  1. not sure if there will be the same issues....there will be warning of contention zones so really you know where to be according to the new design.

  3. in general it looks fine, times are still likely to be an issue but what can you do to stop nations having Aussies/Kiwis in bulk....not much How does this tie in with regions as per the other thread is a interesting question to me,,,, for instance if you say 10 port battles max per day then you imply that only the port in question is attackable yet you have regions to capture.....it sort of imples that you have to fight in that region for long periods of time without moving on due to the need to flip many ports side by side to conquer a region.. or does flipping the regional take the whole shebang which means your after 1st rate battles more than4th rates.....and you can instigate a mix of possible targets making people out of position to defend if you attack multiples. etc... Just don't know exactly how that falls as tactically you would want to have multiple ports become open for PBs and attack multiples at once even if there was only a small amount going to smaller battles to dilute the enemy.
  4. I'd be wary about capture nations auto alliance.....I'd change that to NON hostile and unable to help in PBs. They can screen for you not hinder you nor attack for you. Just to stop griefing rogues etc If you capture a regional capital that means the other ports are capped also? or does that mean the region has multiple targets which you have to beat before you flip a region. How exactly do the regions flip or not flip in contest with deadlines?
  5. YAY!!! This makes the game a thing...great stuff....hopefully it works effectively because SEASONS is a big boon.

What is the status of your alliances when the patch comes....will you be upholding them regardless of mechanics? just curious as to how you intend to deal with it because as far as i can tell the reality is you have major advantages over the others based on locations and the fact that pirate aint going to be a thing anymore for PBs
  7. are you talking about more than 5 per port? if yu are trying to make room for a few cutters and the breaking them up you can drop ships into your fleet to make room. i have 40 ships....you just need to buy more outposts.
  8. think of your sails as < > shapes......if your tuning into the wind then you want the open ends the way you wanna go.....if you are with the wind you want the pointy bit the way you want to go....that works basically till 45 either way and then you dont really get the same kind of manual sail assistance.....

Devs: if you do want to allow this then we can make a clan for each nation that people can join so you only have 6 clans to do updates to for active players.......the sooner we get an answer the more coverage you get pre patch that they have a 1 OFF chance to move....anything in free ports goes with them, any clan warehouse is their natiosn ports eill have to be moved to indamen in freeports etc but the actuall changing of nation on their account with be adjusted the same as the clan tag itself coming across
  10. sigh, obviously people can't read.... the next patch basically turns pirates into the enemy of eveyone inlike how it has been for the last 7 months. We dont get to vote on diplomacy this means we wont be able to join other peoples port battles or basically do anything other than OW PVP because of the screening issues around port battles. The game is starting to drastically change and I don't feel like that should happen without a port wipe or some form of assistance to those that want to jump to a nation It has very little to do with where the pirates are now and everything to do with theres no way out of it once diplomacy comes in and this is a development change. I am merely trying to get ahead of it because most of you guys don't seem to understand whats coming next patch. If your still butthurt about clans going pirate then you probably need to have a good look at the state of the game then and right now and next month. You are in fact getting pirate nerfing changes earlier than expected. The fact pirates reduced a nation to minimal ports and dominate the map beyond every before simply by 2 clans being pirate highlighted things and changed the way diplomacy was being specced. Unlike some of you guys some of us are actually testing stuff and trying to build a better game. Skully and myself are always about the game. Not all of us were just angry about stuff.

  12. well i suppose the argument comes about because of things like navy briig,merc snow & rattler And connie,inger,india In 4ths you have trader/Tank/DPS in 6ths you have Brig as tank Snow as balanced and Merc/Rattlers as DPS. In 3rds you have Bad & Good. as bellona is better guns better armmour and better agility...... it is a fair question. I'd buff the armour on a 3rd to make it the tank and have the bellona as the def. In 1sts you sorta have the same thing with Vic as tank and santi as DPS however it isnt DPS against the same rate ship so not sure if thats quite right. admittedly this is a gave vs reality argument so it is a question to the devs as to do you want the rates to be comparable or a progression......and dependanton the answer if thats the case then 5ths need to be split to small and big since there is a clear difference between trinc/essex and reno/cerb It also makes sence for there to be another rank or 2 for crafters as 9*5 = 45....splitting 5ths to 2 tiers makes 50 levels make more sence.... bear in mind that m 9 = 7 millitary and 2 trader tiers....(indiaman is counted as a militaryfor this )

