  1. Let me know how that goes for you in PvP or a 4 on 1 PvE
  2. Once you hit the bigger ships looting becomes...how can I put this...a pain in the bot-bot. The enemy ship stops dead...you are doing say 6-7 knots...and then you need to turn a circle...to what is most likely then going to be a sunk ship. Pesky one-on-one....suicide in a x on x. So once you hit a 4th rate or above, I suggest, we get a LOOT launch. Use the mini-map. Pick the wreck and engage THE LOOT LAUNCH. It takes 2 mins to get there and 2 mins to get back, one day we can have little fellas in a boat heading out. Huzzah.
  3. The Global server currently has a small but regular population, the Brits are oversized compared to the rest, thus being at war with a couple or three of the other nations is probably the best way to have fun. War will be brutal as with such small pops ship building and top end fleet maintenance will be a real thing....a nation could easily lose its primary fleets in a calamtous event and then be pushed back. It may not be the 400 captains of yore all at sea, but it will be fun. Each battle will carry greater risk and rewards. Huzzah... "Only the dead know the true nature of war" - Plato (about the same time Bobzilla was born)
  4. ARMED, AUSEZ are the main Australian TZ clans
  5. At this point in time, we all wore skirts until we were old enough for a Breeching https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breeching_(boys)
  6. Spain an empty state (bar the pitiful Dave) has by all accounts been seconded by a new breed of wanton, warlike independent types. I look forward to seeing her flag fly again.
  7. US, Brits, Pirates and Dutch pretty much complete their opening 'claims'. The Danes marmalise the French and Dave is left a quivering in the corner. All this and more in this weeks L2tK
  8. Borders clash, the US hit the pirates in the Bahamas and the Danes show off a very impressive fleet in biffing the French. Meanwhile the Brits and Dutch push their borders out. All this and more in this week A Letter to the King.
  9. That would be the one Midnight...and WOW nice fleet Danes.....
  10. Would love to know what happened in the Upper Windward Isles between France and Denmark ?
  11. This weeks episode is running 24 hours late due to some excellent excuses : 1) In Australia we celebrate the Queens Birthday and have a day off (God bless ya ma'am) 2) As it happens the Queens Birthday is the same as mine (God bless me ma'am) 3) My kids being wonderfully raised (mostly in Everquest, World of Warcraft and other games I could make them fish in) took their aging and failing dad to the pub and got him drunk 4) Severalteen hours later, making Letter to the King as you are giving birth to a hangover proved beyond me. 5) So tonight after cake and presents I shall make this weeks ep !
  12. Great post OP. It should also be noted that the vast incomes are to some extent given to the early worm, once a trade route becomes known it becomes harder to maximise as others eat the stock and deflate the target sell price. Profit margins in the first week were better than in the second. Equally, effort/risk is rewarded, there are still some big profit runs, but you either need to setup the requisite outposts, sail a while or buy ships and risk em to benefit. Overall it works. It is a little weak on the 'dynamic' side and I would really like to see Port Conquest and Raids EFFECT market prices (a bit like Elite...a stressed port will have a higher demand for some items over others and the opposite of course). In a time of war luxury items take a back seat to necessities.
  13. I honestly think we need this EU v Global (the server that never sleeps) melarkie a rest. I respect the fact some folks want windowed biff and some folks want open biff. Leave it there and lets help and PROMOTE both communities. Having lived in several countries over my life, I have learned we are all pretty much the same, have pretty much the same amount of idiots, clever folks, beautiful folks and ugly gits. We all hate our banks, pollies and parking meters. I see no advantage in players, mods or dev's pushing one over the other. I am sure players will move between the servers for various reasons, some try and play on both and some get annoyed with both
  14. Let em both grow, pray for the day we are complaining about too many players and need another server.
  15. Brits, Danes, French, US and the Dutch start to push their borders and oust noisy neighbours, the Pirates score the first win in a full blood port battle and much more in this weeks L2tK
  16. http://104.193.237.30/na/index.php?page=crafting&idx=1
  17. A post wipe REDUX on how to make money, Jeheil looks at 4 or 5 different ways you can make money in the new wipe-aggednon world of Naval Action,
  18. Wipus Completus - A new era (error) begins, HUZZAH were back in the water and the Biffo is HARDCORE, enjoy Jeheils over-excitied report in this weeks Letter to the King.
  19. To encourage more people onto the open world both in defence and in aggression, perhaps an idea might, once a port battle has commenced, those not in the battle, who have generated lots of hostility points could be rewarded. You know more than 1,000 pts ??PvE Marks?? or Money or some such. That way those hard working chaps who put in the yards but dont make the PB aren't left with nothing (but pride...which doesn't feed the children)
  20. Trading is the way early on, even if you do small trades on the way to and from a mission, once you get a reasonable amount it snowballs, then you can build a building, find something you can farm and sell for more only a few ports away to limit time and risk, then you have a daily income. There is risk I already lost a ship to pirate sumbags (I mean well done sir). Obviously if you have the taste for it, go hunting other players and take their #@$@ but that has a much higher risk. I try to keep a reserve of "a new ship" and cannons on hand as my "insurance" against calamity. Oh and this more a MULTIPLAYER GAME THAN EVER. BUDDY UP or better CLAN UP. It can be quite scary. But thats the fun isnt it.
  21. I could only like once @admin so posting again to say LIKE
  22. This for me ALOT, I would be on Euro if I could RvR but 2AM to 8AM is impossible, not being able to RvR on Global till 10pm is a kick in the nuts. Hostility is my priority FIX as these 6 fleets you talk about, we have two groups sailing around and rarely hit anything more than a rattler a traders underpants with the odd 700BR fleet. Its so draining especially early game where Repair kits are so hard to come by Here is 2 hours worth of timings along a stretch of 5 Enemy Ports 3 small <100BR NON-RIGHT NATION fleets 1 720BR RIGHT NATION FLEET 1 520BR RIGHT NATION FLEET mixed fleet in the same ships as us...that outran us ALOT ??? 1 900BR RIGHT NATION FLEET that we could tag as it was amphibious 3 < 130BR RIGHT NATION FLEET At this rate it would take about 70 hours to raise hostilty. If at the VERY LEAST you could get rid of decay until you have a solution in place !!!
  23. Global is where some of us are, due to the window for Port Battles, there are significantly more players on Euro in general but in our TZ its about the same (as of a massive one day since wipes)
  24. In a world first Jeheil has very little to say this week....so a very short ep. as we continue to hold fast in the doldrums as we await the wipe.
