  1. cheers, this should alleviate things greatly. Do you see our problem though ? where are PB's are set based not on a time of our choosing ?

OK, now maybe the queue problem is so bad now that I have forgot how it used to work...however I was pretty sure that when your PB came off the "100%" waiting list and became a PB it did so AT THE TIME YOU FLIPPED IT. Not at the time the first port on the list of THREE concluded. So : We flip Grindstone at (I will use our local times) 11pm our time, coz we want to do the PB at 9pm. However the queue is full (it always will be) so we sit at 100% unscheduled. Then at 4AM our time some Euro based brits do a PB and win Huzzah. They conclude their PB at 4.46am. So our PB is now set TWENTY TWO HOURS after this TIME...and not the time we flipped it at !! Thus we can NEVER set a PB at a TZ of out choosing. You mention you are changing the port battle limits, is there a ling for that somewhere ?
  3. Ours are still wrong today. As far as I can tell the time your PB gets set (if you are in the queue) is NOTHING to do with when you flip it @ink @admin but is instead 22 hours from when the 3rd port battle on the list CONCLUDES (ie the time of one of the precious 3 slots +22 hours at the time PB concludes). Anyway, its completely dysfunctional for anyone caught in the same predicament we are. On the first day of the new patch there was about a 5 hour period where the server was broke, we all went to bed (1.30am) woke up...to what will be full queues forever, thus we can never set a PB against AI !!!!! at a time of our choosing. Honestly guys this is utterly stupid. Closest I have been to pulling up stumps on this.
  4. Good to hear Vizz, for us we have had 2 wiped, 2 set at 2.15....and...well lets see how today goes....very @$@##$@$# frustrating. Oh yeh and for shits and giggles the port went from 4th rate to lineship after we flipped it (for our 215am PB ~~)

  6. This might be it. I will write down times pre shutdown on this one.

Well the issue is still there @Ink, we setup Grindstone to be at 9pm our time (about 1 hour after a normal restart), instead of being at ?? 10.50 server time it is now showing as 15:16 which is 2.16 am for us !! It appears that if there are 3 already setup (there always has been for us, and there always will be, as the first night you didnt get the server workling till 1.30 am for us). So our ports go into the system as 100% and either get wiped by D/T OR they get set when a PB is done. It is this process that seems to be setting them at the wrong time (and not the time they were flipped). So really this week has been really messed up for us, 2 port battles wiped, 2 at 2am. And this is the first response from admin (much appreciated ink)....we are feeling very second class citizens. The queue system simply shouldn't apply to AI ports. Thats it. And by the way, the moment we get 3 ports stacked in our TZ and the whole process messes up the rest of your player base.,...youll get loads of complaints..
  8. Not looking good for us, PB is still at 2.12am...and 3 more PB's in the queue...thanks for errrr nothing !!
  9. Last night we flipped Bluefields, its sat at 100% coz there were already 3 brit port queued (this will always be the case and is sort of daft btw). We flipped it at about 10:50ish server time (about an hour or so after restart) so the port battle should be at 8:50ish server time...instead it has popped for 16:22. which is 3am for most of us ? Please remember we had this already setup the day before and you zero'd our hostility, so this is our 2nd attempt to setup a PB. Be nice if you could fix the time for us.
  10. FYI : We have had ~10 crashes while doing the hostility missions...this is made harsher by the time its taking to then send the crash report.
  11. Think its broke. Can't get into a ship, TP or look in store. I could for 5 mins...but now its as if the server don't exist anymore.

  13. Very supportive of this sort of thing while we await the next 'great patch'. Lets have at 'em.

  15. I am guessing bad ping is doubled against a player. If you are fighting AI it is a trip from your computer, to the server and back. If its against a player, its a threesome. So obviously better...I mean worse.
  16. I find the only two baddo things with a ping of ~230-300 is stern raking and boarding. Boarding can be the most deadly you or they do something in the last 500ms...and often you can't react or it doesn't register. You click while still in the last wee mo...but it just doesn't TAKE
  17. The Americans start to retake the Gulf of Mexico, the Swedes feast like carrion on French corpses and a great fun weekend playing with our Pirate Friends. All this and more in this weeks L2tK.
  18. No need to apologize Mr Reb all good man. I really enjoyed the lead up to the PB, a great fight, the PB itself, well done Pirate Gits, great play...and the afters....a full 3 course meal of PvP nom nom nom. The way it was played, the chat between foes...all good stuff. And Flipper, thanks to you and the Elite chaps showing up, we didn't get on the same com's (which was a major Brit-Failure)..lets not go over that here...but I watched you on at least 2 occasions save fellow brits from boarding and you handled your ship in combat really well. There were FOUR things that gave the pirates Victory IMO 1) And the most important, they played better than us, did a top job at rescuing, retiring and repairing badly damage ships, and transversely (which means they wear womens clothes) they did a great job of killing our wounded (me included). This is the MAIN reason they won. 2) We didn't bring a mortar brig (coz he didnt turn up) this cost us 280 easy points...that...btw...would have meant we would have won on about the hour mark. Now the forts "sort of" stopped working...but I have a theory on this...you'll need to watch tonights Letter to the King for that (teaser) 3) We weren't on the same comm's. Thats just bah...its hard to have any semblance of co-ordination when your comm's involve Teamspeak, Pokes, ingame chat and steam messages 4) Our real PB commander DC'd as his wombat infested, Kangaroo entrail based internet has gone bonkers since there was a hurricane in Honkers (HK) so we brought in a substitute PB commander who, and I have this on good authority, had been drinking for 8 solid hours...was still drunk...and was giving birth to hangover...while still awake !! These are all reasons and not excuses. The number one reason being the most important and deciding factor. However, we all had great fun and a great evening (Sunday Morning for the sceptics) of gaming....just as it should be. o7.
  19. RvR is DEAD....long live CLAN-WARS....the Dev's have announced a "whole new world" which will come with Unity5. In this weeks ep. I try to explain the changes and what they might mean.
  20. Well what a set of sweeping changes. I think and have read alot of the replies, that overall this looks well worth a try. Clearly the current mechanic isn't working. So lets huzzah the fact that big changes were needed and these are indeed big changes. I play with a Clan (as I have done in many MMO's) and as such making it a far more Clan based game is very attractive to me. If you are a solo player as long as you are not looking for RvR then this is perhaps acceptable, if not, then well you will need to find a like minded bunch tbh. I look forward to better hostility mechanics and perhaps the return of 'timers' or some equivalent that could facilitate, at least in the short term a server merge, vital in alpha while our numbers are meagre and seem to play in cycles. I am a little unclear as to how O/W will work and in general am a big fan of leaving missions open in general. All in all this looks good enough to give a go. Which all evidence would suggest the current model no longer is
  21. Jamaica is red again...and well thats about it RvR wise !!...however the Unity 5 server (testbed) is up with some nice yummy new ships to play with.

Will defo give this a go...but it would be really helpful in the future (of this or legends or whatever) to allow us to create the 'testbed' as a separate entry in steam (like lots of my other games do) so that I don't need to download a gigabob each time I want to go from one to the t'other. And yes I know I can do backups and manual overwrites...but ya know.... Some of us in 3rd world countries where our internet is made of wombat entrails and koala spit aren't big fans of downloading a gigabooble each time we invoke one game or the other.
