to join the PB. I mean Axel and myself were pretty much notified last minute to get our butts online and sail over. Win or lose, the Port Battles are the only guaranteed action we are going to get on PvP2 server, and past all the salt and annoyances people have AND the fact no one sank, it was enjoyable to do something in NA for once. Really though, both sides had similar forces within the PB and outside screening. I assume there was a lot of coordinating and pushing for folks who don't play often to be on at this time on both sides. It shows that we all can actually bring forth the numbers. Some people may just be more active then others.
  20. The lines are starting to gray and become thin I think. lmao
  21. Overall the game was more enjoyable when there wasn't an alliance system Sure it sucked that some people wouldn't follow the majority of a nation, or a few folks would go about as they please...but that was the beauty of it, and it was readily assumed that there were always folks in your nation who would do what they want whether you created an "alliance" or not with another nation in those times. The only downside was not being able to join a Port Battle with your friends because there was no alliance system, and even then it wasn't that bad. So I'd prefer no alliance...and if we do need alliances, only 1 ally at a time. Going further with Leku, I agree we should have neutral status added.
  22. I honestly agree with you here, but I think everyone is starting to see or already know the problem here. The point is now to find a way to improve or fix it WITHOUT alienating a portion of the player base and also making the foundation so that the new system works with large population servers too. Here lies the problem, and hopefully people are starting to realize how difficult it is to find a good solution :P. I've brought up Eve Online waaaaay back in the past but they do have a time window system in the game, but the time window "length" is determined by how much you "use" the system or area you live in. not sure how to put it in NA terms but it would be like a 2 hour window in the regions next to the US capital, but as you go further away from your "homeland" the regions are used by less folks, and so the Time window for the port gets bigger - ultimately giving a better oppurtunity for others to come in and take regions that aren't "used" often.
  23. So a crazy option, would all nations changing their alliance structure change help the server in the short term? I am listening to the meeting and it was never brought up. EDIT: to clarify, I only listened to Jeheil's recording
  24. to me, it's less about the historical facts that Pirates were this or Pirates were that. It's about the players saying they absolutely want to PvP and fight and when a nation comes around and says "We want to fight you" (in a role playing manner) some, NOT ALL, some pirates come and get incredibly salty immediately about it. All I ask is these folks stop talking so much shit about who's justification is correct or how you shouldn't or should fight or for revenge and instead enjoy the fact that you get to sink more players and fight in more Port battles? And I'm not point fingers at only one side, it's all the nations, including the pirates (although Danes are an exception) that for some reason, seem to really despise fighting. This is merely another example that I see the Pirates say "How dare you fight us when we are already outnumbered," but for all the past threads and posts, they always, always enjoy showing how they beat everyone consistently while outnumbered and they show it through pictures. We can't deny the Pirates, most notably the BLACK clan, are REALLY good players, they are arguably better then any other player on the PvP2 server. I just wish some would stop complaining and enjoy the fact that they get to fight when they get online. Because I get on for 1-2 hours and I talked about it before, apart from swede ports, there was nothing to fight THAT would get players to defend at the same time. So when I see this "war dec" from Dutch to Pirate I see "great content is coming and we have more players to fight."
  25. So yeah, this is the problem. Dutch decide to fight Pirates and the Pirates essentially say "You have no right for your justification, if anything, we should be killing you. How dare you fight us." When instead everyone should be saying "Hell yeah, time to sink more people." FFS everyone should keep their salty shit to a minimum.
