  1. Likely won't be popular... but my suggestion is to not allow anyone to join the side with the higher BR... and If grouped to not allow you to join at all if the BR gets swung too far in the other extreme.. but then that might lead to frustration when players see alot of battles but can't join for these reasons...
  2. Right now we have the ppl losing in pvp complaining its not worth bothering for the pittance rewards for even trying and the winners wanting bigger rewards...
  3. One thing that I don't get is how a surprise that costs 60k is worth 8 pvp marks... assuming a pvp mark is worth 200k thats 1.6m plus gold, combat marks and exp...
  4. I don't see the problem with basic cutters in the shallow battles, I thought people were there for a fight not taking stuff of value from others....
  5. Let the new 'patrol' missions be the new hostility missions.... if a hostility mission is triggered against a port.... A) make it cost the attacker something like 500k, then trigger a pvp patrol type mission for the target port. Come up with an achievable target regardless of who joins the mission, and make every effort to make it non-exploitable... Attacker has to sink x number of ships, or BR... to trigger the pb, players have to choose a side and cannot choose the higher BR side in battle unless they are an attacker or defender of the PB(and must choose their own side). Any other players wishing to have fun in the patrol zone are forced to join lower br side or get lost and if no players show up, allow AI to be targetted or allow the pb to proceed aka defenders forfeit
  6. No you won't, if i am in the area at all it will be for the screen (nvm i won't be coming to the bahamas) I don't enjoy pb's, too busy avoiding being run into to be effective is my experience. I want to see a reason for these new patrols apart from 'just a fight' thats wot, nal, wows etc, it doesn't have a place in a game supposedly about conquest.
  7. Why not? have these outside all pb's for example.. The current mess is just a meaningless arena match, adding these outside pb's as part of the screen would in some degree increase the war effort and reward
  8. Ok the idea seems to have been proven somewhat... now lets integrate it into the 'war' aka RVR...
  9. People keep coming up with alot of ideas for rvr that reward the larger nation, this is gonna be a challenge when we have 11 nations when 2 have half the server pop and the other 9 split what's left
  10. Hmm another thought crossed my mind... Why not replace the new pvp patrol missions with PB screening battles. Instead of having the current patrol zones, have a zone appear at each scheduled PB... In port create missions for the PB for the nations involved and reward those players for their performance in the zone for a window of time around the pb, perhaps 30 mins before to 30 mins after. Perhaps this isn't the most newb friendly idea.. but if 'farming' is discouraged in some manner, perhaps by not allowing other nation players to collect rewards for killing players that do belong to the nations invloved in the pb...(inside the zone only, outside everyone is fair game) This would potentially see more players moving around the OW as well, and open world pvp...
  11. New players of course see and hear about the upcoming pb's and want to join. Well of course if they aren't an RA, can't sail a 1st rate, haven't been seen around, aren't a member of a friendly clan, didn't marry Hachi's sister, forgot to install ts, whatever (not picking on you Hachi) Of course they don't get to take part. The response comes back, oh you can screen, or get a clan and go flip a port... Well screening is important, though often it can be a real drag waiting... and offers no reward How do we get the new players 'involved' I imagine for many its a let down to realize you might be able to join in a few weeks once you level up and gain experience etc etc... How about screening slots for PB's, you enter the area (perhaps a circle same size as the reinf zone) a popup comes up asking if you wish to join the screening fleet. So long as you stay in the area (for at least half of the duration of the PB window) or get sunk, you get an 'honorable' mention in the Gazette or whatever. If a player gets on that list 5 times for the week, they get a reward perhaps a VM or PVP marks at the end of it. Now to make it a little more interesting an option could be to count the screening battle seperately from the PB. Example GB attacks a DK Port, GB loses the port battle BUT the GB screeners sink more BR than DK did in the screening battle. The GB screeners are rewarded but the DK screeners are not. Only challenge is how to handle players from other nations joining the fight... I see this potentially generating more pvp. Just ideas...
  12. This doesn't change the amount of repairs needed, though it likely increases the amount of repairs consumed. It only increases the amount you can carry without having to return to a port. One of the complaints is that there aren't repairs available, though you already know about that right with your 10k repair kits at Tumbado.
  13. Add repair chest: Repairs can only be moved from chest to cargo when in OW or Port Cannot be used directly from chest
  14. I'd trade upgrades for repairs... at least they are more important
  15. think he was also pissed because I guess he logged out in one part of the map and then logged back in to find himself somewhere completely different
  16. Ok... with the addition of books without a nice cute safe bookshelf that can freely transport them over vast distances risk free... its time upgrade storage went away... Players can teleport with huge wealth stored in the upgrade chest across the map distributing them for sale or in their ships with zero risk. I hear these upgrades have little to no impact on their ship's performance too.. So its time the upgrade chest went away, the only thing perhaps we should be able to teleport with are our marks.. and even that is up for debate...
  17. ok forget the idea about crafting an upgrade where you bought the mats to transport it safely... The upgrade chest needs to go, it serves no purpose any more, it allows players to teleport huge wealth around the map with zero risk... People insist upgrades do not matter, they don't give an advantage, so they won't mind having to move them between outposts. All sarcasm aside, BOOKs have more value in that they cannot be lost once learned, yet they cannot be teleported between outposts, upgrades do not need to be either.
  18. Ok that title needs to be put in context... But, in many ports you can find the same old books, the basic stuff, pellews, boatswain 6-7 , rum rations etc.. and this is what I am referring to by 'too common' I'd like to suggest that these basic books be less common, I mean you only use them once, and increase the availability of the 'basic' upgrades. Many ports will have no upgrades at all, but they will have 7 different 'basic' books. Players use more of the upgrades than they ever will books. I'd also suggest reviewing the drop rates of these 'basic books' from AI ships, especially those above 6th rate. I'd expect most players will have collected the majority of the common books by the time they are fighting 5th rates, so perhaps they could be replaced with basic upgrades in the drop tables, or their likelyhood to drop reduced.
  19. The map will be reset as well I would expect, and that can only really be done alongside an asset wipe.
  20. Premium ships... meh.. You can't keep up with premium ships and you will run out of unique content... (not that i would call ships that have to be middle of the road in performance unique) Paints, Sails, FLAGS, hell even figureheads... limited editions etc... temporary versions, permanent versions (much like world of tanks) This stuff i would pay for... (a little) I have zero interest in a DLC that lets me flip factions every 30 days... and I bet at least half the player base are with me on that one...
  21. Why not multiple patrol missions at a time... call them National Battles... Might make this more accessible to all. I imagine there are alot of players who can't be bothered to flip to the other side of the map for a gank, let alone newer players who may not have free town outposts yet. Key west could be considered US vs Spain (though no need to lock anyone out) As they are currently apart from LT and shroud I don't have outposts near the free towns nor do i have spares that I can relocate.
  22. Now we need free outposts at all of these patrol hubs ontop of our existing outposts....
  23. No they aren't prussia is just the fotm, with the majority of its players just hopped on the bandwagon in the last week or 2 3-4 nations max gets my vote
  24. F11'd this one today as well, only applies to players not in clan. When they are part of a clan there is no space between clan tag and playername which doesn't look too bad