So since there is a big series of changes coming in the next patch i suggest that since you are not wiping and since pirate are currently at a low port number you allow Clan leaders to request Nation changes from pirates to elsewhere. The beauty of doing it now willl be that you can do a simple DB update for clans and anyone wanting to be pirate can just reattack someone. Once you break the pirates mechanics you might find it harder. Also if you offer it as a 1 time only thing during this early patch you save yourself some greif later when people complain about pirates being nerfed to hell. Clan leader has to PM someone and the clan gets added to a 1 offf script when you patch the diplomacy stuff.
  14. you Yes the explanation post following it almost immediately on page 18 explains that. Just a little tip....EXPLAIN IT ATTHE START if you want people understand that. Clearly it is everyone else who is at fault for not waiting 18pages for an explanation.
  15. Google sheets and officers filling it in. Unfortunately the design of the clan warehouse is rudimentary. When they start rebuilding the clan warehouse they willaddress it, hopefully in a different way (see specs for clan shop and the economics threads)
  16. admin was thinking transporting immigrants in but decided it was too much like a job to do it for the people who took it and not a fun one for the nation at large.......i think that was the jist. i do think that there should be 3 parts to ports capping,growing and maintaining but with low population and no carrots to perform these tasks its a bit of a fail before launch............once they finish getting tage one fixed they might be able to start looking at diversifying the development onto things like that trade xp, trader goals, explorer goals etc etc and i put this in that basket.

  18. no compensation for testers my friend..........people lost santis in the great leaky ship debacle a while back and got nothing so i would suggest you put a rock on your keyboard and grab a bottle to cover the costs

  20. anything that involves timing has to goas lag/latency can't change the game for people. The card game works but needs to be more complex. I have a version suggested which handles multiple decks and has a progression system that makes it more diverse. The current system is a gear check really. Youcant make something that takes too long because there is a battle going on around you.....you have to keep it to something like 5 minutes max with a double blind component IMO.
  21. I suggest removing all temp mods and making them perks. that way if you are boarding you have to lose one of your other officers for the job. Dike dual speccing in WOW etc IE 2 or 3 officers per ship......Size of ship means 1-3 like light,,firgate, SOL 1 is combat slot = Boarding or DPS 1 is Navigation = speed/Defence 1 is Crew = Crewloss vs Crew Gain 1 is a Port based officer where you can transfer stuff like freeport tradersand set up a home port so to speak. He affects sell prices and cost of transport between ports. Cant have a shipyard in a capital and cant have your port officer in capital....this has the effect of spreading the nation. at least a few ports if not many. each officer has say 6 perks which rank up like levels of mod with similar percentages. So you can pick marines/Musketeers, Guns / Swords , Grog/Precision. you can balance of go all one way or another. Boarding has to be reworked anyways. I will post my version of the minigame elsewhere.

TLDR Version Thread title : Hey lets stop fighting for mostly empty port battles and just divvy it up and get to PVP in set areas because we all know the timers don't work and it is a lot of time and affects the moral of the countries. Lets just divvy up the ports because really ports are mostly irrelevant and although we all fight for ports it seems a bit not good overall. Deng: you wot mate? i was having fun and it is getting fixed sometime so lets just keep going. D4mi4n : but i did something look at me, I can't figure out how to win solo so port battles is my only chance. Jolly: ignore d4mi4n he is irrelevant D4mi4n : no i'm not Everyone else: dutch ain't in so its a bit of a stalemate atm. Side note from many : But the US, they dont have anything on this agreement......why didnt you talk to the US......but but...but but......... Everyone regarding the US: Don't stress there's probably an agreement in the works, already in place or plans to nuke them. No firm data
