  1. Is it possible to only rename the old one into "USS President" or some other sister ship of the Constitution, maybe even "Acheron" so we have HMS Surprise's arch enemy? Also is there any ETA on when the Constitution classic will be available ( more than once ) or fully implemented? I really want to unlock the slots in PvP but having only one ship that I can't afford to lose doesn't help me very much in PvP...
  2. Definitely the blue in my opinion. It works much more harmonic with the many bright colours of the flags on the ship. Also I found this regarding use of colour in marketing: "Colour is powerful because it can change our mood – the mood of potential customers. If a website improves our state of mind, our relationship with a brand will deepen and the probability of a return will increase. Advertisers and designers are well aware of that. We are not guided entirely by logic when making purchases. We tend to be driven by less identifiable factors such as emotions. ... Violet, blue, turquoise, green, navy give a feeling of stability and quality. These shades are often placed as accompanying colours. Although they don’t attract attention they emphasise the content."
  3. I want this more than anything and dare to say, that the only people who are against this simply want free kills whenever they find some lone trader.
  4. So what is the deal with the Constitution classic? Do we have to unlock all slots again or will the model simply replace the old one and we keep the current ships and builds? Will normal Constitutions be wiped once the new is added instead? It is a bit confusing to be honest. @admin
  5. Seems to be the general consensus regarding the wapen to be honest... I couldn't find a single recording or screenshot of any PB or OW Battle, where one of the top players used the wapen to great effect... or rather used it at all. I also asked a few players I consider well above my skill tier and they all agree that it is rubbish. Your input was interesting, thank you.
  6. You mean to pull it out of the docks for a few seconds once in a blue moon and have a good wank about it? I mean it's not really variety when nobody wants to sail it, because it is useless.... except for maybe on the PvE server. I too would welcome more variety but only when every ship has its use or is competitive to some degree. I have never seen a really good PvP captain sail a Wapen for a serious battle, no matter RvR or OW PvP and quite frankly that's a shame... we just have too many obsolete or underperforming ships in game, that leave you with the illusion of variety when only a fraction is really viable.
  7. Just look at dat thicc rear. Be honest with yourself, these curves don't lie...
  8. Yeah, this is the only thing it has going for it sadly ( as far as I can tell ) and I am not sure it is enough to justify having it in the game... it has decent DPS too but too many low calibre guns that are hard to get on target up close and skilled players will know about the DPS potential and deny you the benefit of it anyways.
  9. I have been loving the visuals of this unique ship ever since they added it. The lavish decoration, colours and hull shape are simply excellent but in terms of performance it is rather lacking and maybe rightfully so, considering it is one of the oldest ships in the game. Is there any scenario were I would use this ship over others with some combination of woods and mods, any use for it at all or is it simply rubbish for PvP? @admin Will the Hamburg be buffed / rebalanced in the ship rebalance update?
  10. Kind of amusing coming to think of it... some 500 years ago people from one corner of the world butchered some of another like animals, taking their land and dignity as if it was their divine right thinking of their victims as nothing but savages and lesser humans. Then for example some 70 years ago it happened again and even tho the circumstances were different, the mindset was exactly the same but people remember and think of it differently. The winners write the history books after all, I guess.
  11. I would much rather have a very large collection of historically accurate flags with clans being able to choose one as their own, that their ports could fly aswell on some additional flag pole. I am not sure how to feel about actual custom flags.
  12. This is awesome. Excellent idea and execution.
  13. Kind of ironic when you consider that one of the most basic principles of evolution is that the stronger prevail and survive. The homo neanderthalensis lost the evolutionary battle against the homo sapiens and was probably partly incorporated into its gene pool. So basically the homo neanderthalensis was unable to continue to co-exist alongside the superior homo sapiens, unable to sufficiently compete. So this would logically make the players on the PvE server the true neanderthals in your amusing naming example - they are unable to compete in the "harsh" PvP environment. PvE server: Homo neanderthalensis PvP server: Homo sapiens This would make more sense, I guess? Rather odd but whatever floats your boat.
  14. Why? Officers already have access, so letting them craft from it isn't anything other than more efficient. They could of course add a "only crafting" permission or something...
  15. You are right, this is very distasteful and maybe action should be taken however... This has nothing to do with it and I wish people would stop complaining about the name change feature of the DLC. You could do the same by just deleting the character and creating a new or using an alt account. Every account has an ID, that the devs can see, so the name displayed in game does not matter for finding them. Prolific forger DLC is perfectly fine and I wish it will stay this way.
  16. This would probably the best as long as it will definitely not be OP. It is the only ship that is already in game but not available. Selling it as DLC to get more cash flowing for development seems most logical to me. Having it as super rare exclusive event reward is definitely not as beneficial for the game as selling it for 10-15$ to each player, not only making it available for everyone but also helping to fund development with it. The incentive for the top 3 players winning a tournament isn't keeping the game alive - the average joe / player is. Also Gunboat DLC when?
  17. I would rather like to see the pirate version to be honest since we already have a very similar in the game but the more flags the better!
  18. No, why would you assume this and why would someone need a second account on this forum to begin with?
  19. Any update or teasers on this? I am very excited for anything in terms of purely cosmetic DLCs.
  20. I have never seen anything interesting or contructive posted by the user you quoted. He simply is not worth your time. I am very thankful for you listening to the community to get feedback but don't forget that listening to the whinging of some people, who aren't and maybe never will be appreciative of your work, will not help you or the game progress faster - rather the opposite. I would adivse you to not waste your time with people that can't see and appreciate your talent or vision for the game. Your game is a masterpiece that is waiting to be finished and you hold the brush.
  21. @Sir Malachy Karrde After going through this whole thread I have to ask you this without any malicious intent whatsoever: Have you considered the possibility of this game just not being for you? The situation you and the opposite side described is pretty much NA in a nutshell and it won't be the last time it happened to you, if you keep playing. If you get this worked up about losing a worthless gank paper speedboat, imagine what losing a battle-worthy expensive warship would do to you, if you ever got to sailing one once you'd become more experienced. You'll have to fill a good portion of the tribunal section with your posts.
  22. Very true indeed but don't forget these games are instant action and aimed at younger adiences, while also not intended to be played for hundreds of hours like a good mmo game ( that NA could be ). I think that if all it took to make most people enjoy the game was endless fights then NA would have thousands of active players, because the combat model / mechanics ( except for the boarding ) is excellent and decent ships are easy to come by. However I do see a lot more potential in NA beyond some arcadey arena shooter and I hope the devs do too... I strongly believe with some meaningful content, finetuning and balance NA could be very successful for years to come and I think the devs have the right vision, we are just getting there very, very slowly which is somewhat understandable considering the size of their company. The only thing I dislike is how they have some people work on other games instead of focusing all resources into NA until there is a solid base to expand upon.
